  • 디지털 컨버전스와 유비쿼터스 시대의 시작은 디지털 미디어 기술의 발전과 방송 통신 사업의 컨버전스를 가속화 시켰으며, 그 결과로DMB, WCDHA, Wibro, IP-TV, HSDPA 등의 새로운 형태의 차세대 제품과 서비스들이 뉴미디어 매체의 핵심으로 등장하고 있다. 국내에서 방송 통신의 컨버전스의 빠른 진행은 세계 최초로 디지털 멀티미디어 방송(DMB) 서비스 시작을 가능하게 하였다. DMB 서비스는 멀티미디어 서비스가 핵심이다. DMB 데이터 서비스인 Broadcasting Website Service(BWS)는 현재 지상파 DMB방송 사업자인 KBS, MBC, SBS, YTNDMB가 본방송 준비 막바지 단계이며, 삼성 전자와 LG전자를 비롯한 단말기 개발사들도 데이터 서비스를 위한 제품 출시에 서두르고 있는 등 DMB 산업의 활성화의 주역이 될 것으로 예상된다. DMB의 데이터 서비스는 뉴스, 날씨, 프로그램 정보 등의 단순 정보보기 수준에 그치지 않고, 리턴 채널을 이용한 양방향 서비스와, SMS, 전화걸기 등 휴대전화 단말의 고유기능과의 연계를 통한 다양한 서비스도 선보일 것이다. 더 나아가 향후 T-Commerce와 개인 광고 등 새로운 비즈니스 모델과 사업영역으로 확산시켜 나갈 수 있을 것이다. 그러나, 아직까지 DMB와 데이터 서비스는 초기단계로서, 표준 기술의 규격 작업, 이론적 논의들, 관련 사업자들의 비즈니스 준비 등에서 검토되어, 실제 사용자들을 대상으로한 연구 분석이 이루어 지지 않았다는 연구의 한계를 가지고 있다. 본격적으로 방송, 통신 컨버전스 데이터 서비스가 시작되면서, 사용자들에 초점을 맞춘 많은 연구가 이루어지길 바라며, 이러한 연구의 분석를 통해 또 다른 새로운 서비스와 비즈니스 기회의 창출을 기대해 본다.여 RD(Rate Distortion) 최적화 기반 모드 결정을 빨리 완료함으로써 고속 프레임간 모드 결정을 가능하게 한다. 제안된 방법은 프레임 간 모드 결정을 고속화함으로써 스케일러블 비디오 부호화기의 연산량과 복잡도를 최대 57%감소시킨다. 그러나 연산량 감소에 따른 비트율의 증가나 화질의 열화는 최대 1.74% 비트율 증가 및 0.08dB PSNR 감소로 무시할 정도로 작다., 반드시 이에 대한 검증이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 현지관측에 비해 막대한 비용과 시간을 절약할 수 있는 위성영상해석방법을 이용한 방법은 해양수질파악이 가능할 것으로 판단되며, GIS를 이용하여 다양하고 복잡한 자료를 데이터베이스화함으로써 가시화하고, 이를 기초로 공간분석을 실시함으로써 환경요소별 공간분포에 대한 파악을 통해 수치모형실험을 이용한 각종 환경영향의 평가 및 예측을 위한 기초자료로 이용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.염총량관리 기본계획 시 구축된 모형 매개변수를 바탕으로 분석을 수행하였다. 일차오차분석을 이용하여 수리매개변수와 수질매개변수의 수질항목별 상대적 기여도를 파악해 본 결과, 수리매개변수는 DO, BOD, 유기질소, 유기인 모든 항목에 일정 정도의 상대적 기여도를 가지고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이로부터 수질 모형의 적용 시 수리 매개변수 또한 수질 매개변수의 추정 시와 같이 보다 세심한 주의를 기울여 추정할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다.변화와 기흉 발생과의 인과관계를 확인하고 좀 더 구체화하기 위한 연구가 필요할 것이다.게 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.는 초과수익률이 상승하지만, 이후로는 감소하므로, 반전거래전략을 활용하는 경우 주식투자기간은 24개월이하의 중단기가 적합함을 발견하였다. 이상의 행태적 측면과 투자성과측면의 실증결과를 통하여 한국주식시장에

Analysis of the Correct and Incorrect Reports on the Observation and Capture of Sea Snakes in the Coasts of South Korea (국내 연안에서 바다뱀 관찰과 포획의 제보 및 오제보 분석)

  • Since a new (unrecorded) species was reported in 2016, a total of four sea snake species are currently listed in Korean waters. Although the possibility of year-round inhabitation of sea snakes in Korean waters has increased due to climate change, the related studies are scarce because of the lack of human resources and available equipment. We placed posters and banners requesting voluntary information on sea snakes in coastal regions and Jeju Island to obtain information on sea snake distributions in the coasts of South Korea and possible specimens through volunteer activities. As a result, we received total 45 reliable reports, including photographs or video, between March 2013 and December 2016. Eighteen reports on three sea snake species and thirteen capture cases of two species were submitted from Jeju Island and southern coastal regions of Korea mostly between August and November. There were twenty-seven false reports including seven cases of terrestrial snakes, eighteen fishes, and one each of invertebrate and inanimate material. Based on the results, we proposed the effective way of sea snake surveys using volunteers.

Satellite Remote Sensing to Monitor Seasonal Horizontal Distribution of Resuspended Sediments in the East China Sea (위성원격탐사에 의한 동중국해 재부상 부유사의 계절적 수평분포 특성)

  • The spatiotemporal distribution of resuspended solid on the shelf of the southern Yellow Sea and the northern East China Sea was studied. The sea surface reflectance imageries obtained by remote sensing using satellite at channels of red (620~670nm), green(545~565nm) and blue(459~479nm) from Terra MODIS were used to explain the front of the high concentration suspended solid(SS) on the shelf in the East China Sea. The horizontal distribution of the resuspended solid was depended on the wind force, tidal current and stratification of water. The horizontal distribution areas of the resuspended solid in winter season during January~April, 2002 were three times wider than those in summer season during June~September, 2001.

Assessment of Wave Power Potential in the Kangwon and Dongnam Regions, Korea (강원권 및 동남권 지역의 파력발전 잠재성 평가)

  • This study performed an assessment of wave power potential in the Kangwon and Dongnam regions encompassing the East Sea and part of South Sea. Annual electricity production and economic effects of 28 wave energy converters with 750kW capacity were analyzed using significant wave height and peak wave period data(created from the NOAA's NWW3 model) and InVEST software(developed by Stanford University and University of Minnesota). Annual electricity production was estimated to be up to 1,207MWh/year and at least 163MWh/year. The spatial pattern of annual electricity production showed that the sea far from land has higher wave power potential than the sea near coast. The net present value(NPV) of 28 wave energy converters was calculated by considering an operation period of 25 years. When assuming that the electricity produced from wave energy converters is transferred to onshore power plants through underwater cables, the NPV was estimated to be up to 5,883USD(6,600,000KRW) and at least -63,494USD(-71,000,000KRW). In contrast, the NPV increased up to 28,095 USD(31,600,000KRW) when assuming that the electricity is utilized in the Ulleungdo and Dokdo. In addition, it was found that the break-even line of NPV in the East Sea becomes closer towards the land according to the increment of electricity price. The NPV of wave energy converters near the Ulleungdo and Dokdo will be 88,158 USD(99,000,000KRW) if the increment of electricity price is 100KRW.

  • The IHO S-100 is a standard on the universal hydorgraphic data model for supporting information services that integrate various data in maritime and provide proper information for safety of vessels. The S-100 is used to develop S-10x product specifications which are standards on guideline for creation and delivery of specific data set in maritime. The product specification for feature-based data such as ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart) data includes a feature catalogue that describes characteristics of features in that feature-based data. The feature catalogue is developed by domain experts with knowledge on data of the target domain. However, it is not feasible to develop a feature catalogue according to the XML schema by manual. In the IHO TSMAD committee meeting, needs of developing technology on building feature catalogue has been discussed. Therefore, we present a feature catalogue builder that is a GUI(Graphic User Interface) system supporting domain experts to build feature catalogues in XML. The feature catalogue builder is developed to connect with the FCD(Feature Concept Dictionary) register in the IHO(International Hydrographic Organization) GI(Geographic Information) registry. Also, it supports domain experts to select proper feature items based on the relationships between register items.

A Development of Smartphone-connected Fishing Net Tracking and Management System (스마트폰 연계형 어망위치 추적 및 관리 시스템의 개발)

  • Recently, the environment at littoral sea has been contaminated and damaged by submarine deposits, e.g. the fishing nets. To solve this problem, the government pushes the policies such as management plan of the fishing nets in whole life cycle of them. The representative causes are dumping and drifting away of the fishing nets, and shed new light on technological methods for tracking and management of the fishing nets. To prevent this drawbacks, this paper covers a development of tracking and management system for the fishing nets. To do this, we analyzed the existing products, and figured out performance improvement points. Also we proposed additional enhancement techniques which connects with a smartphone application and displays the positions and state information of the fishing nets, and so on. To adopt the proposed methods, we design and implement a tracking and management system based on ENC with the smartphone application, and verified the usefulness of the system.

Preliminary Study on the Paleoenvironment Reconstruction using a Bivalve from Sangmori Shell Mound (상모리패총에서 산출되는 이매패류 패각을 이용한 고환경 복원 예비연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate paleoenvironmental conditions of the shallow sea around Jeju Island during the Late Holocene using geochemical contents of the bivalve (Glycymeris albolineata) collected from the Sangmori Shell Mound. The bivalve shell used shows the archaeological age of 2,300 yr BP. Stable carbon and oxygen isotope compositions show that growth rates decreased with aging. Coeval trends of both isotope compositions can be observed: heavier values during winters and lighter values summers except for their young and old growth stages. The seasonality of bivalve shell appear to reflect seasonal variations of paleotemperature as well as paleosalinity. Especially China Coastal Water with low salinity was transported into the southern Jeju Strait from Changjiang River during summer periods. Heavier carbon isotope values during winter indicate higher productivity, and this is supported by high density of phytoplanktons and higher chlorophyll contents during winter time. For accurate interpretation, monitoring of present-day conditions of shallow marine water as well as additional geochemical analysis of the same Recent bivalve may be necessary.

  • This study is to acquire a thorough understanding of the S&T level of Korea to serve as an important basis for the government policy-making, and to make basic information available to effectively promote the National R&D Program by survey of the overall S&T level in Korea S&T level survey is a comparison to the highest levels in the world to the third 3digit of the technology tree table. And, survey of technological gaps by year, during which Korea is able to reach the current level of the advanced countries. The findings of the surveys should be applied to strategic technology Planning for solving or narrowing the technology gap, e the major criteria for resources allocation in National R&D programs. And, the findings of the surveys should be the fundamental information used to establish strategic S&T policy in government.

GIS Mapping of Coastal Pollution Induced by Hebei Spirit Oil Spill (허베이 스피리트호 유류유출 사고에 따른 해안오염 GIS 지도 제작 연구)

  • This study was aimed to make GIS oiling thematic maps and analyze temporal oiling variation patterns for two months after 'Hebei Spirit' oil spill accident in December 7, 2007 using GIS and oiling status surveyed data. As a basic work for making of oiling thematic maps, geometric corrections were performed with IKONOS images using ground control points data. These corrected images were used to make detailed coastline from digital charts, and then spatial unit of coastline were defined using classified coastline types. And to know the representative parameters which reflect oiling situation, relationship between oiling status parameters extracted from four times oiling assessment reports and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) data (December 2007 and January 2008) monitored by Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute (KORDI). Using these representative oiling status parameters pollution value were calculated, and they were keyed into spatial unit of coastline as attributive value. GIS oiling status thematic maps made with coastline containing pollution value showed the initial two month's situations somewhat well. Also, to analyze temporal variation pattern of coastline types, about 13.4km length coastline around Malripo beach was defined as detailed study area where is the common spatial zone surveyed oiling status by each organizations. Based on this study results, it could be possible to provide oiling status maps quickly and to support decision making for oiling control action and scientific pollution monitoring.

Monitoring of non-point Pollutant Sources: Management Status and Load Change of Composting in a Rural Area based on UAV (UAV를 활용한 농촌지역 비점오염원 야적퇴비 관리상태 및 적재량 변화 모니터링)

  • In rural areas, composting is a source of non-point pollutants. However, as the quantitative distribution and loading have not been estimated, it is difficult to determine the effect of composting on stream water quality. In this study, composting datum acquired by unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) was verified by using terrestrial LiDAR, and the management status and load change of the composting was investigated by UAV with manual control flight, thereby obtaining the basic data to determine the effect on the water system. As a result of the comparative accuracy assessment based on terrestrial LiDAR, the difference in the digital surface model(DSM) was within 0.21m and the accuracy of the volume was 93.24%. We expect that the accuracy is sufficient to calculate and utilize the composting load acquired by UAV. Thus, the management status of composting can be investigated by UAV. As the total load change of composting were determined to be $1,172.16m^3$, $1,461.66m^3$, and $1,350.53m^3$, respectively, the load change of composting could be confirmed. We expect that the results of this study can contribute to efficient management of non-point source pollution by UAV.
