A Study for the Scale of Service Quality of Bulk Terminal (벌크터미널의 서비스품질 척도에 관한 연구)

  • Various studies on Port and Terminal have been conducted to gain the competitive advantage, but they are limited to the bulk terminal than container terminal. Therefore, the study is to analyze the service quality of bulk terminal. The study first finds attributes of bulk terminals through professional groups and brainstorm. This study analyzes the difference between the perception of the actors such as carriers, forwarders and shippers, using a bulk terminal. The result shows that all service quality factors have a significant effect on the satisfaction.

  • 전자해도를 시스템에 사용하기 적합하게 변환한 구조를 SENC(System Electronic Navigational Chart)라고 한다. SENC의 구조는 전자해도 표출에 필요한 각종 공간질의, 속성질의 등의 처리, 개체 속성정보의 관리, 그리고 개체의 화면표출을 위한 정보 관리가 용이하도록 정의되어야 한다. 현재 대부분의 SENC는 파일기반으로 구현되어, SENC를 활용하는 시스템에서는 SENC의 정보들을 처리하기 위한 질의를 시스템 내에서 정의하고 처리하여야 한다. SENC를 파일이 아닌 검증된 Spatial DBMS에 구현하여 SENC가 갖추어야 할 각종 정보 관리 및 처리 기능 구현 시, 시스템의 신뢰성과 유연성에 이점을 가져올 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기본적인 전자해도 정보 관리 및 표출에 필요한 SENC의 특성을 고려하여 Spatial DBMS를 이용하는 SENC 설계를 연구하였다.

A Comparison Study between Korean and Foreign Shipping Lines on Logistics Service Attributes and Capability (국적선사와 외국적선사의 물류서비스 속성과 역량에 관한 비교 연구)

  • In order to obtain and maintain competitive advantage, under rapidly changing maritime environment, liners should make efforts to reinforce their logistics service capabilities. Most of all, for this, shipping lines should accurately recognize and evaluate their logistics service attributes. In the present research, various logistics service attributes for ocean carriers were selected from previous studies and the observed data for 6 main service attributes were collected through a questionnaire survey to 31 maritime experts. Moreover, shipping lines' relative logistics service capabilities were measured by an additional survey process. The comparative gravity between core evaluation factors were measured by AHP technique and the relative capability levels of 2 Korean liners and 5 foreign shipping companies were assessed by utilizing a fuzzy model. The empirical result presents that Korean liners are superior at customer service capability but inferior at freight rate competitiveness. This research shows that Korean liners are ranked at high position for overall logistics service capabilities and focusing on the differentiation strategy but not on the cost related strategy.

Effect of Destination and Cruise Service Attributes on Customer Satisfaction (크루즈 기항지와 선사 서비스속성이 고객만족에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to suggest ways to enhance service competitiveness in cruise and destination, this study developed a measure of cruise tour service and analyzed the impact and relative importance on customer satisfaction. Specifically, for the service quality analysis, based on the SERVPERF model, the specialty of the industry was reflected through the arguments of tourism and transport logistics, and the three factors of cruise service quality and destination service quality were derived and utilized as measurement tools. As an analysis method, factor and reliability analysis were conducted using data collected via a survey. Next, correlation analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship between variables and regression analysis was performed to check the impact of cruise tour service quality on customer satisfaction. The study found that both cruise service attributes and destination service attributes had a positive effect on customer satisfaction and that the relative importance of service attributes was identified. Accordingly, it was found that the service quality should be formed by reflecting arguments in the tourism and transport logistics sectors and that the service should be further improved and developed according to the importance of the service attributes so as to enhance cruise tour products.

The Estimating of Port Preference according to Customer′s Segmentation (고객 세분화에 따른 항만 선호도 비교분석)

  • In this paper, we estimate the difference of port preference and attributed importance by diving subjects of the survey into internal and external shipping companies considered as the main customers of port. From the results of conjoint analysis, it is found that there are differences in preference between domestic shipping companies and foreign ones. The difference in port preference shows; foreign shipping companies mark Shanghai port in the first place in the preference of transshipment port, while domestic shipping companies prefer Busan port. Similar results are applied to preference of rolling port. The result of the survey means it is necessary to group shipping company, when port is analyzed, because the port preference is subject to wether internal or external shipping companies. Also, it implies target marketing strategies should continuously be needed in order to maintain Busan port's preference gaining advantage over other ports and major target would be shipping companies.

A Study on Evaluating the Ability of the Competitive Container Ports in Far-East Asia (극동 아세아 컨테이너 항만의 능력평가에 관한 연구)

  • The rapid progress of the intermodal freight transportation in recent years has induced fierce competition among the adjacent hub ports for container transport. This brings increased attention to the evaluation of the port competitive ability. But it is not easy to evaluate the port competitive ability because this belongs to ill-defined system which is composed of ambiguous interacting attributes. Paying attention to this point, this paper deals the competitive ability of container port in Far-East Asia by fuzzy integral evaluation which is adequate to interacting ambiguous attribute problem. For this, the proposed fuzzy evaluation algorithm is applied to the real problem, based on the factors such as cargo volumes, costs, services, infrastructure and geographical sites These are extracted from the precedent study of port competitive ability, etc. The results show that the port evaluation factors come in following order ; services, costs, infrastructure, geographical sites and cargo volumes. There are some interactions(interaction coefficient, ${\lambda}=-0.664$ between evaluation attributes. The port competitive ability comes in following order : Singapore, Hongkong, Kobe, Kaoshiung and Busan. According to the sensitivity analysis, the rank between Busan and Kaoshiung changes when ${\lambda}=0.7$. From the analysis of the results, we confirmed that the proposed fuzzy evaluation algorithm is very effective in the complex-fuzzy problem which is composed of hierarchical structure with interacting attributes.

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 도선 서비스 현황과 운영제도 및 구조적인 문제점을 살펴보고 현행 도선 서비스가 가지고 있는 문제점을 계층적으로 분석하여 최우선적으로 개선해야 할 우선 순위를 도출하고자 한다. 우리나라의 도선 서비스 개선에 관한 주요 요인들 중에서, 첫번째로 도선사의 서비스 마인드가 가장 중요한 항목으로 나왔으며, 세부평가 속성들 중에서도 도선 서비스의 재평가가 최고우선 평가항목으로 도출되었다.

  • The interest on cruise service has been increased due to the economic development and income growth all over the world during last several decades. However, cruise industry in Korea is located in the initiating stage and the service is just focused on costal cruise service. This study investigates relationship between influencing factors of the selection attributes of cruise service on tourism satisfaction and behavioral intention. Additionally, the study aims to provide information to establish customer-oriented marketing strategies for cruise tour service. Literature review is conducted to find out the factors in order to meet the future users preference and expectations. The data was collected on-board customers of "One Night Cruise" on Panstar Line. The result of the study shows that a certain number of factors are statistically significant on the cruise tour intention of potential customers. It shows that there is significant difference related to the using purpose and the usage attitude. Managers in the cruise company are able to utilize the practical implications of the present study when the cruise service launches in Korea. This study exists limitations that samples are not sufficient and the research can not be generalized due to the inadequate samples of target company.

Development of improvement algorithm for SCAMIN attribute of ENCs (전자해도 SCAMIN 속성 개선 알고리즘 개발)

  • ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart) is an electronic chart that digitize nautical chart including all kinds of information of nautical chart. Mariners have difficulty reading information because of clutter problem if display scale of ECDIS is lower than compilation scale of ENCs. IHO made SCAMIN improvement model included in S-65 Standard to settle this ENC clutter problem. This SCAMIN model includes both simple restriction that should safety some requirement and share geographic information. and hard restriction that should overlap with area object such as depth area, land area, dredge area. It also apply SCAMIN step of sounding value according to importance of safety navigation. In this paper, we analyzed the restrictions for SCAMIN model of S-65 Standard, developed algorithm and application to apply theses restrictions reasonably and mechanically. Also we applied this algorithm and application to Korea ENCs and evaluated the result of performance.
