The Estimating of Port Preference according to Customer′s Segmentation (고객 세분화에 따른 항만 선호도 비교분석)

  • In this paper, we estimate the difference of port preference and attributed importance by diving subjects of the survey into internal and external shipping companies considered as the main customers of port. From the results of conjoint analysis, it is found that there are differences in preference between domestic shipping companies and foreign ones. The difference in port preference shows; foreign shipping companies mark Shanghai port in the first place in the preference of transshipment port, while domestic shipping companies prefer Busan port. Similar results are applied to preference of rolling port. The result of the survey means it is necessary to group shipping company, when port is analyzed, because the port preference is subject to wether internal or external shipping companies. Also, it implies target marketing strategies should continuously be needed in order to maintain Busan port's preference gaining advantage over other ports and major target would be shipping companies.

  • This study was to analyze the visual preference of the port landscapes for North port in Busan. Preference related variables came from Semantic Differential(SD) method and then were conducted by the factor analysis. Multiple regression was done for the relationship between the preference and factors. The result found 4 factors, including dynamics, stability, pleasantness and healthiness. Much importance was placed on dynamics among them. Therefore, building port landscapes and their image attracting viewers should consider dynamics in terms of port landscape plan and user attraction development for visual quality management.

  • Recently, the development construction of New Masan Container Terminal (1-1 Phase) with private investment would be set for opening in the 2011 year in Masan Port, Korea However, as new container terminals of the Pusan New Port and 'the New Ulsan Container Terminal neighboring Masan Port will be also planned to open around the time, the strategy establishment for Masan Port is required for a keen competition among these ports. To provide it with strategic points, we applied SP model used for customers' behavior method to analyze customer's preference changes with the shifts of the ports' conditions for customers.

  • 우리나라의 주요 무역항을 입${\cdot}$출항하는 선박의 증가, 대형화${\cdot}$고속화 및 새로운 항만의 건설 등은 해양교통 환경변화에 큰 변화를 가져오고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 항로에 설치된 등부표의 기능을 재검토하는 것이 요구되고 있다. 또한 이용자 중심의 서비스 향상 및 해상교통 안전 확보를 위한 대책 마련이 필요하다. 등부표는 안전항행을 도모하여 해양사고를 미연에 방지하는 역할을 수행 하지만 이의 배치와 관련한 연구가 미진하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 연구의 일환으로서 국내 주요 무역항만을 출입하는 선박의 동부표 이용자들을 대상으로 등부표 배치에 관련한 선호도를 설문조사하여 분석하였다.

  • The number of calling ports has been decreased and the degree of inter- and intra-port competition has been increased, which is caused by the market trends that shipping liners have and operate their own terminals, strategic M & A frequency occurs among shipping liners, and container vessel size is increasing. The trends also cause shipping liners to change the evaluation factors for decision to call a particular port such as port preference, potential for growth, port competitiveness, etc. Since the decision of liners greatly influences the policies for port and terminal development, it is worth having interest in the evaluation factors. Therefore, this work intended to evaluate 8 major ports (Port of Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Busan, Rotterdam, Kaoshing, and Tokyo) with regard to liners' evaluation factors (calling port preference, potential for growth and port competitiveness) and to classify ports by similarity of evaluation factors with the methodologies of ANOVA analysis and Duncan test. The result shows implication for liners' viewpoint to evaluate major ports in the world.

  • Recently, mutual economy cooperation in Northeast Asia has leaded steady growth among main countries of it and rather promoted a single economy circle. In this region, Busan container port competes with min container ports in China, Taiwan and Japan in it for attracting transshipment container traffic of north-Shanghai in China and for-east Russia. Therefore, this paper aims to suggest competitive strategies for Busan container port to attract container traffic in Northeast Asia To do so, it evaluates the preference of important ports in the competitive situation and competitiveness edgy of important ports in Northeast Asia, and finally proposes the relative order of important factors. Based on the evaluation of it, first, the Busan ports hue tn strengthen port facilities to attract more traffic and in detail, reinforce the number of berth, yard areas and handling equipment Second, they also have to provide high quality of services to deliver cargos in time, not being damaged and swiftly response to shipowner and shipper's claim, Third, they need to review the strategy to adopt flexible tariff policy and to invest the profit from tariff in port service and facilities, as providing higher port tariff level by a regular rate.

  • S-Mode는 항해에 필요한 정보들을 확인하기 위하여 주요 항해장비의 기능과 화면, 작동법등을 표준화하는 기능이다. 국제해사기구는 S-Mode의 항해장비 적용을 위한 가이드라인 개발을 진행 중에 있다. 본 연구는 S-Mode 적용을 위한 사용자 의견과 선호도를 조사하여 지침 개발에 반영하기 위해 수행되었다. 항해장비 중 ECDIS를 대상으로, 사용자 선호도 조사를 위한 테스트 프로그램을 구성하였다. 웹기반의 테스트 프로그램을 통해 선호도 조사를 실시하였으며, ECDIS 사용자들이 항해당직 수행 시 선호하는 정보의 내용과 화면배치를 확인하였다. 연구의 결과는 S-Mode에 고려할 사용자 요구 사항을 제시함으로써, 실효성 있는 지침 개발에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

컨테이너터미널 적정 임대규모 검토

  • 컨테이너터미널의 규모는 내용년수 기간 동안 해당 터미널의 관리, 운영, 경쟁적 지위에 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 해당 항만의 경쟁구조에도 영향을 미친다. 따라서 항만당국과 터미널 운영사는 임대차계약을 체결하기에 앞서 터미널 규모의 중요성을 이해할 필요가 있다. 이론상 특정 설비/기업의 규모는 전형적으로 최소효율규모(MES)와 관련하여 규정되지만, 컨테이너터미널의 규모는 이론과 실제상 MES와 기타 여러 요소가 결합되어 결정되는 것으로 알려지고 있다. 소위 운영사가 선호하는 적정 컨테이너터미널 규모는 항만거버넌스 구조와 목표, 시장규모와 구조, 기술변화와 운영상의 고려요소, 선사의 운항패턴 등에 의해 결정된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 전세계 주요 항만의 컨테이너터미널 적정 임대규모를 검토하여 우리나라에의 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

The User Analysis for Visual Range and Arrangement of Light-buoy on the Channel of the Domestic Trade-port (국내 무역항 항로의 등부표 시인거리와 배치에 관한 이용자 분석)

  • This paper analyzed the visual range and arrangement of light buoy on navigation officers as the primary material to establish the standard of optimal arrangement of light buoy on the channel of the domestic trade-port. About $30{\sim}150$ questionnaires by port were distributed according to the scale of trade-ports and then Effective total 356 copies were used in analysis. The distance, $2{\sim}4$mile, occupied the highest percentage 55.0% as the visual range with naked eyes at the daytime in bright weather. At the arrangement way of light buoy the both sides buoy method showed high in the preference 62.1% among the respondents. The preferred interval between sequence buoys was averagely 1.09mile. Also, the preferred number of light buoy was two in the preference 40.6% among them to cognize without binoculars.
