One of difficulties with which teachers meet is to have underachievers with no willingness and motivation for study involved in class. Mathematics underachiever are average or above average in their intelligence but their actual achievement in mathematics did not coincide to their intellectual capabilities. The teaching strategy for them is to motivate them to try to study mathematics and to experience the improvement in their mathematics grade. In this paper, we choose flipped classroom as the strategy of teaching basic mathematics to math underachievers and applied it to them. Then we wanted to make sure the possibility for applying flipped classroom to teaching math underachievers through the analysis of change in the scholastic achievement of students in mathematics and mathematical disposition. The results of this study are as followings; First, when we taught basic math to underachievers using a flipped classroom, we confirm that math underachievers with active participation improved scholastic achievements significantly. Second, the flipped classroom was led to positive effects in an affective domain. In particular, it showed the most noticeable change in the area of willingness to math problem-solving and perception about the value of mathematics.

Recently, Dennis et al.(2008) proposed media synchronicity theory. In this theory, for conveyance communication processes, use of media supporting lower synchronicity should result in better communication performance. But for convergence processes, use of media supporting higher synchronicity should result in better communication performance. This paper proved a part of the propositions of media synchronicity theory, because media synchronicity theory was proposed theoretically, not empirically. We used a data set generated from the survey. The respondents of survey were 163 students who had experienced the communication media in the classes that should summit result of team projects or team reports. According to the results of data analysis, higher use of communication media led to better learning performance. The familiarity of task moderated the effect of communication media on learning performance. And use of media supporting higher synchronicity led to better learning performance.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness the Song Psychotherapy Program in decreasing test anxiety in adolescent students. For this study, twelve sessions were conducted in five stages for four 14-year-old middle school students at D Middle School on Daejeon. To measure the effects of the Song Psychotherapy Program, the researcher compared the results of Test Anxiety Inventory of Korea (TAI-K) before and after the program. The researcher also analyzed the contents of the participants' verbal responses and answers to repeated questionnaires to find out what participants experienced in Song Psychotherapy. The results of this study were as follows. First, a comparison of test anxiety scores prior to and following the program showed an average decrease from 91.75 to 60.5. Second, the subjects reported a positive musical experience in the program. The results of the research as described above show that the Song Psychotherapy Programis effective in decreasing test anxiety levels and general examination stress in adolescent students.
The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effects of mathematical communication-centered teaching using peer feedbacks on students' mathematics achievement and mathematical dispositions toward mathematics, and then this study examined the characteristics of feedbacks used by students. To do this study, two sixth grade classes selected from an elementary school in Seoul participated in the current study; one class for a treatment group applying mathematical communication-centered teaching using peer feedback, and the other for a comparison group applying traditional teaching using teacher-centered communication. The results of this study showed the fact that a treatment group of mathematical communication-centered teaching applying peer feedback scored statistically higher than a comparison group applying teacher-centered communication with respect to both students' mathematical achievement and disposition. Especially, this communication-centered teaching program focused on peer feedback was more effective to middle or lower level students than higher level students. In addition, mathematical communication-centered teaching applying peer feedbacks helps students reflect their own thinking process about problem solving, and students experienced the improvement of their confidence about mathematics from opportunities to provide peers with feedbacks. Finally, the present study suggests the important role of communication in mathematics learning, particularly student-to-student feedbacks rather than teacher-to-students feedbacks. That is to say, students need to have many opportunities to represent their own mathematical thinking processes using mathematical language.

Among them, only verbal communication factor was closely related to their academic achievement(p<0.05). The verbal and non-verbal communication also had a high correlation of 0.673(p<0.01). The explanation meeting provided chance to learn further with positive attitude to medical students and motivated them academically. Additionally, they realized that communication skill played a key role in transmitting medical knowledge to others. Therefore, introduction of communication-based explanation meeting would be very useful tool in improving educational efficiency.

This study explored the possibility of psychological testing as a way to proactively support underachieving students. Among the four-year college students that participated in our study, 43 students who participated in the academic warning support program for the second semester of 2019 and 30 students who had no academic warning experience used the data from the study personality type test. For data analysis, technical statistics, t-test, and correlation analysis were performed using jambi 1.1.9.0 to obtain the Pearson correlation. Studies have shown that the two classes of students differ in their learning behavior patterns. A student with a bachelor's degree warning scored high in the rest of the class, except for rebelliousness, perfection, mixed thoughts, hard work, satisfaction, single-mindedness and type satisfaction. This can be seen as a factor in the psychological conflict, such as the discrepancy between what one likes and what one studies, and lack of available support. It has been confirmed that psychology, emotional parts and economic support are needed as well as learning skills. In addition, this study is expected to provide basic data for proper preemptive support in schools, such as the prevention of dropouts and counseling programs.
This study aims to investigate the impact of science classes employing creative science drama on elementary school students' academic achievement and attitudes toward science during the final step of elementary science classes. The creative science drama used in this study is a class-closing activity wherein the teacher provides a basic script for the learning topic and then allows students to complete the rest of the story using their assignment. It devised a creative science drama class based on the research of Yoon (2016), and the contents of this study were centered on the use of magnets and the appearance of the Earth in the first semester of third grade. Students in their third year at H Elementary School in Gyeonggi-do were the subject of this study. The results showed that scientific achievement through science drama in the experimental class was improved, with a statistically significant difference. However, ANCOVA analysis revealed no statistically significant differences in attitudes toward science. Moreover, there was no statistically significant difference in scientific drama perception. Interviews with students in the experimental class applying science drama revealed that students found difficulty in writing science drama scripts and that coordinating and reaching a mutually acceptable opinion in group activities required the most discussion and cooperation. However, many of them stated that the experience of scientific drama was enjoyable and informative, and since what they learned was transformed into a scientific drama, they remembered the lessons longer.

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between health-risk factors and oral health in Korean adolescents. This cross-sectional study was based on the 9th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey (2013). The final participation rate in the survey was 96.4%. of a Total of 72,435 adolescents (age, 12~18 years) who had participated in the survey, 66,951 adolescents (33,777 boys and 33,174 girls) were selected for analysis, after excluding those with missing data. The key variables were oral health factors (one or more of the six oral symptoms), general characteristics (five factors), and health-risk factors (five factors). After adjusting for the general characteristics, frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2-test$ using PASW Statistics ver. 18.0, and logistic regression analysis were performed to understand the effects of health risk-factors on the oral symptoms experienced by the study subjects. Subjects who answered 'Yes' for alcohol consumption had a 1.33 times higher risk of experiencing oral symptoms. Further, subjects who smoked were at a 1.2 times higher risk of experiencing oral symptoms. With regard to internet use, the risk of experiencing oral symptoms was 1.25 times higher for subjects who used the internet for 7 hours or more than for those who used it for less than 1 hour. Compared to those subjects who had not experienced violence in school, the odds ratio of subjects who had experienced it 3~4 times was 1.54-fold higher. The study found that health-risk factors were associated with oral symptom experience. Therefore, programs to understand health-risk factors and interventions should be developed for Korean adolescents and provided on a regular basis along with oral health education.
