Comparative Comprehension of Men Learning by the Principles of Complex System and the Book of Changes (복잡계의 원리와 주역의 사유방식이 주는 교육에의 시사점)

  • Men learning has no fixed route. In other words, any route can be taken, which can also be seen in the structure of other "complex systems" discussed in modern society. It can also be examined through Yang's long-standing classic, The Book of Changes Men learning itself started from informal learning to become today's formal learning. As we look at the stages of human civilization's progress, we can quickly discover these stages of development. The issue of human beings has always been a topic of discussion, and these discussions are ongoing. Men learn through language and tools, technology and culture, and through philosophy, art, and religion to deal with their complex and diverse mental world. Through these various activities, learning is accomplished. This is not limited to the physical processes of one generation learning through inheriting knowledge; men's learning, a kind of mental process, has extended our life. This is why there is no other reason that men's minds and learning are always developing. This study is about how to learn in a complex and diversified modern society and to find out how to coexist with the principles of the "complex system" and The Book of Changes.

  • 오늘날 정보화 사회로의 변화로 인하여 컴퓨터와 인터넷이 우리 일상생활에서 차지하는 비중이 갈수록 커지고 있으며 제7차 교육과정 사회과에서도 최근 컴퓨터 통신과 인터넷의 발달로 새로운 형태의 지역화 자료의 유형과 활용 방안이 중요시되고 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 웹 기반 지역화 학습 시스템은 정보화 시대의 요구에 부응하여 초등학교 3학년 사회과 교육과정을 중심으로 경기도 평택 지역의 내용을 학습할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 현재 학교 현장에서 주된 학습 자료로 쓰이고 있는 초등학교 3학년 지역화 보조 교과서 외에 학생들이 자기 주도적으로 웹에서 활용할 수 있는 학습 시스템을 제작함으로써 부족한 지역 자료를 제공한다.

  • Existing web based learning system provides various instruction paths. However, learners are provided with the same instruction content with little consideration of each learner's learning style. Therefore, Current Web based learning is lacking as a system that encourages individual learning, by failing to provide for proper instruction methods for each learner. This prototype system can find the most effective way of learning for each learner by analyzing a learner's learning. It also provides content based on the most effective instruction method for the learner taking into consideration learning style. Especially, this proposed adaptive learning system supporting dynamic link by learning style by evaluation for each steps of leaning process.

Cross-Sectional Item Response Analysis of Geocognition Assessment for the Development of Plate Tectonics Learning Progressions: Rasch Model (판구조론의 학습발달과정 개발을 위한 지구적 인지과정 평가의 횡단적 문항 반응 분석: Rasch 모델)

  • In this study, assessment items to examine geocognition on plate tectonics were developed and applied to middle and high school students and college students. Conceptual constructs on plate tectonics are Earth interior structure, specific geomorphology, and geologic phenomena at each plate boundary. Construct for geocognition included temporal reasoning, spatial reasoning, retrospective reasoning, and system thinking. Pictorial data in each item were all obtained from GeoMapApp. Students' responses to the items were analyzed and measured cross-sectionally by Rasch model, which distinguishes persons' ability levels based on their scores for all items and compared them with item difficulty. By Rasch model analysis, Wright maps for middle and high school students and college students were obtained and compared with each other. Differential Item Functioning analysis was also implemented to compare students' item responses across school grades. The results showed: 1) Geocognition on plate tectonics was an assessable construct for middle and high school students in current science curriculum, 2) The most distinguished geocognition factor was spatial reasoning based on cross sectional analysis across school grades, 3) Geocognition on plate tectonics could be developed towards more sophisticated level through scaffolding of relevant instruction and earth science content knowledge, and 4) Geocognition was not a general reasoning separated from a task content but a content-specific reasoning related to the content of an assessment item. We proposed several suggestions for learning progressions for plate tectonics and national curriculum development based on the results of the study.

  • 정보 교과 교육과정의 평가에 관한 연구는 기존의 교육평가의 연구와 마찬가지로 대부분 평가 방법에 초점을 맞춘 특징을 보인다. 타일러에 의해 교육과정의 한 영역으로 자리잡은 교육평가는 구성주의 이론의 발달과 더불어 결과중심 평가에서 과정 중심평가로 관점이 이동하고 있으며 형성평가, 협동학습에 네트워크를 적용한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 구성주의 이론을 바탕으로 세부 구성 요소들에 대하여 평가 구성요소 분류 개념에 따라 각 국의 정보교과교육과정 평가 체계를 고찰하였다.

An Investigation of the Perception of Pre-service Teachers on Instructional Design based on Programming (프로그래밍 기반 수업 설계에 대한 예비 교사의 인식 조사)

  • 테크놀로지의 발달에 따라 Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge(TPACK)의 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 김성원과 이영준(2017)은 TPACK에서 테크놀로지의 도구를 프로그래밍까지 확장한 TPACK-Programming(TPACK-P) 교육 모델을 제안하였다. 또한, TPACK-P 교육 모델을 기반으로 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 예비 교사에게 적용하여 효과를 검증하였다. 그 결과, 다른 영역의 지식 발달에는 효과적이지만, Technological Content Knowledge(TCK)와 Technological Knowledge(TK)에는 영향을 주지 못하였다. 본 연구는 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램이 모든 영역의 지식 발달에 효과적이도록 만들기 위해서 예비 교사를 대상으로 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램을 적용하고, TPACK-P 교육 프로그램에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 예비 교사는 프로그래밍 학습, 교과와 교육과정에 맞는 프로그램 설계, 프로그램 제작 과정에서 어려움이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 이러한 어려움을 극복하기 위해서 프로그래밍 학습의 강화와 프로그래밍 수업 설계 예시의 탐색이 필요하다고 말하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통하여 TCK와 TK의 향상을 위하여 프로그래밍을 효과적으로 가르치기 위한 교육 방안과 예비 교사의 교과 내용과 프로그래밍의 연결을 촉진하기 위한 내용이 TPACK-P 교육 모델에 보완되어야 한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the backward design reflecting the process-focused assessment on science learning achievement and science learning motivation in elementary science class. The process-focused assessment to support the growth and development of learners and the backward design that seeks a learner's complete understanding can be of great help to science learning. The results of study are as follows. First, we conducted the backward design reflecting the process-focused assessment centering on 'Earth and Moon's movement' unit, and reflecting various process-focused assessment to help achieve achievement standards. Second, as a result of science learning achievement test and science learning motivation test, there were statistically significant differences in the experimental group. It is expected that the process-focused assessment reflecting the characteristics of science subject will be utilized in the school field in conjunction with the backward design.

A Case Study of Elementary Students' Developmental Pathway of Spatial Reasoning on Earth Revolution and Apparent Motion of Constellations (지구의 공전과 별자리의 겉보기 운동에 대한 초등학생들의 공간적 추론 발달 경로의 사례 연구)

  • This study investigated elementary students' understanding of Earth revolution and its accompanied apparent motion of constellation in terms of spatial reasoning. We designed a set of multi-tiered constructed response items in which students described their own idea about the reason of consecutive movement of constellations for three months and drew a diagram about relative locations of the Sun, the Earth, and the constellations. Sixty-five sixth grade students from four elementary schools participated in the tests both before and after science classes on the relative movement of Earth and Moon. Their answers to the items were categorized inductively in terms of transforming frames of reference which are observed on the Earth and designed from the Space-based perspective. We analyzed those categories by the levels of spatial reasoning and depicted the change of students' levels between pre/post-tests so that we could get an idea on the preliminary developmental pathway of students' understanding of this topic. The lower anchor description was that constellations move around the Earth with geocentric perspective. Intermediate level descriptions were planar understanding of Earth movement, intuitive idea on constellation movement along with the Earth. Students with intermediate levels did not reach understanding of the apparent motion of constellations. As the upper anchor description students understood the apparent motion of constellations according to the Earth revolution and could transform their frames of reference between Earth-based view and Space-based view. The features as the case of evolutionary learning progressions and critical points of students' development for this topic were discussed.

A Study on the Construction of School Electronic Library for Learning-Teaching Process (교수학습 지원을 위한 학교 전자도서관 구축 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Recent developments and integration of IT are expanding the possibility of various instructional learning methods in education environments. Contemporary learning theory such as open education, self-directed learning, student's centered learning describes the students as an active and engaged information user and underscores the importance of information literacy. Therefore, school library today focus on the process of learning-teaching process rather than dissemination information, and emphasized the focus of the school electronic library as information center. The purpose of this study is examined physical components of School Electronic Library, design a model of information system and suggests a strategy for implementing teaching-learning process support services based on school electronic library and information system.
