  • The problem of poor learning has been a subject that has been constantly raised in the educational field since the mid 20th century. Therefore, this study classified the components of self - regulated learning into cognitive - control, motive - control, and behavior - control strategies, and examined the effects of self - regulated learning on internal value, self - efficacy, curiosity, and self - confidence. The study was conducted on university students who participated in the program for the study of depression in A university in Changwon city. The results showed that self - regulated learning factors had a positive effect on learning motivation. Second, the learning adjustment factors have a positive effect on self - efficacy. Finally, learning control factors have a positive effect on curiosity and self - confidence. Through this study, we confirmed that a comprehensive guidance system considering interaction is needed because various factors act integrally in the learning process. As a concrete method, it is imperative to develop a learning counseling program that can enhance the motivation level by referring to cognitive, synchronous, and behavioral factors.

  • Underachievers, having had more experience with failure in teaming, tend to lose their self-confidence and motivation for study. If they achieve more when studying, they will enhance their self-confidence and motivation and their learning accomplishments will be increased. A game-style learning system was, therefore, developed in which the learner gains self-satisfaction and motivation with a proper 'hit and win' in a game-style program. The system supplies learning content automatically and randomly while adapting to the student's level by continuously checking the learning progress. Positive effects in motivation and learning achievement were recorded when underachievers used this program.

  • The purpose of study was the non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design to test the effect of self-directed nursing practice based peer-tutoring of same sophomore, on the level of confidence, performance and self-efficacy of core nursing skills in nursing students. The subjects were 68 nursing students in K City from May 1th to June 12th in 2019. The participants were shared into the peer tutoring practice group (experimental group, n=34) and the lecturer guided practice group (control group, n=34). The results of study, the experimental group scored significantly higher on the foley catheterization performance (t=11.60, p<.001), confidence (t=4.123, p<.001) and wearing protection equipment performance (t=5.91, p<.001), confidence (t=4.24, p<.001) and enema performance (t=2.82, p=.008), confidence (t=2.09, p=.044) and self-efficacy (t=4.52, p<.001) than control group. Therefore, the results justified that self-directed nursing practice based peer-tutoring could be effective in improving the performance, confidence and self-efficacy of core nursing skills in nursing students. Based on this, I suggest the study that examines the effects of peer-tutoring by applying it to various majors.

  • This study was performed to examine the effects of the peer mentoring learning-based program, named preclinical objective structured clinical examination (OSCE), on self-confidence on core basic nursing skills and critical thinking disposition of nursing students. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The participants were 68 sophomore nursing students of a university in J province. The research period was conducted from February 2016 to February 2017. As a result, OSCE increased self-confidence on core basic nursing skills and critical thinking disposition, compared to the control group. Post self-confidence on core basic nursing skills had positive correlations with post critical thinking. Therefore, we suggest that based on this study findings, further research be done to compare and analyze effectiveness of various peer mentoring learning-based OSCE programs.

  • This study sets the cut points of affective achievement scores based on the criteria referenced assessment. The modified Angoff method is applied to the standardized mathematics affect inventory which had validity and reliability. The cut points are set for 6 factors i.e. learning directivity, self control, anxiety, interest, cognizing value and confidence. As the results, among percentages of factor that middle school 2nd grade students in Korea achieved, the proportion of cognizing value is the highest. And there are no difference of the proportions as for gender, differentiated instruction, and region.

  • This study investigated the psychological effects of using a serious game with young learners in the English classroom compared with those of a dictionary application. A tablet PC-based serious game was created for the training of English phoneme discrimination for Korean 6th graders, and its psychological effects were measured using a paper-based survey and face-to-face interviews. The overall results revealed that the serious game had more positive psychological effects on young learners than the dictionary app. These findings provide supporting empirical evidence for using serious games in English classrooms.

  • This study examines the effects of ethical education using CEDA discussion learning, on nursing professional self-concept, ethical dilemma and ethical decision-making confidence of nursing students. The participants were 57 third year nursing students from a nursing college in C city, and the data were collected from March 4 to May 13, 2019. Ethics education using CEDA discussion learning was conducted for 9 weeks, including 3 weeks of theoretical education and 6 weeks of CEDA discussion. Collected data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA and paired t-test using the SPSS WIN / 21.0. The results indicate that ethical education using CEDA discussion learning positively affects nursing professional self-concept (t=13.816, p<0.001), ethical dilemma (t=6.205, p<0.001) and ethical decision-making confidence (t=11.950, p<0.001). In addition, the self-concept of nursing professional, ethical dilemma, and ethical decision-making self-confidence are correlated, and nursing professional self-concept differs according to major satisfaction. Our results indicate a necessity to strengthen the ethics education of nursing college students, to help develop positive nursing professional self-concept and confident ethical decision-making in an ethical dilemma.

  • The study was conducted to investigate factors influencing satisfaction in major on nursing students. A convenience sample 159 nursing student was selected from G do and C do, between 17 June and 24 June 2019. Data were analyzed t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Factors that influenced satisfaction in major included gender, age, religion, perceived academic achievement, acquisition of fundamental nursing skills(FNS), perceived health state. Satisfaction in major showed a positive correlation with learning self-efficacy(LSE), confidence in performance of FNS and satisfaction with practicum. These variables revealed regression analysis that significant factor and explained 63.0% of the variance. It is necessary to develop and test programs to ensure an improvement in LSE, confidence in performance of FNS and satisfaction with practicum among nursing students to increase their satisfaction in major.
