Then 75 items were selected for preliminary factor analysis based on item appropriateness by evaluation of 28 elementary teachers. The happiness inventory composed 136 items was administered to 155 students and 36 items were selected based on exploratory factor analysis results. 4 factors-optimism, positive peer-relationship, self-esteem, consideration, and teacher-relationship-were extracted by principal component analysis. The confirmatory factor analysis indices indicated that 4 factor model of happiness was fit. The reliability(Cronbach's ${\alpha}$) was .996.

The results of this research were as follows: First, with regard to the causes of the students' dislikes of Practical Arts classes, extrinsic factors such as instruction management, instruction content, teaching facilities and equipment, and teacher characteristics were elicited. Intrinsic factors included complaints about failing to meet students' expectation from Practical Arts, negative perception of Practical Arts, the interest, competency, and fear of the students. Secondly, the students who learned Practical Arts from the Practical Arts specialty teachers gave more answers on instruction management, instruction content, and teacher characteristics than the students who learned Practical Arts from their homeroom teachers did. The students who learned Practical Arts from their homeroom teachers answered that they disliked Practical Arts because of lack of lab facilities and practice than their counterparts did. The analyses of teacher data provided the reasons and contexts of the dislikes of the students such as teaching facilities and equipment, and the anxiety of the students.

Degrees of practice(${\beta}=.123$, t=2.405, p<.05), the satisfaction level of the supervisor(${\beta}=.176$, t = 2.446, p <.05), the lecture satisfaction level of the practicum(${\beta}=.229$, t=4.018, p<.001) were found to affect the empowerment in each sector. But in final analysis with all factors have been concerned, the lecture satisfaction level of the practicum(${\beta}=.257$, t=4.495, p<.001) had a positive effect on the empowerment. Based on these results, implications for research and practice were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the construct validity of self-evaluated writing scale for students with disabilities who had difficulties in writing. After interpreting the Here's How I Write scale developed by Goldstand et al. (2013), we administered Delphi survey to 40 special education professionals, calculated the content validity ratio and decided the final scale of 21 questions applicable to Korea. Additionally, we carried out the scale to 350 disabled and normal students for testing construct validity. The main results are as follows: For both students with disabilities and without disabilities, the overall internal consistency of scale are higher than .89 and the internal consistency of factors of scale are higher than .66. The confirmative factor analysis using AMOS 21.0 and SPSS 21.0 to verify construct validity showed fit index at relatively satisfactory level for students with disabilities and without disabilities. Furthermore, while there were relatively strong convergent validity and discriminant validity in the sub-factors of scale for students without disabilities, the level of convergent validity and discriminant validity were relatively lower for students with disabilities.

  • As teenagers' Internet use increases and Internet takes an important part in their everyday lives, many people become concerned with Internet addiction. In this study, I attempt to analyze the current status of teenagers' Internet addiction using an evaluation tool developed for students, and to compare elementary students' Internet addiction level with secondary students. Also I analyze factors affecting Internet addiction. For the analysis, 18 variables are selected from the areas such as demographic background, the experience of Internet use, family-related traits and social activities. A survey was conducted to 1,155 elementary students and 1,822 secondary students selected from nationwide schools. The main finding of this study is that among the elementary students 5.0% of the sample students are in the stage of serious addiction, and 19.7% in the stage of early addiction. In addition, the level of elementary students' Internet addiction is significantly higher than the level of secondary students. Also, the degree of elementary students' Internet addiction is significantly affected by some factors such as gender, surfing time, surfing purpose, satisfaction with parental relationship, parents' interference in Internet use, conversation frequency among family members, and satisfaction with school life.
