이유실태가 학령 전 아동의 식습관에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Weaning Practices on the Eating Habits of Preschool Children)

  • The principal objective of this study was to determine how weaning by mothers of preschool children between the ages of five and seven years influences the children's eating habits and food preferences. The results of this study will help to educate mothers about good weaning practices and facilitate the development of weaning programs by providing basic data on the subject. The results demonstrated significantly positive correlations between children's scores on eating habits and the level of vigorous weaning practices, the consistency of their practice, and the child's reaction to the foods provided (p<0.001). A positive correlation was noted between the frequency of providing solid food and the preference toward the food, with the exception of boiled rice and brightly colored vegetables. Thus, the results of this survey showed that the frequency and variety of solid foods that mothers try to actively provide their young children affect their food preferences and eating habits in general. These conclusions suggest that mothers should be educated about the significance of proper weaning so that their children can develop appropriate eating habits, and that there should be nutritional education for mothers, regarding the best weaning practices.

학령 전 아동 어머니의 자신과 아동에 대한 체형인식 (Personal Maternal Body Image Perceptions Their Preschool Children)

  • This study was performed to investigate body image perceptions of women about themselves and their preschool children and also to investigate the relationship between these perceptions. Subjects were 545 women and their children (279 boys and 268 girls) residing in Daejeon city. $67.7\%$ of women were classified as normal group, $18.6\%$ as overweight group, and $13.8\%$ as underweight group by BMI. $68.5\%\;and\;78.7\%$ of their boys and girls, respectively, were classified as normal group, $22.4\%\;and\;16.4\%$ as overweight group, $9.1\%\;and\;4.9\%$ as underweight group by WLI. Women made relatively accurate judgments on their current body sizes and selected their body images as the most desirable one. But they preferred plumper figures for their children and failed to perceive their overweight children as overweight. While $74.7\%$ of women wished to be thinner, $81.1\%$ of them wished their children to be fatter. Women spending less then 100 thousand won and more than 500 thousand won as monthly food expenses and having only one child perceived their children's current body sizes the lowest and the highest, respectively. Women wished boys to be fatter than girls. Their current body sizes were correlated positively with the children's current body size (p < .01), and their healthiest, attractive, and 'wish' figures were correlated positively with children's current, healthiest, attractive, and 'wish' figures (p < .05- p < .01). Body size dissatisfaction (wish to be thinner) and BMI of women were correlated negatively with children's healthiest and attractive figures (p < .01). These findings suggest that in order to correct the women's body image misperceptions and to prevent childhood obesity, mother's perception about healthy body images for themselves and their children need to be included in nutrition education. Also, it is necessary to assist mothers to understand the relationship of body size and weight status with the risk of chronic disease which might appear later in their children's life. 외과적 뇌질환을 가진 학령기 아동의 수술 전 정서적 불안정감과 어머니의 양육스트레스에 관한 예비연구 (The Emotional Distress Prior to the Surgery and the Parenting Stress in Elementary School Children with Neurosurgical Diseases : The Preliminary Study)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to compare emotional problems in children with neurosurgical diseases prior to surgery as well as levels of parenting stress experienced by mothers of children treated with surgery and those without surgery. The goals was to provide a basis on which comprehensive treatment interventions could be established. Methods: Subjects included 78 elementary school children who visited the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery as well as their mothers. The Children's Depression Inventory (CDI) and the Revised Children Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS) were administered to children. The Parenting Stress Indexs (PSI) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) were administered to their mothers. Results: The children with neurosurgical diseases showed higher levels of depression prior to surgery. In their mothers, parenting stress was relatively higher and parenting competence was lower. In particular, for those children who underwent surgery, depression was significantly higher. Specifically, they exhibited more negative expectations, and negative self-image. In mothers of children who underwent surgery, depression was significantly higher. Conclusion: Our results suggest higher levels of emotional distress and parental stress in children who undergo neurosurgical operations and their mothers, respectively. Based on this, the necessity for surgical and comprehensive psychological intervention is suggested.

학령전 아동을 위한 호흡기전염병 예방 프로그램의 개발 및 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on Health Education Program Development of Respiratory Communicable Disease Prevention for Preschool Children and the Measurement of It's Effects)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study were to develop a respiratory communicable disease prevention program for preschoolers and measure it's effects. Method: The respiratory communicable disease prevention program for preschoolers consisted of texts, cartoons, photographs, discussions, demonstrations, puzzle games, die games, compensation/reinforcement, and token economy which were directed under the systematic design of instruction by Dick %amp; Carey. This study was a quasi experimental study under the nonequivalent control group with pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 45 preschool children who are attending 3 different district nursery schools and they were matched by the age, pretest knowledge, and pretest behavior. The instrument used in this study was criterion referenced test items that were developed by a researcher for evaluating the subject's knowledge, attitude, and behavior about respiratory communicable disease prevention. A pretest was administered a week before treatment. Experimental group Ⅰ was administered by the treatment of respiratory communicable disease prevention program. Experimental group Ⅱ was administered by above program with token economy program. The posttest was conducted on the eighth day. The third test for behavior was completed 15th day. To determine the effect of the program, the data were analyzed by the SAS 6.12 program with Kruskal Wallis test, ANCOVA, ANOVA, Duncan's test and paired t-test. Result: 1) There was a significant difference in knowledge between the experimental groups and control group(F=5.89, P=0.0197). 2) There was a significant difference in attitude between the experimental groups and control group(F=3.29, P=0.0469). 3) There was a non-significant difference in behavior between the experimental groups and control group(F=0.00, P=0.9512). 4) In the experimental groupⅡ, there was highly significant increase in behavior after token economy(t=4.5252, P=0.0005). Conclusion: It was found that the respiratory communicable disease prevention program for preschool children was effective in changing the preschoolers' knowledge and attitude on the respiratory communicable disease prevention, but not enough for changing the preschoolers' behavior. Token economy was improved as an effective and strong method for inducing desirable changes of preschoolers' behavior.

영·유아기 타인양육이 학령전 어린이의 사회정서적 행동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of early nonparental care on preschoolers' socioemotional behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of early full-time nonparental care during infancy/toddlerhood on children's socioemotional behaviors during the preschool period. Subjects for this study were 105 three- to five-year-olds from middle-class families in the U. S. A. Children were assigned to one of three groups according to their early care history. Children's social interactions with peers and caregivers during indoor free-play sessions in day care centers were observed for 20 minutes. The head teachers rated the children's social and emotional behaviors on two questionnaires. Mothers completed the Attachment Q-sort for attachment assessment for the preschoolers. In addition, mothers were asked to fill out a questionnaire on their parenting practices. Children who had received full-time nonparental care during infancy and/or toddlerhood were rated by their teachers as being more intellectually competent than children who did not receive full-time nonparental care during first three years of life. They were, however, rated by teachers and were observed by the researcher as being more aggressive than children with no full-time nonparental care. These children were observed to engage in less wandering/onlooking behaviors than children who had not had any full-time nonparental care. Children's attachment security scores and dependency scores did not differ as a function of early nonparental care histories. When the effects of early care patterns, sex of child, and current attachment security to mothers on aggressive behaviors of the preschoolers were examined by a hierarchical regression model, then any "pure" effects of nonparental care and of attachment security on child aggression were minimal after controlling for family background, child care center quality, and maternal childrearing practices. Strong buffering factors for the preschool children (family characteristics, parenting styles, and high quality nonparental care) mediated a possible risk factor of early nonparental care and promoted optimal outcomes for the children.

비 집중.집중 상태에 따른 청각 유발 전위의 반복 정량 분석 (Recurrence Quantification Analysis of Auditory Evoked Related Potential in Inattention and Attention)

  • 본 연구에서는 집중력이 중요한 학령기 아동을 대상으로 '비 집중 상태'와 '집중 상태'에 대한 뇌파의 차이를 분석하기 위해 비선형 해석 방법의 하나인 반복 정량 분석(Recurrence Quantification Analysis, RQA)을 이용하였다. 건강한 아동 21명(남성 12명, 여성 9명)을 대상으로, 청각 자극이 나오는 시점 전 500msec를 '비 집중상태' 자극 후 500msec를 '집중 상태'로 실험을 진행하였다. 실험결과 반복 정량 분석의 파라미터 값은 '비 집중 상태'보다 '집중 상태'가 큰 것을 확인하였다(p < 0.05). 또한, 상태에 따른 유발 전위의 반복궤적과 색상 반복궤적을 도식화하여 비선형 특성을 확인하였고, '비 집중 상태'보다 '집중 상태'일 때 뇌가 복잡한 특징을 나타내는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 실험을 통하여 청각 자극에 대한 비 집중 집중 시 뇌의 비선형 특성을 반복 정량 분석을 통해 해석할 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • 성학대보고가 부모로부터 먼저 나왔을 경우, 부모가 양육권이나 면접권과 연관된 분쟁중에 보고되었을 경우 및 아동이 학령전 아동일 경우, 정신감정자는 위(僞) 성학대를 일단 의심하여야 한다고 한다. 저자는, 보육원에 수용된 10세 여아로서 경도의 정신지체를 보이고 있고 자발적으로 성학대보고를 한 환아의 정신감정을 하는 과정중에 위 성학대보고라고 판단된 환아 1예를 보고하고자 한다. 환아의 거짓보고에 대한 병리적 기전에 대한 고찰과 함께 이와 연관된 문헌고찰을 하였다.

학령 전 아동의 라이프스타일과 부모의 체중인지도가 아동의 과체중위험에 미치는 영향 (Lifestyle Behaviors and Parental Perception of Children's Weight in Relation to Overweight Risk of Preschool Children)

  • We conducted this study to determine the factors associated with childhood obesity. The subjects were 170 preschool children in Busan. Data were collected by using questionnaires which asked for information about socioeconomic status, parental perception of their child's weight status and dietary/physical activity behavior. BMI was calculated for each child and their classification was determined, according to their age and sex, as follows: "overweight" at or above the 85th percentile, "normal" for the 15th-85th percentile, and with a BMI below the 15th percentile the children were deemed as underweight. Classification according to BMI percentile showed that 23.5% ($18.25{\pm}1.33\;kg/m^2$) of the children were overweight, 62.9% ($15.51{\pm}0.76\;kg/m^2$) normal, and 13.5% ($13.23{\pm}2.86\;kg/m^2$) were underweight. Socioeconomic status, as represented by the parents' level of education, the occupation of the father and the household income, did not affect the results. However, mothers working outside the household was a factor that was more likely to affect the weight status (p<0.05). Among mothers whose children were overweight, 30% underestimated their children's weight status (believing them to be of normal weight when they were overweight), and 25% failed to recognize the necessity of weight control for their overweight children. While sedentary activity and total daily activity levels were not related to BMI, the level of physically active leisure activity was inversely correlated with BMI (p<0.05). Although there were no differences in total energy intake, dietary behavior was significantly related to weight status. Overweight children had poor eating tendancies: they eat faster (in less than 15 minutes), overeat, and eat late at night. Based on our findings where hereby recommended the following interventions to help limit weight problems in Korean pre-schoolers: early promotion of active leisure behavior and healthy eating habits, along with attempting to correct parental misperception of healthy weight status for children.

아토피 피부염 환아의 보완대체요법 이용 실태 (A Study on the Utilization of Complementary and Alternative Medicine on Children with Atopic Dermatitis)

  • 아토피 피부염은 학령기 전과 후 아동에서 유병률이 높은 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한 일반인뿐만 아니라 아토피 피부염 환자에서도 보완대체요법의 이용률이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 아토피 피부염 아동의 보완 대체요법에 대한 이용 실태를 파악하고 이에 대한 기초 근거를 마련하는데 있다. 연구 대상은 2010년 '서울시 아토피 천식 안심학교' 사업에 참여한 아동으로 6,800명의 아토피 피부염 아동 중에서 무응답을 제외하고 4,985명을 최종분석에 활용하였다. 독립변인은 연령, 가구 월 소득, 수면장애이었고 종속변인은 지난 12개월 동안의 병원 이용 경험, 한의원 이용 경험, 민간요법 이용 경험이었다. 연구결과, 병의원 치료 이용은 76.5%, 한의원(한방병원) 이용은 24.6%, 민간요법 이용은 62.3%, 한의원(한방병원)과 민간요법의 중복 이용은 2.1%, 병의원 치료와 민간요법의 중복 이용은 34.2%, 병의원 치료와 한의원(한방병원), 민간요법의 중복 이용은 18.8%이었다. 그리고 보완대체요법 이용에 영향을 미치는 변인으로는 연령, 가구 월 소득, 수면장애인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 일부 보호자들은 오랜 통념으로 민간요법이 더 효과적이고 안전하다고 인식하는 경향이 있다. 따라서 보완대체요법에 대한 장단점을 의료진과 상담한 후 이용하는 것이 바람직하다.

'미술'과 '언어' 활동 융합형의 아동 발달지원 교육 프레임워크 개발을 위한 탐색적 연구: 텍스트 마이닝을 중심으로 (An exploratory study for the development of a education framework for supporting children's development in the convergence of "art activity" and "language activity": Focused on Text mining method)

  • 이 연구는 학령기 아동의 발달지원을 위하여 기존의 미술 치료 및 교육에서 시행되어 온 시각적 사고 중심의 접근에 더하여, 언어 교육 및 치료적 접근을 융합하고자 한 것이다. 이에 언어와 미술의 서로 다른 영역의 융합 가능 영역을 탐색하기 위하여 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 적용하였다. 이에 따라 이 연구는 기초 연구, 예비 DB구축, 텍스트 선별, DB 전 처리 및 확정, 불용어 처리, 텍스트 마이닝 분석 및 융합 가능 역 도출'의 절차에 따라 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 미술 치료 및 교육과 언어 치료 및 교육 분야에서 나타나는 문헌상의 각 군집을 연계하여 의사소통 및 학습 기능, 문제해결 및 감각 기관, 예술 및 지능, 정보와 의사소통, 가정 및 장애, 주제와 개념화 및 또래, 통합과 재구성 및 태도 등과 관련된 융합역을 도출할 수 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구를 통하여 향후 미술과 언어의 활동 중심 융합형 프로그램을 설계할 수 있는 프레임워크를 마련하고 아동발달 지원을 위한 총체적 접근을 시도하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.
