The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of ego-resilience on life satisfaction and the mediating effects of school adjustment between them among first graders, and to provide basic data for improving children's life satisfaction. For this purpose, the investigator collected data from 601 first graders at 25 elementary schools in the Jeonju area and analyzed them with the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical programs. The findings were as follows: first, there were significant correlations among the three factors of children's life satisfaction, ego-resilience, and school adjustment; and secondly, both of their ego-resilience and school adjustment had impacts on their life satisfaction, and their ego-resilience had influences on their life satisfaction via school adjustment. These findings indicate that there is a need for supports at various levels to increase the school adjustment abilities of first graders as well as their ego-resilience in order to improve their life satisfaction.

The purpose of this study is to compare the school life satisfaction of the gifted students with general students. For this study, the questionnaire on school life satisfaction was conducted to 76 elementary gifted students and 125 general students. The results of the study were as follows: First, in the school life satisfaction at the general class, there were significant difference among groups. It was found that the gifted students showed a little higher school life satisfaction score than the general students' (p<.05). The score of gifted class students' school life satisfaction was the highest. Second, the score of gifted class students' school life satisfaction was significantly higher than gifted education institute students' (p<.05). Third, school life satisfaction score of gifted students in a gifted class was significantly higher than in a general class (p<.05). Forth, regarding the gifted students' gender, there was no significant difference between girls and boys. Regarding the grades of the gifted students, there was no significant difference between 5th and 6th grader (p>.05).

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the causal relationship between school life adjustment and life satisfaction among adolescents through longitudinal panel data. The current study analyzed the 1st through 7th wave data in the 4th grade panel of elementary school from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). The research model was tested using auto-regressive cross-lagged model. The major results were as follows. First, adolescents' school life adjustment had a positive auto-regressive effect. Second, adolescents' life satisfaction had a positive auto-regressive effect. Third, adolescents' school life adjustment was a causal predictor of life satisfaction, but not vice versa. Finally, implications in terms of enhancing adolescents' school life adjustment and life satisfaction were also discussed.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of undergraduates' self-directed learning on the school life satisfaction and interpersonal relation ability. For this purpose, 341 undergraduates were targeted and analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing school life satisfaction, a sub-factor of self-directed learning, all of gender, grade, and age affected. In addition, sub-factors such as study confidence, study passion, study responsibility seemed to affect positively significantly in order. Second, as a result of analyzing the effect on interpersonal relation skills of self-directed study, there was no significant relation in gender, grade, and age. Based on the results of this study, it was confirmed that school life satisfaction and interpersonal relation abilities are closely related to self-directed learning. This is significant in that to revitalize institutions such as educational service, study support for students, self-directed learning programs development in education field at the university, etc. are required.

생활수준이 높아지면서 단순히 먹고 사는 수준을 넘어서 삶의 만족도에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 통계 정보를 살펴보더라도 근로여건 만족도, 녹지환경 만족도, 의료서비스 만족도, 소득만족도, 소비생활 만족도, 여가활동 만족도, 학생의 학교생활만족도 등 다양한 만족도 지표를 발견할 수 있다. 본 연구는 지방자치단체 통합데이터베이스 및 e지방지표를 이용하여 지방자치단체에 속한 구성원들의 다양한 만족도 지표의 연관성을 분석하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Adlerian Community Feeling Program on the school life satisfaction and depression among elementary school students. Subjects were 38 students who were the fifth grader students and all participants were asked to complete the school life satisfaction scale and depression scale. The pretest and posttest were implemented in order to verify the effectiveness of the program. The program consisted of a total 9 sessions, focusing on building the relationship, self-acceptance, respect for others, cooperation and contribution. The employed statistical analysis was ANCOVA. The results of the study are as follows: First, the Community Feeling Program had an influence on significant improvement in school life satisfaction and its sub-factor, general classes, teacher-student relationships and the physical environment of a school. Second, the Community Feeling Program had an influence on significant effect in depression and its sub-factor, negative mood/physical symptom. Thus, the Community Feeling Program based on Adlerian Psychology has been found to be effective in improving overall school life satisfaction and reducing depression.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relation of appearance satisfaction, self-efficacy, and school life adaptation of adolescent and to provide basic data for improving appearance satisfaction, self-efficacy, and school life adaptation. The participants were 199 second grade stndents of three high schools in C city. Data were collected from September 21 to September 25, 2012 and by a structured questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient using the SPSS/WIN(ver.20.0). The score of appearance satisfaction, self-efficacy, and school life adaptation were relatively moderate. The study showed significant differences in the score of appearance satisfaction and school life adaptation according to gender and economic status. Appearance satisfaction and self-efficacy had significantly positive correlations-with school life adaptation. Therefore, these results should be considered when developing intervention programs for improving school life adaptation, self-efficacy, and school life adaptation of adolescent.

The spread of smartphone in Korea causes several side effects and raises concerns. Especially, recently the addiction to smartphone of elementary school children has been paid attention to by their parents, teachers, and so on. After literature review, this research presented hypotheses that depression would affect children's addiction to smartphone positively and school life satisfaction (SLS) negatively, in turn their addiction to smartphone would affect SLS negatively. We employed Partial Least Square (PLS) path modeling to test the hypotheses. We found that all hypotheses were supported. The findings of this study suggest that their families and school authorities should make valid measures to lessen children's depression for preventing addicting to smartphone and, in turn, increasing SLS.

The purpose of this study is to understand the campus life of engineering transfer students, to devise a means for increasing their participation in the ABEEK, and to assist them to have the satisfactory campus lives through researching the satisfaction level and the campus life adaptation of transfer students. We conducted a survey targeting 193 engineering transfer students of K university and D university. The study shows that most transfer students were accepted into college through a general screening process, their grades are likely to be lower than those of the previous college, however, they tend to be satisfactory with the current campus life, and the rate of participation in the ABEEK is low. Therefore university officials need to work hard to raise the rate of the participation in the ABEEK track and the campus life adaptation of transfer students. Moreover, the male transfer students tend to be more satisfactory than the female students, and students with higher grades in the previous college are likely to show higher adaptation than those with lower grades. Therefore we should make effort to increase the satisfaction of transfer students and need to accommodate the programs for the female transfer students more positively.

This study tries to investigate the influence of parents' neglect on adolescents' school adjustment, and to prove the mediating effects of self-identity and life satisfaction on the relationship between two variables. Data from 5th year(2014) Korean Children and Youth Panel Study(KCYPS) on 2035 nation-wide second year middle school students was analyzed by utilizing Regression analysis and path analysis. Results of the analysis showed first, parents' neglect had a negative effect on adolescents' self-identity, life satisfaction, and school adjustment. Second, adolescents' school adjustment improved with their self-identity and life satisfaction included as mediating effects. Third, the effect of parents' neglect on adolescents' school adjustment was partly mediated by the effects of subject's self-identity and life satisfaction. Furthermore, the need for program development to enhance adolescents' self-identity, life satisfaction and school adjustment was suggested.
