Main component of phase time error of clocks in communication systems is flicker noise. This paper describes computer simulation algorithm of clock error. First, the standard for clock stability is introduced. Flicker noise is generated from white noise sequences by means of an algorithm. Relation between stage number, time constant and bandwidth are introduced. With the help of this algorithm, flicker noise is generated.
Most of multimedia video coding algorithms are lossy schemes and several kinds of spatial and temporal artifacts are inevitable. Flickering, which is the most typical coding artifact in time domain, is mainly due to fact that the quality of coded sequence fluctuates as the quantization parameter is adjusted for rate control. In this paper, we analyzed the effect of quality variation according to the characteristics of video sequence when the I-frames are periodically inserted. And we proposed the FR(Full Reference)-based assessment algorithm to measure the amount of flickering artifacts in the coded video. It is discovered that the flickering becomes critical when the level of quality is intermediate and is affected by the amount of detail or movement, the size of object, and camera parameters. The proposed measurement algorithm shows is well consistent with HVS(Human Visual System).

There are several factors that have influence on the phase noise of an oscillator. But one of the major factors is the flicker noise of a transistor, since the phase noise of an oscillator is generated by mixing the carrier with the low frequency noise near the DC having the characteristic of 1/f. In this paper, we have presented a method on reducing the phase noise of an oscillator by using a low-frequency feedback circuit based on an active bias circuit, and have fabricated a DRO for a DBS receiver. Measurement results show that the phase noise is -92 dBc/Hz at the 10 KHz offset frequency, and from these results we have found out that the reduction method is very effective.

Main components of phase time error of synchronous network are flicker noise and random walk noise. This paper describe computer simulation of clock error characterized by a statistical model recommended as a standard measure. Flicker noise sequences are generated from white noise sequences by means of a algorithm developed by Barnes. Random-walk noise sequence are obtained by integration of a white noise sequence. Especially for flicker noise, relation between stage number N, time constant ratio K and bandwidth of flicker noise generated was defined by using some examples.
Visible light communication (VLC) performs illumination and communication simultaneously, thus it is important to prevent the flicker due to the optical power variation during data transmission and at the same time to have dimming control capability. In this paper, we used Manchester code for flicker-prevention and dimming control. In the transmitter, the duty factor of the Manchester code was used for controlling the LED illumination. In the receiver, the edge-spike signals of an RC-high pass filter were used for recovering the Manchester code while preventing the adjacent noise light. In experiments, the LED light was kept flicker-free and the average optical power was controlled in the range of 8~68 % of the continuous wave (CW) LED light by changing the duty factor of the Manchester code.

This paper presents development of automatic image quality register optimization system using mobile TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) driver IC and embedded software. It optimizes automatically gamma adjustment and voltage setting registers in mobile TFT-LCD driver IC to improve gamma correction error, adjusting time, flicker noise and contrast ratio. Developed algorithms and embedded software are generally applicable for most of the TFT-LCD modules. The proposed optimization system contains module-under-test (MUT, TFT-LCD module), control program, multimedia display tester for measuring luminance, flicker noise and contrast ratio, and control board for interface between PC and TFT-LCD module. The control board is designed with DSP and FPGA, and it supports various interfaces such as RGB and CPU.
In this study, we used byte-inversion transmission method to prevent the flicker of lighting source in a visible light data communication link. In the transmitter, the non-return-to-zero (NRZ) signal with 9.6 kbps was on-off keying (OOK) modulated with a 100 kHz square wave carrier and byte-inversion signal was added after each byte to make the average optical power of the light-emitting diode (LED) constant. In the receiver, we used a band-pass filter to eliminate the interference of the 120 Hz noise which was induced from the adjacent light lamps, and an OOK demodulator to recover the original NRZ signal This scheme is useful in constructing wireless data networks using the illumination of visible light lamps.

This paper proposes a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) with chopper stabilization technique with a sample-hold circuit. Chopper stabilization technique is effective in terms of reducing low frequency offset and flicker noise. Conventional chopper amplifier has a disadvantage in area because of using Low Pass Filter (LPF) for remove chopping spike. The proposed chopper amplifier employed sample and hold technique to decrease chopping spike instead of LPF that improves 36% in voltage damping and 11% in area.

A dual-mode direct conversion receiver is developed in $0.13\;{\mu}m$ RF CMOS process for IEEE 802.11n based wireless LAN and IEEE 802.16e based mobile WiMAX application. The RF receiver covers the frequency band between 2.3 and 2.7 GHz. Three-step gain control is realized in LNA by using current steering technique. Current bleeding technique is applied to the down-conversion mixer in order to lower the flicker noise. A frequency divide-by-2 circuit is included in the receiver for LO I/Q differential signal generation. The receiver consumes 56 mA at 1.4 V supply voltage including all LO buffers. Measured results show a power gain of 32 dB, a noise figure of 4.8 dB, a output $P_{1dB}$ of +6 dBm over the entire band.

In this paper, a K-band local oscillator composed of a VCDRO(Voltage Controlled Dielectric Resonator Oscillator), GaAs MESFET, and Reflector type frequency doubler has been designed and fabricated. TO obtain a good phase noise performance of a VCDRO, a active device was selected with a low noise figure and a low flicker noise MESFET and a dielectric resonator was used for selecting stable and high oscillation frequency. Especially, to have a higher conversion gain than a conventional doubler as well as a good harmonic suppression performance with circuit size reduced a doubler structure was employed as the Reflector type composed of a reflector and a open stub of quarter wave length for rejecting the unwanted harmonics. The measured results of fabricated oscillator show that the output power was 5.8 dBm at center frequency 12.05 GHz and harmonic suppression -37.98 dBc, Phase noise -114 dBc at 100 KHz offset frequency, respectively, and measured results show of fabricated frequency doubler, the output power at 5.8 dBm of input power is 1.755 dBm conversion gain 1.482 dB, harmonic suppression -33.09 dBc, phase noise -98.23 dBc at 100 KHz offset frequency, respectively. This oscillator could be available to a local oscillator in K-band which used frequency doubler techniques.
