프랜차이즈 기업의 지식경영 전략 : 파리바게뜨 사례를 중심으로 (Knowledge Management Strategy of a Franchise Business : The Case of a Paris Baguette Bakery)

  • 기업에 경쟁우위를 가져다주는 많은 자원들 중에서 특히 지식(knowledge)은 생산 활동을 위해 다른 자원을 변화시키거나 확보할 수 있도록 만드는 중요한 자원으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 조직 내 지식은 다양한 형태로 존재하고, 다양한 장소나 개인에게 산재해 있기 때문에, 이를 통합하고 체계적으로 활용하기 위한 기업의 전사적 관리 활동이 필요하다. 특히 지식관리시스템(KMS: knowledge management systems)은 조직 내 지식을 창조하고, 공유하고, 적절히 사용함으로써 지식관리 프로세스를 지원하고 조직이 가진 지식자원의 가치를 극대화하여 기업의 학습조직화와 성과 증진을 이끌 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 대표적인 프랜차이즈 기업인 파리바게뜨의 성공적인 지식관리시스템운영 사례를 분석하여 프랜차이즈 기업들의 지식경영을 강화 및 지식관리시스템(KMS) 구축과 개선을 위한 구체적인 시사점을 제안하고자 하였다. 결과적으로 최고경영층의 관심과 지원, 능동적인 지식 공유와 활용을 위한 학습조직 문화, 네트워크 활성화를 통한 지식의 변환, 정보기술, 지식경영의 내재화를 위한 촉진제도와 보상이라는 5가지 주요 요인이 프랜차이즈 기업의 지식관리시스템의 성공적 운영을 위해 반드시 고려되어야 하는 요인임을 밝혀낼 수 있었다.

지식전달체계가 거래만족과 사업성과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Knowledge Management Activities on Transaction Satisfaction and Business Performance)

  • Purpose: The franchise system started by Singer Sewing Machine in the US is acting as a national economic growth engine in terms of job creation and economic growth. In China, the franchise system was introduced in the mid-1980s. And since joining the WTO, it has grown by 5-6% every year. However, compared to the growth rate of franchises, studies on shared growth between the chain headquarters and franchisees were insufficient. Accordingly, recent studies related to shared growth between the chain headquarters and franchisees have been active in China. The purpose of this study is to examine the knowledge transfer system between the knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, and the use of knowledge by franchise chain headquarters in China. In addition, the relationship between franchise satisfaction and performance is identified. Research design, data, and methodology: The data were collected from franchise stores in Sichuan, China, and were conducted with the help of ○○ Incubation, a Sichuan Province-certified incubator. From November 2020 to January 2021, 350 copies of the questionnaire were distributed in China, and 264 copies were returned. Of these, 44 copies with insincere answers and response errors were excluded, and 222 copies were used for analysis. The data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical packages. Result: The results of this study are as follows. First, knowledge creation has been shown to have a statistically significant impact on knowledge sharing and knowledge utilization. In particular, the effectiveness of knowledge creation was higher in knowledge sharing than in knowledge utilization. And we can see that knowledge sharing also has a statistically significant e ffect on knowledge utilization. Second, knowledge sharing was not significant for transaction satisfaction and business performance, and knowledge utilization was significant for transaction satisfaction and business performance. These results can be said to mean less interdependence of the Chinese franchise system. Finally, transaction satisfaction was statistically significant to business performance. The purpose of this study was to examine the importance of knowledge management to secure long-term competitive advantage for Chinese franchises. This study shows that knowledge sharing is important for long-term franchise growth. And we can see that there is a lack of knowledge sharing methods in the case of franchises in China. I n addition, it was found that the growth of Chinese franchises requires systematization of communication, information sharing measures and timing, help from chain headquarters, and mutual responsibility awareness.

프랜차이즈 브랜드에서 모델의 매력성 및 적합성이 브랜드 태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Attractiveness and Match-Up of Model on Brand Attitude and Purchase Intention of Franchise Brands)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of model attractiveness on brand attitude and purchase intention, and examine whether product-model match-up plays a moderating role in the relationship between model attractiveness and brand attitude and purchase intention. The model attractiveness is consist of psychological and physical attractiveness of the model. The authors investigate how product-model match-up influence the strength of the relationship between model attractiveness - brand attitude and purchase intention. The purpose of this is to test whether product-model match-up influence the form and effectiveness of a model attractiveness on brand attitude and purchase intention and suggest the effective and efficient methods in the model selection strategies to increase advertising effectiveness based on the results of this study. Research design, data, and methodology - The experimental design for this study was the between subject design based on 2 group of the psychological attractiveness(high vs. low) × product-model match-up(high vs low) and 2 group of the physical attractiveness(high vs. low) × product-model match-up(high vs low). And a preliminary investigation was conducted to develop experimental stimuli through manipulation check to enhance the external validity of experimental research. The attractiveness of the model and product-model match-up are independent variables and manipulative variables in presentation of experimental stimuli. The self-administered methode experiment was conducted on 300 subjects in four groups constructed according to the independent variables. Result - The findings provide partial support for a moderator for product-model match-up on the model attractiveness - brand attitude and purchase intention. First, the influence of psychological attractiveness and physical attractiveness on brand attitude and purchase intention was shown significant. Also, it was found that the average value of brand attitude and purchase intention according to psychological attractiveness was significantly higher than the average value of brand attitude and purchase intention according to physical attractiveness in additional analysis. Second, the average value of brand attitude and purchase intention were higher when product - model match-up was high in both high and low psychological attractiveness and physical attractiveness of the model. However, in the case of psychological attractiveness, the correlation effect with product - model match-up was significant, but in the case of physical attractiveness, it was not significant. Conclusions - The results of this study suggest that the attractiveness factor should be considered in selecting the ad model by verifying the effect of the attractiveness of the model on the advertising effect. In particular, this study has great significance both academically and practically in terms of suggesting such implications that the advertising effect of psychological attractiveness and physical attractiveness may be different depending on the product type by additional analysis.

프랜차이즈 본사의 협동지향성과 관계파워가 갈등해결전략과 신뢰 그리고 관계성과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cooperative Orientation and Relationship Power on Conflict Resolution Strategy and Relationship Performance)

  • Purpose - In recent years, research has been conducted on the conflict resolution strategies of the franchise headquarters and the franchisees, but there is a lack of research on how the power structure and cultural factors play a role in resolving conflicts. From this perspective, this study is to examine the structural relationship between franchisors' cultural orientation and relationship power, and conflict resolution strategies, relationship trust, and relationship performance using. The findings of this study suggest how franchise headquarters should establish long-term relationship with franchisees and share information. Research design, data, methodology - The data were collected from April 1 to April 15, 2013. Because this study examined franchise industries from the franchisee perspective, we contacted franchisee store owner and managers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Interviewers trained contacted a total of 200 franchisees, and 196 franchisees responded. Out of 196 respondents, 13 respondents were deleted due to missing information. Thus, a total of 183 franchisee were used for this study. he data were analyzed using frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equational modeling with SPSS 24.0 and Amos 23.0 statistical program. Results - The results showed that cooperation orientation and relational power of franchisor had significant effects on conflict resolution strategies. Cooperating, obliging, and compromising strategies of conflict resolution strategy had significant effects on relationship trust. Also, relationship trust had significant effect on relationship performance. Conclusions - This study shows that the franchise headquarters and the franchisees share necessary information for common purposes and that continuous two-way communications play an important role in resolving conflicts. In other words, the result of this study suggests that if the franchise headquarters and the franchisee actively consider the position of the other party and strive to achieve the goal, conflict resolution may be more successful. In order to do this, the franchise headquarters will have to consider how to build and maintain continuous communication with the franchisees, and continuous education is also needed so that employees can have a cooperative attitude. However, since the culture of these organizations is not made up of simple staff training and is not formed within a short time, the CEO of the franchisee headquarters should take the lead in establishing a cooperative culture with the merchants over the long term.

외식프랜차이즈 가맹점의 지각된 공정성이 응집성, 관계만족, 그리고 가맹점의 장기지향성에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Foodservice Franchisee's Perceived Justice on Cohesiveness, Relationship Satisfaction, and Franchisee's Long-Term Orientation)

  • Purpose - This study examines the role of foodservice franchisee's perceived justice(distributive, procedural, and interactional) in developing long-term orientation to franchisor and investigate the mediating role of cohesiveness and relationship satisfaction in the relationship between franchisee's perceived justice and long-term orientation to franchisor. Research design, data, and methodology - We collected data from managers and owners in foodservice franchisees located in Seoul, Korea. Among a total of 500 questionnaires, 500 questionnaires were returned. After excluding 36 invalid respondent questionnaires, 496 valid questionnaires(response rate of 99.2%) were analyzed using frequency, confirmatory factor analysis, correlations analysis, and structural equation modeling with SPSS 21 and SmartPLS 3.0. Result - The findings of this study are as follows: First, distributive justice and interactional justice had positive effects on cohesiveness, but procedural justice did not. Second, distributive justice and interactional justice had positive effects on relationship satisfaction, but procedural justice did not. Third, cohesiveness and relationship satisfaction had positive effects on franchisee's long-term orientation to franchisor. Conclusions - The implications of this study are as follows. First, this study found that procedural justice can create a high cohesiveness and identification of franchisee and also maintain a cooperative relationship with the franchisor. Second, this findings suggest that the perceived distributional and interactional justice can improve the satisfaction with the franchisor and thus positively influence the intention to maintain the relationship and the intention to recontract. Third, the results of this study indicate that the cohesiveness of franchisees can play a pivotal role to improve their satisfaction with the franchisor and pursue mutual development by continuously maintaining stable business relationship with franchisor. The findings of this study are subject to at least three limitations. First, the research subject is limited to the food service franchise shops in Seoul area, so the sample was not nationally representative of the franchise stores. Second, the perceived fairness is measured only from the point of view of the franchisee, and this study has a limitation to examine the difference between the perceived franchisee's and franchisor's justice. Third, Future research needs to identify more closely the relationships between perceived fairness and long-term orientation by gathering specific quantitative data such as the renewal rate and the business performance.

근거리 무선 통신기술을 활용한 언택트 모바일 주문 결제 시스템 (Untact Mobile Order Payment System Using Short Range Wireless Communication Technology)

  • 현대 사회에는 스마트폰을 사용하는 사람들이 대다수이며, 이들의 편의성을 위한 모바일 주문 및 결제 시스템들에 대한 부분이 두각 되어 가고 있다. 모바일 결제 시장은 점점 증가하는 추세이며 중국에서는 71%가 넘는 시장이 이미 형성되어 있다. 국내에서도 많은 모바일 결제 시장이 성장하는 추세인데 이는 대규모 프랜차이즈에서 밖에는 제공되지 않는 시스템으로서 보편적으로 보기에는 어려운 감이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 프랜차이즈뿐만이 아닌 소규모 업소에서도 쉽게 사용이 가능하면서도 현대 사회에서 요구되는 사용자들의 편의성을 위해 근거리 무선 통신 기술을 활용한 모바일 주문 및 결제 시스템과 이에 더해 언택트 마케팅에 대한 소비자들의 요구 사항 또한 충족할 시스템을 제안한다. 근거리 무선 통신 기술을 통해 개발된 디바이스와 스마트폰, 메인 서버간의 통신을 이용하여 모바일을 통한 주문 및 결제가 가능한 시스템을 제작한다.

프랜차이즈 분쟁계약상 사전중재합의에 관한 법리적 검토 (Judicial Review on Pre-arbitration Agreement in Terms to Resolve Franchise Dispute)

  • A franchise business is a business in which the owners, or "franchisors," sell the rights to their business logo, name, and model to third party retail outlets, owned by independent, third party operators, called "franchisees." There are a number of features in franchising or terms in franchise agreements that may lead to disputes between franchisors and franchisees. These disputes may arise because of underlying risks in the franchise relationship, franchise agreement, or conduct of the parties. In this case, ADR is an effective way to resolve disputes in a quicker and often less costly way than having to go to court. If an agreement cannot be reached through mediation, then arbitration becomes the next step to resolving the differences. Whereas mediation is non-binding and focused on facilitating the parties to find a resolution that is acceptable to both, arbitration is binding and may result in a decision that is not acceptable to one of the parties. These situations can be resolved through experienced arbitration as arbitration allows franchisees to settle matters promptly and outside of the public eye. In addition, franchise dispute arbitration is usually less costly than going to traditional court. Considering all of these, reaching an agreement will also have typical clauses that address the issue of dispute resolution. It is again a more efficient process than going through the legal process and courts and is often less costly. By going through arbitration, the parties agree to give up their rights to pursue the dispute in the courts. However, there is a problem that the arbitration prior to the agreement and under the terms would be contrary to the restriction of jurisdiction under the "ACT ON THE REGULATION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS" in Korea.

교육콘텐츠 특성과 기업 조직특성이 교육전이 및 조직효과성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 프랜차이즈기업 대상의 온-오프라인 교육 훈련에 따른 비교 (A Study on the Effect of the Contents and Organization Characteristics on Learning Transfer and Organizational Effectiveness: A Comparison of On/Off Education on Franchise Enterprises)

  • 기업 교육훈련은 조직구성원 및 조직의 성과 향상을 위해서 시행되나 실제 교육훈련의 성과는 기대한 만큼 나타나고 있지 않다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 기업 내 교육성과를 피교육자의 조직몰입도와 업무성과로 정의하고 이에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대해 연구함으로써 성과 창출을 위해 기업 교육훈련 설계 시 고려해야 하는 것들을 제안한다. 우선 기업 교육훈련에서 제공되는 교육콘텐츠 특성으로서의 과제가치와 직무연관성, 그리고 기업 내 교육훈련에 대한 지원 정도인 조직특성이 피교육자의 교육전이에 영향을 끼치는 지 확인한다. 이후, 교육전이로부터 조직몰입 및 업무성과로의 인과관계를 분석한다. 이 과정에서 온/오프라인 교육의 조절효과가 있는지 분석하여 교육 전달 방법에 따른 효과성의 차이가 있는지 검증한다. 연구결과, 교육의 과제가치, 직무연관성, 조직보상이 교육전이에, 교육전이가 조직몰입 및 업무성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 온/오프라인 교육간 차이가 있음을 입증하였다. 본 연구는 프랜차이즈 기업을 대상으로 수행하여 표본의 한계가 존재하며, 향후 대표성을 지닌 표본이나 전문직종의 집단을 대상으로 연구를 확장할 예정이다.

한식 프랜차이즈 가맹점의 서비스 품질 동일성 유지가 고객 만족 및 행동 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Uniformity of Franchisee Service Quality on Customer Satisfaction and Behavioral Intention in Korean Franchise Restaurants)

  • 국내 프랜차이즈 레스토랑들은 자체 내의 서비스 품질 메뉴얼을 갖추고 그에 따른 동일화된 서비스를 제공하여 서비스의 질적 수준을 향상시키고자 노력하고 있지만 여전히 본점과 가맹점 간의 차이를 보이고 있다. 본 연구는 가맹점의 서비스 동일성에 대한 노력이 고객 만족과 행동 의도에 미치는 영향을 알아봄으로써, 외식업체의 고객 만족 경영에 도움이 되고자 한다. 연구의 목적에 맞게 모형과 가설을 설정한 뒤 설문조사는 2008년 4월 1일부터 30일까지 30일간 하였고, 총 279부(회수율 93.0%)를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서비스 품질 동일성 유지가 고객 만족에 미치는 영향은 독립변수 중 종업원 서비스 동일성, 브랜드 동일성, 공간 배치 및 기능성 동일성이 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 이 중 종업원 서비스 동일성이 가장 영향력이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 서비스 품질의 동일성 유지가 행동 의도에 미치는 영향은 서비스 품질의 동일성이 잘 이루어질수록 고객의 재방문의도와 추천 의도가 높아짐을 알 수 있었고, 이중 메뉴 동일성 유지가 가장 큰 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 고객 만족이 행동 의도에 미치는 영향은 고객 만족이 높을수록 행동 의도가 높아짐을 알 수 있었다.

최적의 입지유형에 위치한 점포의 5년 이상 생존에 미치는 영향 -편의점 사례 중심-

  • 이 연구의 목적은 실제 창업하여 5년 이상 생존한 편의점이 최적의 입지유형에 위치한 것이 크다는 영향을 증명하는데 있다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울 주요 지역의 5년 이상 생존 점포 사례를 본인과 지인의 사례 점포, A 메이저 프랜차이즈 편의점 직원이 제공한 자료를 토대로 연구 결과를 분석하고 실제 창업 생존률을 높이는데 도움을 주고자 한다. 실증분석결과, 첫째로 입지요인은 편의점 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 최적의 입지유형에 위치한 점포는 5년 이상 생존하는데 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 최적의 입지유형에 위치한 편의점 창업은 5년 이상 생존하는데 상당한 영향을 미치므로 입지유형에 대한 인식과 실전 적용은 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 전체 창업시장으로 보면 편의점과 같이 상품의 동질성이 높은 업종이나 위치에 중점을 둔 창업인 경우 까지 확대하여 창업가의 실패를 줄이고 장기적 생존률을 높일 수 있는 연구가 확대 되어야 할 것이다.
