  • It is not an easy matter to develop problems which help students understand mathematical concepts correctly and precisely. The aim of this paper is to review the merits and demerits of three problem types (i.e. one answer problems, multiple choice problems and proof problems) and to suggest some points that should be taken into consideration in problem making. First, we presented the merits and demerits of three types of problems by examining actual examples. Second, we discussed some examples of misleading problems and the ways to make desirable ones. Finally, on the basis of our examination and discussion, we suggested some points that should be kept in mind in problem making. The major suggestions are as follows; i) In making one answer problems, we should consider the possibility of sitting a solution by wrong precesses, ii) In formulating multiple choice tests which are layered for their easiness of grading, we should take into account the importance of checking whether the students are fully understanding the concepts, iii) We may depend on the previous research result that multiple choice tests for proof problems can be helpful for the students who have insufficient math background. Besides those suggestions, we made an overall proposal that we should endeavor to find ways to implement the demerits of each problem type and to develop instructive problems that can help students understanding of math.

  • More informative ones of heuristics can help to conduct search more efficiently to obtain solution plan. However, in general, to derive highly informative heuristics from problem specifications requires lots of computational effort. To address this problem, we propose an State-Action based Planning Graph(SAPG) and Action-based heuristics for solving planning problems more efficiently. The SAPG is an extended one to be applied to can find interactions between subgoal & goal conditions from the relaxed planning graph which is a common means to get heuristics for solving the planning problems, Action-based heuristics utilizing SAPG graphs can find interactions between subgoal & goal conditions in an effective way, and then consider them to estimate the goal distance. Therefore Action-based heuristics have more information than the existing max and additive heuristics, also requires less computational effort than the existing overlap heuristics. In this pager. we present the algorithm to compute Action-based heuristics, and then explain empirical analysis to investigate the accuracy and the efficiency of the Action-based heuristics.

  • This paper tries to analyze how effective the problem posing method through Brainwriting can be on mathematical problem solving and creativity as a way to seek a new pedagogy to enhance student problem solving levels and creativity in mathematics. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows: First, the Brainwriting problem posing method improved students' abilities to alter problems, suggest new problems from multi-perspectives, and solve them. All procedures for such were obtained through discussions among group members. Second, the Brainwriting problem posing method resulted in positive effects on fluency and originality among components of creativity, but not on flexibility. That is, studying mathematics with this method helped students develop creativity levels not in terms of flexibility but of fluency and originality. Third, the interest rate in mathematics learning rose for those who studied mathematics by adopting the Brainwriting problem posing method. Finally, this study caused the Brainwriting problem posing method to be more deeply understood and appreciated from a new perspective.

  • Advanced internet service and smart equipment have caused an environment supporting various online learning anytime and anywhere, which requires learning contents optimized on a new media. Among various on/off line education related to IT, most part if it is office SW. Many oh them cannot make a good education for effective training in practical because many instructors are tend to focus on teaching simple function and use examples of formality repeatedly. In this paper we propose a new office SW education system that make use of LET(Live EduTainer) based on RTE(Real Training Environment) which maximize the effect of learning and it is integrated with GBL(Game Based Learning) which gives rise to interesting in a knowledge as well as simple teaching so that learners are absorbed on it. We'll elaborate a method for teaching and learning required in this system, design and configuration of the system.

  • This paper interprets the social and cultural significance of the "landscape" in North Korea by exploring the object and context of the text referring to the "landscape" in North Korean literature. To this end, the paper first classified the objects describing "landscapes" in serial publications and newspaper articles by types and grouped them according to trend. As a result, the social and cultural significance of the "landscape" in North Korea can be divided among "Projection Object of Orthodoxy", "Visuality extended to the City" and "Visible Socialist-Fairyland". First, in an article about Baekdusan (Mt. Baekdu), "landscape" was used as a medium to prove the legitimacy of the successor. Next, in the Kim Jong-Un regime, "landscape" was used as a word to describe the visual interactions by human economic activities. Finally, as a way to visualize the achievements in the landscape sector, a term for ranking landscapes such as "Socialist-Fairyland" was adopted during Kim Jong-Un's reign. This can be interpreted as one of the devices visualizing the "landscape" and is clearly distinguished from the past.

  • In this paper, we propose a SW-EDU bot, a chatbot learning model for coding education by using a chatbot system. The same scenario-based models are created on the basis of Dialogflow and Kakao i Open Builder, which are representative chatbot builders. And then a SW-EDU bot is designed and implemented by selecting the builder more appropriate to our purpose. The implemented chatbot system aims to learn effective learning methods while encouraging self-direction of users by providing learning type selection, concept learning, and problem solving by difficulty level. In order to compare the usability of chatbot builders, five indicators are selected, and based on these, a builder with a comparative advantage is selected, and SW-EDU bot is implemented based on these. Through usability evaluation, we analyze the feasibility of SW-EDU bot as a learning support tool and confirm the possibility of using it as a new coding education learning tool.

  • With the development of e-learning teaching methods, the demand for blended learning, which combines face-to-face education and e-learning, is increasing, and it shows a learning effect that can replace the existing face-to-face class. Engineering subjects have various learning activities such as practice, so it is not easy to operate them with traditional blended learning. Therefore, a different teaching and learning design is required according to the learning activities required for the subject. In this paper, examples of teaching method design and operation for blended learning in engineering subjects were introduced, and their effects investigated and analyzed. Learning activities were subdivided into theoretical classes, practical classes, quizzes and Q&A, assignments and solutions, and teaching and learning methods such as online videos, LMS utilization, and face-to-face classes were applied according to learning activities. According to the results of the student satisfaction survey, blended learning showed higher satisfaction than pure online and face-to-face classes in engineering subjects, and showed differentiated satisfaction for each learning activity.

  • Many students have experienced difficulties due to the discontinuity in instruction between arithmetic and algebra, and in the field of elementary education, algebra is often treated somewhat implicitly. However, algebra must be learned as algebraic thinking in accordance with the developmental stage at the elementary level through the expansion of numerical systems, principles, and thinking. In this study, algebraic thinking-based classes were developed and conducted for 6th graders in elementary school, and the effect on the ability to solve word-problems in fraction division was analyzed. During the 11 instructional sessions, the students generalized the solution by exploring the relationship between the dividend and the divisor, and further explored generalized representations applicable to all cases. The results of the study confirmed that algebraic thinking-based classes have positive effects on their ability to solve fractional division word-problems. In the problem-solving process, algebraic thinking elements such as symbolization, generalization, reasoning, and justification appeared, with students discovering various mathematical ideas and structures, and using them to solve problems Based on the research results, we induced some implications for early algebraic guidance in elementary school mathematics.

  • Survey was carried out in paddy fields to investigate the dominance of weed species and weed occurrence on 200 fields of southern Gyeonggi region in Korea during the year 2013. We observed 3 species of grass, 5 species of sedge, and 11 species of broadleaf and other weeds. The most dominant weed species was Eleocharis kuroguwai, followed by Echinochloa crus-galli, Sagittaria trifolia, Monochoria vaginalis, Scirpus juncoides and Bidens tripartita. The dominance value of E. kuroguwai and B. tripartita decreased compared to the survey results performed in 2005 but that of M. vaginalis, S. juncoides, S. trifolia and E. crus-galli increased. Weed occurrence increased from 2.83 g in 2005 to 3.51 g in 2013 based on weed dry weight per m2m2. Occurrence ratio of annual weeds to perennial weeds changed from 45.2% : 54.8% in 2005 to 45.8% : 54.2% in 2013. If we analyze dominance of weed species based on the rice transplanting timing, E. kuroguwai and E. crus-galli were the most dominant weed species at mid-May transplanting, and M. vaginalis and S. juncoides were the most dominant weed species at late- May transplanting, and M. vaginalis and E. kuroguwai were the most dominant weed species at early-June transplanting. Since paddy weeds resistant to sulfonylurea herbicides are expected to be continuously increased, the regular monitoring of their occurrence and efficient control methods should be considered in future.
