A Qualitative Study on the College Life Adaptation obstacle of Adult Undergraduate (성인대학생 대학생활적응장애에 관한 질적연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore what obstacles adult undergraduate experience in adapting to college life. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with 32 adult undergraduate attending colleges in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. For the study, Colaizzi's phenomenological research method was used and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, eight factors such as relation obstacle, bachelor's and curriculum operation obstacle, social recognition obstacle, study ability obstacle, college environment obstacle, economic obstacle, personal disposition obstacle, and temporal obstacle were found. Through the above research results, it was found that the college environment, which is operated mainly by general college students, is expressed as various types of obstacle for adult undergraduate who work and study at various ages and experiences. Based on the derived obstacle factors, it is expected that a follow-up study will be conducted to develop a measurement tool that can empirically explore the obstacle of adult undergraduate to adapt to college life.

A model for enhancing the academic excellence of adult college students (성인대학생의 학업수월성 강화를 위한 모형)

  • The purpose of this study is to present a model for enhancing the academic excellence of adult college students. For this purpose, 408 adult college students attending 2-year and 4-year colleges in Busan, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk were surveyed and analyzed. The components of the model are curriculum, educational methods, evaluation of education, educational administration, educational environment, and institutional support and the results are as follows. First, the curriculum preferred by adult college students was to acquire diverse academic knowledge for a degree, to acquire knowledge and skills to develop skills for the workplace, and to acquire new information and knowledge regarding issues in society as a whole. Second, the professors' qualification among the educational methods preferred by adult college students was professional competence of the professors based on their theoretical and practical skills. The preferred teaching methods were lecture, discussion, action learning, and the project learning method in that order and video and PowerPoint were preferred as effective teaching mediums. Third, the preferred course for adult college students is operated on weekends, and three years was preferred to get a bachelor's degree. The possible hours of learning per day is 3~6 hours, indicating the necessity of e-learning, B-learning, and prior learning experience recognition systems. Fourth, the education evaluation method preferred by adult college students was a compromise method which is a mixture of absolute evaluation and relative evaluation, and it also showed the need for Pass or Non Pass evaluation method. Fifth, the internal factors of college selection preferred by adult college students were the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, and the external factors were desire to receive many opportunities related to employment and job improvement. The classroom, which provides an effective environment, was a fixed seat classroom and an indoor classroom environment was emphasized for desired educational environment. Sixth, institutional support preferred by adult college students was computer-related programs and learning club support services.

포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 이용한 취학 전 아동과 어머니의 식습관 상호관련성 분석

  • 식습관이나 식품 기호도는 식품의 선택에 있어서 중요한 변수이며 어릴 때 형성이 되는 어린이의 식품 기호도는 부모의 태도에 크게 영향을 받는다. 특히 유아기는 사회적, 인지적 능력이 발달하고 모방을 통하여 학습되는 시기이므로 이 시기의 식품에 대한 올바른 인식과 경험은 평생의 건강을 위해서도 부모의 역할은 중요하다. 근래 과잉 영양과 관련된 비만이 우려되고 있지만 아직도 유아에서는 부적절한 식사패턴으로 인한 영양소 결핍이 문제가 되고 있다. 선행 연구에서 유아나 어린이의 식습관이 부모, 특히 어머니의 영향을 많이 받는다고 지적하고 있지만 상호 관련에 대한 연구는 미흡하다. 또한 ‘무엇’과 ‘얼마나 많이’ 등이 중점이 되었던 양적 연구에서 이제는 ‘어떻게’ ‘왜’라는 것에 관심을 두는 사례연구의 중요성이 대두되고 있으므로 본 연구에서는 취학전 아동의 식습관과 영양상태에 관한 질적 연구로써 어머니와의 상호 관련성을 알아보고자 하였다. 대구, 부산지역에 거주하는 4∼7세 유아와 그 어머니(각 15명)를 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하고 유아와 1:1면담을 실시하였다. 어머니들의 식품구매에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인은 어머니 자신의 기호도와 편리, 가치관으로 나타났다. 유아와 어머니의 식품기호도를 조사한 결과 좋아하는 식품의 경우 두 군 모두 육류의 선호도가 높았다. 싫어하는 식품은 어머니의 경우에는 ‘없다’가 73%이었으나 유아의 경우에는 ‘야채류’가 73%이었다. 유아와 어머니의 식품 기호도 일치정도는 좋아하는 식품이 67%, 싫어하는 식품이 33%로 나타났다. 유아는 야채류를 싫어한다고 대답하면서도 건강에 좋은 식품을 ‘야채류’라고 생각하고 있었다 유아의 특정 식품의 선호도나 거부의 주된 이유는 ‘맛’이었으며, 유아의 편식습관은 어머니가 간편성 위주, 가족의 기호도 만을 고려하여 식단을 구성하는 것과 관련이 있었다. 조사대상 유아의 33%가 비타민제, 47%가 칼슘제제를 복용하고 있었으며 27%가 근래에 보약을 복용한 경험이 있었다. 어머니들은 영양제나 보약이 유아의 건강 유지에 많은 도움이 된다고 여기고 있었고 어머니의 임신 중 식품섭취나 이유기의 식품경험정도가 어린이의 식품 기호도에 영향을 미친다고 생각하고 있었다. 어머니가 식품구매시 질적으로 고려하는 부분은 건강과 관련된 무농약 식품, 인스턴트 식품 제한, 외식의 절제가 대부분 어머니의 관심사였다. 본 연구에서 어머니는 유아의 식습관과 식품기호도에 크게 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었으며, 유아 영양교육에서 어머니의 참여와 식품에 대한 인식 개선은 유아의 영양수준 개선에 필수적이라고 생각된다.

Key Factors of Talented Scientists' Growth and ExpeI1ise Development (과학인재의 성장 및 전문성 발달과정에서의 영향 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to explore key factors of expertise development of talented scientists who achieved outstanding research performance according to the stages of expertise development and dimensions of individual-domain-field. To fulfill the research purpose, 31 domestic scientists who were awarded major prizes in the field of science were interviewed in-depth from March to September, 2007. Stages of expertise development were analyzed in light of Csikszentmihalyi's IDFI (individual-domain-field interaction) model. Self-directed learning, multiple interests and finding strength, academic and liberal home environment, and meaningful encounter were major factors affecting expertise development in the exploration stage. In the beginner stage, independence, basic knowledge on major, and thirst for knowledge at university affected expertise development. Task commitment, finding flow, finding their field of interest and lifelong research topic, and mentor in formal education were the affecting factors in the competent stage. Finally, placing priority, communication skills, pioneering new domain, expansion of the domain, and evaluation and support system affected talented scientists' expertise development in the leading stage. The meaning of major patterns of expertise development were analyzed and described. Based on these analyses, educational implications for nurturing scientists were suggested.

Developing and Applying the Questionnaire to Measure Science Core Competencies Based on the 2015 Revised National Science Curriculum (2015 개정 과학과 교육과정에 기초한 과학과 핵심역량 조사 문항의 개발 및 적용)

  • This study was conducted to develop items to measure scientific core competency based on statements of scientific core competencies presented in the 2015 revised national science curriculum and to identify the validity and reliability of the newly developed items. Based on the explanations of scientific reasoning, scientific inquiry ability, scientific problem-solving ability, scientific communication ability, participation/lifelong learning in science presented in the 2015 revised national science curriculum, 25 items were developed by five science education experts. To explore the validity and reliability of the developed items, data were collected from 11,348 students in elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide. The content validity, substantive validity, the internal structure validity, and generalization validity proposed by Messick (1995) were examined by various statistical tests. The results of the MNSQ analysis showed that there were no nonconformity in the 25 items. The confirmatory factor analysis using the structural equation modeling revealed that the five-factor model was a suitable model. The differential item functioning analyses by gender and school level revealed that the nonconformity DIF value was found in only two out of 175 cases. The results of the multivariate analysis of variance by gender and school level showed significant differences of test scores between schools and genders, and the interaction effect was also significant. The assessment items of science core competency based on the 2015 revised national science curriculum are valid from a psychometric point of view and can be used in the science education field.

The Person-organization Fit and the Person-job Fit of Public Officials in Charge of Social Welfare Impact on Job Enthusiasm: Focused on the Mediation Effect of Organizational Committment (사회복지전담공무원의 개인-조직적합성과 개인-직무적합성이 직무열의에 미치는 영향: 조직몰입의 매개효과)

  • In this paper, we wanted to look at the effects of person-organization fit and person-job fit of social welfare officials on the job enthusiasm, but also examine the mediated effect of organizational committment. The study found that person-job fit has a positive effect on the job enthusiasm of public officials in charge of social welfare, and that the mediating effect of organizational committment is also partially covered. However, person-organization fit does not have a direct impact on job enthusiasm, but has been shown to have a full mediated effect through organizational committment. As a result of these studies, social welfare officials are judged to lack consistency and affinity within the organization, while their individual abilities, purposes, and demands are in line with their duties and job enthusiasm for their duties. Therefore, it is necessary to provide support at the organizational level and to create a sense of unity in order to enhance the job enthusiasm of public officials in charge of social welfare.
