In this paper, a new HTF(Harmonic torque function) which takes into account the phasor of harmonic current, and which represents torque ripple content of induction motor is proposed. Through experiments and computer simulations using direct-quadrature two axis model, the proposed HTF is proved to be valid. Applying this function, six-step, SPWM and TPWM pulse-amplitude-width-controlled inverters are evaluated and compared with each other. A good control strategy for PAWM inverters was chosen from the results. It turns out that TPWM is superior to SPWM in torqur ripple content and output voltage amplitude of fundamental wave and six-step is better than PWM when CR is 9.

This thesis is proposing novel RPWM(Random PWM) techniques that can locate PWM pulse to do random. RPWM techniques to propose locates SVPWM(Space Vector PWM) pulse by number of each random and principle to locate of pulse applies different random function and locate pulse. For propriety verification of proposed techniques, achieve an simulation and experiment that use MATLAB/SIMULINK about proposed RPWM techniques algorithm and IGBT inverter composition that use DSP(TMS320C31). Specially, analyze harmonic spectra of inverter output current when the induction motor speed is more than 10,000 rpm, confirm that RPWM's effect in high speed degree appears. Proposed RPWM techniques propriety prove from reduction effect of harmonic magnitude that corresponds to an integer times of switching frequency.

The propagation properties of various pulse signal types(square pulse, Gaussian pulse, trapezoid pulse, RF pulse) on coupled microstrip lines are investigated. Numerical integration technique which has its accuracy and is easily simulated, is used to obtain the time domain response of pulse signals. Frequency-dependent characteristics of coupled microstrip line is obtained using Jansen's approximate equation. The propagation properties of pulse signal on coupled microstrip lines is analyzed regarding to its geometric structure (relative permittivity ${varepsilon}_r$ substrate height h, strip width w of the microstrip line) and pulse width ${\tau}$ of signal pulse. The simulation results show that space between two lines is very significant parameter in pulse distortion in comparison of any other parameters. The results of this paper are compatible to the trade-off determination of relative permittivity, substrate height, strip width and pulse width of signal pulse when a design of MIC and MMIC is necessary.
This paper describes the jamming effect of phase-coded pulse compression(PCPC) radar. Barker code radar, a typical PCPC radar, separates transmission pulses into 13 or 31 small pulses and phase modulates and transmits each pulse signal to increase radar detection efficiency and reduce the influence of jamming. Generally, when the radar is subjected to jamming, the detection distance becomes shorter and the detection error rate becomes higher. In the case of noise jamming or carrier jamming on the PCPC radar, the jamming effect is very small for no phase-coded convergence. However, the jamming effect is large in the case of synchronous jamming using the pulse-coded signal as a jamming signal with DRFM. It can be seen that the jamming effect increases when the storage time of the pulse-coded signal is prolonged. This study is considered to be useful for PCPC radar and EW jamming system design.

In this paper, a comparative study on the performance of two-phase and three-phase randomized pulse position PWM scheme for mitigation of audible switching acoustic noise in motor drives is done. In the randomized Pulse Position PW, each of two-Phase or three-phase PWM Pulses is located randomly in each switching interval. Simulation and experimental efforts were executed to investigate the spread effects of Power spectra of inverter output voltage, waveforms of ripple current and audible switching acoustic noise. As results, two-phase RP% scheme is more effective from the viewpoint of switching loss and ease of implementation while the three-phase RPWM scheme is more effective from the viewpoint of the spread effects of power spectra. Also, from the view point of the audible switching acoustic noise in motor drives, two-phase and three-phase RPW schemes are nearly the same.

The present study is to investigate the propagation characteristics of the impulse waves discharged from the exit of the convergent and divergent pipes. An experiment is carried out using a shock tube with an open end and is compared to the computation of the axisymmetric, compressible, unsteady Euler equations, which are solved by the second-order total variation diminishing (TVD) scheme. For the computational work, several initial compression waves are assumed inside the pipe so that those are the same to the experimental ones of the shock tube. The results show that the peak pressures of the impulse waves discharged from the exit of convergent and divergent pipes decrease with an increase in the wavelength of the initial compression wave. All of the impulse waves have a strong directivity toward the pipe axis, regardless of the exit type of the pipe employed. The impulse waves discharged from the divergent pipe are stronger than those from the straight pipe, while the impulse waves of the convergent pipe are weaker than those from the straight pipe. It is found that the convergent pipe can play a role of a passive control to reduce the peak pressure of the impulse wave. The present computations represent the experimented impulse waves with a good accuracy.

This paper itltroduces a simple stair-case PWM using the pseudo-sinusoidal method. In a configuration of controller, the value of sine as a fundamental factor divided into stair-case level and the three-phase PWM inverter is composed by digital compound for each value of stair-case level. The three-phase output pulse at a fixed carrier frequency and a variable reference frequency is obtained under the effect of reduced harmonics. In this experiment, using the power FET as the switching device, 0.5 H.P. induction motor operation is performed when the switching frequency is 20KHz.
Tei-index has been reported as one of reliable echocardiographic factors for evaluating cardiac function in human and small animals. In this study, Tei-index were measured and evaluated with other echocardiographic parameters in normal thirteen beagle dogs and thirty-one dogs with mitral valve degeneration. Normal range of Tei index with tissue Doppler obtained at septum and left ventricular free wall was $0.58{\pm}0.07$ and $0.60{\pm}0.07$, respectively. The values between septum and left ventricular free wall did not show significant difference. Tissue Doppler derived tei index showed better reproducibility and significantly lower values than the results obtained by pulsed wave Doppler. Tei index obtained in either method increased with the progression of clinical signs. Therefore, the increase of Tei index in dogs with mitral regurgitation is thought to be an useful factor reflecting left ventricular dysfunction.
At the most recent years, laser medical instruments, laser applications and laser nuclear fusion need strong visible light and ultraviolet rays. Nonlinear optical devices, such as harmonic generators and parametric oscillators, provide a means of extending the frequency range of available laser sources. Frequency conversion is a useful technique for extending the utility of high-power lasers. It utilizes the nonlinear optical response of an optical medium in intense radiation fields to generate new frequencies. These progresses have been used to generate high-power radiation in all spectral regions, from the ultraviolet to the far infrared. Optical parametric oscillators and amplifiers generate two waves of lower frequency They are capable of generating a range of wavelengths from a single frequency source, in some cases spanning the entire visible and near infrared regions. Consequently, in order to obtain the green light, the pulsed Nd:YAG laser using multiple-mesh PFN(Pulsed Forming Network) method with Nonlinear optical device was adopted. We compared the current pulseshapes with the laser output energy, and conversion efficiency.
