Lumped Model Parameter Estimation of Floating Mass Transducers based on Sequential Quadratic Programming Method for IMEHDs (Sequential Quadratic Programming 방법을 이용한 인공중이용 플로팅 매스 트랜스듀서의 집중 모델 파라미터 추정)

  • In this paper, the lumped element model parameter estimation method and its implemented estimation software for fabricated floating mass transducers of IMEHDs have been presented so that the estimated parameter values could be compared with the designed ones and applied to predict the output performance when the transducers were implanted into human ears. The presented method is based on the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) for estimating parameters in the transducer's lumped model and has been implemented by the use of LabVIEW graphical language. Using the implemented estimation software, the accuracy of parameter estimation has been verified and our implemented estimation method has been evaluated by the comparison of the estimated transducer parameter values with the designed ones for a practically fabricated floating mass transducer for IMEHDs.

  • This paper deals with the Quantitative Feedback Thoery(QFT) guaranteeing robustness in spite of the plant parametric uncertainty. In the frequency domain, the QFT guarantees the robustness of the design specification on the uncertainty of plant parameters and disturbance. In order to use the QFT, a selected plant is a Quad Rotor Vehicle(QRV) which has excellent maneuverability and possibility of vertical take-off and landing like the helicopter. And attitude control is examined the possibility satisfied the requirement specification under the setting parametric uncertainty of motors driving 4-blades. Additionally, in an attitude control, the pre-filter considering parameter range and operating range of a QRV was used. For these purpose, in this paper, by using QFTCT, that is the QFT Control Toolbox designing the controller in MATLAB by the QFT, each design phases are introduced.

  • To achieve an advanced control of automobiles, it is necessary to acquire the values of the parameters of a vehicle in real time to conduct precise vehicle control practices such as automatic platooning control. Vehicle control is especially required in controlling trucks, as the mass and inertia change widely according to the loading conditions. Thereafter, we propose to estimate the yaw moment of inertia of the truck in real-time during travelling, by applying the dual Kalman filter algorithm, which estimates the state variables and values of the parameters simultaneously in real-time. The simulation results show that the proposed method is effective for the estimation, which uses commercial software for simulating and analyzing the vehicle dynamics.

A Design of Parameterized Viterbi Decoder using Hardware Sharing (하드웨어 공유를 이용한 파라미터화된 비터비 복호기 설계)

  • This paper describes an efficient design of a multi-standard Viterbi decoder that supports multiple constraint lengths and code rates. The Viterbi decode. is parameterized for the code rates 1/2, 1/3 and constraint lengths 7, 9, thus it has four operation modes. In order to achieve low hardware complexity and low power, an efficient architecture based on hardware sharing techniques is devised. Also, the optimization of ACCS (Accumulate-Subtract) circuit for the one-point trace-back algorithm reduces its area by about 35% compared to the full parallel ACCS circuit. The parameterized Viterbi decoder core has 79,818 gates and 25,600 bits memory, and the estimated throughput is about 105 Mbps at 70 MHz clock frequency.

  • 본 논문에서는 향상된 중간 시점 합성 영상을 위한 깊이 영상 부호화 방식을 제안한다. 깊이 영상은 실제 영상과 다르게 날카로운 경계를 기준으로 완만한 변화를 가지는 픽셀 값을 가지는 특성이 있다. 따라서 깊이 영상의 부호화에서는 경계 영역을 효율적으로 부호화하는 것이 중요하다. 기존의 다시점 비디오 부호화기 (Multiview Video Coding)가 하나의 프레임 내에서 고정된 양자화 파라미터 값을 사용하는 것에 반해, 제안된 방식에서는 경계 영역을 효율적으로 부호화하기 위해 블록의 특성에 따라 적응적으로 양자화 파라미터를 할당한다. 2 차 미분 영상의 분포에 기반해 각 블록을 경계 블록, 평탄 블록, 일반 블록으로 구분하고 이에 따라 양자화 파라미터를 할당한다. 실험결과로서, 제안하는 방법의 성능이 다시점 비디오 부호화기 참조 소프트웨어 JMVC 8.3 에 비하여 BD-PSNR 이 평균 0.18dB 향상되고, BD-BR 은 평균 4.03% 감소되어 부호화 효율이 우수함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Generation of Korean Intonation using Vector Quantization (벡터 양자화를 이용한 한국어 억양 곡선 생성)

  • 본 논문에서는 text-to-speech 시스템에서 사용할 억양 모델을 위해 벡터 양자화(vector quantization) 방식을 이용한다. 어절 경계강도(break index)는 세단계로 분류하였고, CART(Classification And Regression Tree)를 사용하여 어절 경계강도의 예측 규칙을 생성하였다. 예측된 어절 경계강도를 바탕으로 운율구를 예측하였으며 운율구는 다섯 개의 억양 패턴으로 분류하였다. 하나의 운율구는 정점(peak)의 시간축, 주파수축 값과 이를 기준으로 한 앞, 뒤 기울기를 추출하여 네 개의 파라미터로 단순화하였다. 운율구에 대해서 먼저 운율구가 문장의 끝일 경우와 아닐 경우로 분류하고, 억양 패턴 다섯 개로 분류하여. 모두 10개의 운율구 set으로 나누었다. 그리고 네 개의 파라미터를 가지고 있는 운율구의 억양 패턴을 벡터 양자화 방식을 이용하여 분류(clusteing)하였다 운율의 변화가 두드러지는 조사와 어미는 12 point의 기본주파수 값을 추출하고 벡터 양자화하였다. 운율구와 조사 어미의 codebook index는 문장에 대한 특징 변수 값을 추출하고 CART를 사용하여 예측하였다. 합성할 때에는 입력 tort에 대해서 운율구의 억양 파라미터를 추정한 다음, 조사와 어미의 12 point 기본주파수 값을 추정하여 전체 억양 곡선을 생성하였고 본 연구실에서 제작한 음성합성기를 통해 합성하였다.

Detection Efficiency of Microcalcification using Computer Aided Diagnosis in the Breast Ultrasonography Images (컴퓨터보조진단을 이용한 유방 초음파영상에서의 미세석회화 검출 효율)

  • Digital Mammography makes it possible to reproduce the entire breast image. And it is used to detect microcalcification and mass which are the most important point of view of nonpalpable early breast cancer, so it has been used as the primary screening test of breast disease. It is reported that microcalcification of breast lesion is important in diagnosis of early breast cancer. In this study, six types of texture features algorithms are used to detect microcalcification on breast US images and the study has analyzed recognition rate of lesion between normal US images and other US images which microcalification is seen. As a result of the experiment, Computer aided diagnosis recognition rate that distinguishes mammography and breast US disease was considerably high 70~98%. The average contrast and entropy parameters were low in ROC analysis, but sensitivity and specificity of four types parameters were over 90%. Therefore it is possible to detect microcalcification on US images. If not only six types of texture features algorithms but also the research of additional parameter algorithm is being continually proceeded and basis of practical use on CAD is being prepared, it can be a important meaning as pre-reading. Also, it is considered very useful things for early diagnosis of breast cancer.

  • This paper describes modular fuzzy inference systems(MFIS) with adaptive capability to extract fuzzy inference modules from observation data through the learning process. The proposed MFIS is based on the structural similarity to Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy models and a modular neural architecture. The learning of MFIS is done by assigning new fuzzy inference modules and by updating the parameters of existing modules. The fuzzy inference modules consist of local model network and fuzzy gating network. The parameters of the MFIS are updated by the standard LMS algorithm. The performance of the MFIS is illustrated with adaptive control of a nonlinear dynamic system.

  • We propose optimal contexts for context-adaptive coding of stereo parameters in parametric stereo (PS) of enhanced aacPlus. For the quantized indexes of stereo parameters, 8 context candidates were proposed based on the index values and their combinations adjacent to a source index in the time-stereo band domain, where the time-stereo band region was further divided into 4 regions based on refresh/non-refresh frames and stereo bands. The optimal contexts for each region were proposed by experiments, which are expected to be used for context-adaptive coding of PS for improved performance.
