The Impact of Intra-Team and Inter-Team Social Ties on Team Innovativeness and Performance: On the Basis of IT Support (팀 혁신성과 성과에 대한 팀 내, 팀 간 사회적 연결의 영향: IT 지원에 기반하여)

  • Social ties play an important role in today's competitive world. The primary objective of this study is to explore the impact of intra- and inter-social ties on team innovativeness and performance. Through an empirical model of 97 teams in six companies, this study attempts to (i) examine how intra- and inter-social ties affect team innovativeness and team performance; and (ii) investigate how the support for information technology facilitates social ties. Our team-based analysis reveals that strong intra-bonds among members improve team innovativeness and enhance team performance. Inter-linkages among teams also lead to team performance through innovativeness, but they are not directly associated with performance. IT support also considerably enhances social ties.

A Case Study on the Target Sampling Inspection for Improving Outgoing Quality (타겟 샘플링 검사를 통한 출하품질 향상에 관한 사례 연구)

  • Purpose: For improving outgoing quality, this study presents a novel sampling framework based on predictive analytics. Methods: The proposed framework is composed of three steps. The first step is the variable selection. The knowledge-based and data-driven approaches are employed to select important variables. The second step is the model learning. In this step, we consider the supervised classification methods, the anomaly detection methods, and the rule-based methods. The applying model is the third step. This step includes the all processes to be enabled on real-time prediction. Each prediction model classifies a product as a target sample or random sample. Thereafter intensive quality inspections are executed on the specified target samples. Results: The inspection data of three Samsung products (mobile, TV, refrigerator) are used to check functional defects in the product by utilizing the proposed method. The results demonstrate that using target sampling is more effective and efficient than random sampling. Conclusion: The results of this paper show that the proposed method can efficiently detect products that have the possibilities of user's defect in the lot. Additionally our study can guide practitioners on how to easily detect defective products using stratified sampling

  • IMF 시기를 지나오면서 우리 사회에서 혁신, 개혁이라는 단어가 일상용어로 자리잡았다. 때로는 성과 지상주의나 업무의 수치화라는 부정적인 측면도 있기는 하지만, 성과 중심, 업무 프로세스의 변화, 발상의 전환을 요구하는 기업이나 조직이 더 이상 낯설지 않게 됐다는 사실은 분명하다. 시쳇말로 평생직장이라고 불리는 정부기관이나 공공기관도 이런 사회적 변화에 무풍지대일 수 없고, KISA 역시 예외가 아니다. 그래서 찾았다. KISA를 이노베이션(Innovation)하는 팀. 혁신기획팀이 그들이다.

In-company Facilitator A Study on Roles and Team Creativit - Through Innovation-oriented Culture and Team Empowerment (기업 내 퍼실리테이터의 역할과 팀 창의성에 관한 연구 - 혁신지향문화와 팀 임파워먼트를 매개로)

  • In research on the role of facilitators, studies on the effects of facilitators who conduct meetings and workshops within companies on innovation-oriented culture, team empowerment, and team creativity are insufficient. The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of the role of the facilitator (process management, change management) on innovation-oriented culture and team empowerment, and the effect on team creativity by mediating innovation-oriented culture and team empowerment. To this end, we surveyed members with experience in facilitating workshops at domestic companies and analyzed 299 collected data using SPSS 24 and Smart PLS 3.0. (+) had an effect. Second, innovation-oriented culture and team empowerment had a positive (+) effect on team creativity. Third, the role of the facilitator had a positive (+) effect on team creativity by mediating innovation-oriented culture and team empowerment. Through this study, the relationship between the role of the facilitator and other variables was explored and theoretically expanded, and practical implications for the role of the facilitator and enhancement of creativity required by the organization were presented.

연구개발팀의 다양성이 팀 창의성에 미치는 영향 : 갈등과 변혁적 리더십의 역할

  • 최근 팀 다양성이 팀 창의성에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구가 주목을 받고 있으나 팀 다양성이 팀 창의성으로 발현되는 과정과 팀 다양성의 조건 하에서 팀 창의성이 촉진되는 조건에 대한 연구는 제한적으로 이뤄졌다. 국내 24개의 연구개발팀을 대상으로 조사한 결과, 팀 다양성, 특히 정보다양성이 팀 창의성에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것을 증명하였다. 또한, 팀 구성원간 갈등은 팀 다양성과 창의성 사이에서 유의한 매개효과를 발휘하지 못하는 것을 확인하였다. 변혁적 리더십은 정보다양성과 직무 갈등 사이에서 부(-)의 조절효과를 보였다. 예컨대, 변혁적 리더십이 강하면 정보다양성이 높은 팀일수록 직무 갈등이 낮게 나타났다. 저자는 팀 다양성과 창의성 사이에서 갈등의 조절효과를 증명하기 위해서는 특히 동양권 국가에서 보다 면밀한 측정 방법이 요구되며 팀 다양성이 주는 가치(value in diversity)를 높일 수 있는 잠재적 매개변수의 탐색이 필요하다고 제안하였다.

R&D Project Team Diversity and Team Performance : Investigating the Moderating Effect of Innovative Problem Solving Style and Interdependence (R&D 프로젝트 팀 다양성과 팀 성과간의 관계: 제해결스타일 및 상호의존성의 조절효과)

  • As diversity has getting its significance, recent research on diversity has moved the focus from direct effects of diversity on performance to moderating effects between the two. In this paper, I analyzed the moderating effects of the innovative problem solving style and three types of interdependence (i.e., task, goal and outcome) on the relationship between diversity and performance. Empirical results using 75 project teams of R&D institute showed that the innovative problem solving style positively strengthened the effect of diversity on performance. All three types of interdependence also amplified the relationship between diversity and performance. I addressed theoretical and practical implications, and future research directions.

Developing the Customer Quality Satisfaction Index Using Online Reviews: Case Study of TV (리뷰를 활용한 고객 품질 만족도 지수 개발 : TV 사례연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose the product quality satisfaction index based on multiple linear regression using customer reviews. Methods: The proposed framework is composed of four steps. First, we collect online reviews and divide it into insight phrases. The insight phrases are classified using product attribute dictionary and sentiment analysis is conducted. Second, the importance of attributes is calculated in consideration of both regression coefficient and frequency. Third, the positive rate is calculated concerning sentiment analysis result. Therefore, the quality satisfaction index is measured by the weighted sum of importance and positive rate in the last step. Results: We conduct a case study using 2-years(2020, 2021) of Samsung TV reviews to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. As a result, we found that Picture quality is the most crucial attribute in TV evaluation. The importance of Gaming and content has grown up as the positive rate has also increased. Therefore, the overall satisfaction of TV has increased in 2021 compared to 2020. Conclusion: The result of this study shows that the proposed index reveals the customer's mind efficiently and can be explained by the importance and positive rate of each attribute. By using the proposed index, companies are able to improve and the priority of improvement can be determined.

Mediating Effects of Emotional Commitment between Downward Benevolence and Team Satisfaction & Team Innovative Behavior (상사의 하향온정 행동과 팀만족 및 팀혁신행동의 관계에서 정서적 몰입의 매개효과)

  • This study was conducted to test mediating effects of emotional commitment between downward benevolence and team satisfaction & team innovative behavior. The data was collected from 125 teams out of 47 organizations that are located in Seoul and KyongGi in order to achieve research purpose. The results are as follows. First, downward benevolence was positively associated with team satisfaction and team innovative behavior. Second, emotional commitment was fully mediated with the relationships between downward benevolence and team satisfaction, and team innovative behavior respectively. The implications of current studies are follows. First, downward benevolence is one of the significant variables to improve team satisfaction and innovative behavior. Such results contribute to expanding research area of downward benevolence which accounts for Korean leadership style and Korean culture.
