An Efficient Public Bicycle Reallocation using the Real-Time Bicycle on-Demand HDPRA Scheme (효율적인 공공 자전거 재배치를 위한 실시간 자전거 수요량 기반의 HDPRA 기법 제안)

  • Currently, various countries are enhancing accessibility by providing bicycle rental services for convenient usage within daily life. This paper introduces the Nubija public bicycle service in Changwon, South Korea, aiming to address the imbalance between demand and supply of Nubija bicycles. We propose a Highest Priority Reallocation Scheme to prevent this disparity. Comparing this scheme with others that randomly visit terminals for redistribution and those that prioritize terminals closest to current locations, we illustrate its superior efficiency. Our proposed Highest Priority Reallocation Scheme prioritizes terminals with the highest demand and shortest distances nearby. Through experiments, our proposed scheme demonstrates superior performance, with the lowest average of 817.44km distance and an average of 6437.45 times, i.e., 88.14% successful rental occurrences. This highlights its superiority over the other two algorithms.

A Study on Safety Impact Assessment of a Multiple Hydrogen Refueling Station (다차종 동시 충전을 위한 수소 스테이션의 안전 영향 평가 연구)

  • As the proliferation of hydrogen electric vehicles accelerates, there is observed diversification in hydrogen refueling station models. This diversification raises safety concerns for different types of stations. This study conducted a quantitative risk assessment of a multi-vehicle hydrogen station, capable of simultaneously refueling cars, buses, and trucks. Utilizing Gexcon's Effects&Riskcurves Software, scenarios of fire and explosion due to hydrogen leaks were assessed. The study calculated the impact distances from radiative heat and explosion overpressure, and measured risks to nearby buildings and populations. The largest impact distance was from fires and explosions at dispensers and high-pressure storage units. High-pressure storage contributes most significantly to personal and societal risk. The study suggests that conservative safety distances and proper protective measures for these facilities can minimize human and material damage in the event of a hydrogen leak.

  • Message Signs (VMS) structures offer an increase in traffic safety through their ability to relay massages to motorists for warnings of hazards ahead, traffic congestion, accidents, and lane closings. The geometry of these signs sometimes results in the significant cyclic loading of the supports structure due to wind gusts, which can result from passing trucks or from natural wind. This study presents the results of analytical and experimental investigations of VMS structures. The commercially available softwareGTSTRUDL (2003) was used to perform space-frame structural analyses of these welded tubular structures. Fatigue evaluations were performed using stress ranges from field measurements and from structural analyses. Based on the results of the structural analyses that were conducted, where fatigue design loadings that had been derived from AASHTO Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaries, and Traffic Signals (2001) were used, the structures that had been studied were found not to have infinite fatigue life. According to the limited measurements that were made in this study, the fatigue design loadings derived from AASHTO Specifications (2001) appear to be conservative, but they are not overly conservative. The results of this study should be used to make a reasonable design of VMS structures, and to maintain their standards.

Transforming Test Data of an Impact to a Crash Cushion into the Data of Different Impact Condition (충격흡수시설에 대한 특정 충돌시험데이터의 확대해석)

  • It is found the first case of broad interpretation of the crash analysis in MASH (Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware, AASHTO, 2009) which is the guideline of roadside safety features in United States. They introduced the procedure of calculating 1,500 kg sedan safety index from the 2,270 kg pick-up truck crash test for crash cushion. First, following MASH's method, calculate 0.9 ton vehicle crash data and safety index using 1.3 ton vehicle crash test data and compare with actual 0.9 ton vehicle crash test data. results show that actual test data and the data calculated by MASH's method have great difference. Second, analyse the cause and develop new method. Proposed method can estimate not only the lighter vehicle (0.9 ton) crash data from the heavier vehicle (1.3 ton) crash test but also heavier vehicle (1.3 ton) data from lighter vehicle (0.9 ton) test. This method is superior to MASH's method and has stronger theoretical foundation. This paper proves the efficiency and the accuracy of new broad interpretation method using crash test data and investigates the principle.

Calculation of the Peak-hour Ratio for Road Traffic Volumes using a Hybrid Clustering Technique (혼합군집분석 기법을 이용한 도로 교통량의 첨두율 산정)

  • The majority of daily travel demands concentrate at particular time-periods, which causes the difficulties in the travel demand analysis and the corresponding benefit estimation. Thus, it is necessary to consider time-specific traffic characteristics to yield more reliable results. Traditionally, na$\ddot{i}$ve, heuristic, and statistical approaches have been applied to address the peak-hour ratio. In this study, a hybrid clustering model which is one of the statistical methods is applied to calculate the peak-hour ratio and its duration. The 2009 national 24-hour traffic data provided by the Korea institute of Construction Technology are used. The analysis is conducted dividing vehicle types into passenger cars and trucks. For the verification for the usefulness of the methodology, the toll collection system data by the Korea Express Corporation are collected. The result of the research shows lower errors during the off-peak hours and night times and increasing error ratios as the travel distance increases. Since the method proposed can reduce the arbitrariness of analysts and can accommodate the statistical significance test, the model could be considered as a more robust and stable methodology. It is hoped that the result of this paper could contribute to the enhancement of the reliability for the travel demand analysis.

  • Since 2006, an Intelligent Excavation Robot which automatically performs the earth-work without operator has been developed in Korea. The technologies for automatically recognizing the terrain of work environment and detecting the objects such as obstacles or dump trucks are essential for its work quality and safety. In several countries, terrestrial 3D laser scanner and stereo vision camera have been used to model the local area around workspace of the automated construction equipment. However, these attempts have some problems that require high cost to make the sensor system or long processing time to eliminate the noise from 3D model outcome. The objectives of this study are to analyze the advantages of the existing 3D modeling sensors and to examine the applicability for practical use by using Analytic Hierarchical Process(AHP). In this study, 3D modeling quality and accuracy of modeling sensors were tested at the real earth-work environment.

A Comparison Study of Model Reduction Method with Direct Impact Analysis of Truck-column Collision (모델축소법을 이용한 교각-차량 충돌변위 예측 및 직접충돌해석법과의 비교연구)

  • Current design codes such as AASHTO LRFD or Korean Highway Bridge Design Code recommend of using static force for designing bridge column against vehicle collisions. However, there was an accident that the bridge was collapsed shortly after vehicle impact on bridge pier in Nebraska(near Big Spring, 2003). It was found that the second largest cause of bridge collapse is collision after hydraulic causes. It can be thought that the possibility of truck-bridge collision are getting increasing as the size of truck increases and traffic condition are becoming improved. However, dynamic behavior under the impact loading seldom considered in bridge design procedure due to computational cost and time. In this study, in order to reduce the computational cost for dynamic impact analysis, model reduction method was developed. Obtained results of residual displacement were compared with the results of direct impact simulations.

A study on Decision Model of Disuse Status for the Commercial Vehicles Considering the Military Operating Environment

  • The proportion of commercial vehicles currently used by the private sector among the vehicles operated by the military is very high at 58% and plans to increase further in the future. As the proportion of commercial vehicles in the military has increased, it is also an important issue to determine whether to disuse of commercial vehicles. At present, the decision of disuse of commercial vehicles is subjectively judged by vehicle technical inspector using design life and vehicle usage information. However, the difference according to the military operation environment is not reflected and objective judgment criteria are not presented. The purpose of this study is to develop a model to determine the disuse status of commercial vehicles in consideration of military operating environment. The data used in the study were 1,746 commercial vehicles of three types: cars, vans and trucks. Using the information of the operating area, climate characteristic, vehicle condition the decision model of disuse status was constructed using the classification machine learning technique. The proposed decision model of disuse status has an average accuracy of about 97% and can be used in the field. Based on the results of the study, the policy suggestions were proposed in the short and long term to improve the performance of decision model of disuse status of commercial vehicles in the future and to establish a new data construction method within the logistics information system.

A Suitability Study and Development of Low Strength Perlite Concrete as Aircraft Rapid Arresting System (항공기 과주방지 포장시스템에 적합한 저강도 펄라이트 콘크리트의 개발 및 적합성 연구)

  • More than 10 different cases of airline overrun accidents happened annually home and abroad in recent years. So the government put the guidelines to protect that kinds of accidents, which is named 'Runway End Safety Area'. However, the great part of airports are far from the standards, because most of the airports have been built before the guidelines. Moreover, in many cases natural obstacles, ambiance, and local area developments obstruct the extension of the runway to meet the criteria. For these reasons, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommends that the aviation fields construct 'Aircraft Rapid Arresting System(ARAS)' at the end of the runway. Many airdromes have been constructing the system and some airports have already completed the construction. In this research, our team performed a basic study about low strength perlite concrete to provide the proper material with 'ARAS'. As a result, the unit weight of the low strength perlite concrete was $4.5{\sim}6.4kN/m^3$ and uniaxial compressive strength was measured in the range of $400{\sim}1,470kN/m^2$. In addition, we tested penetration compressive strength by using CBR tester, and we observed that the strength was increased after around 60% of penetration rate. Also, 40% of penetration rate was measured through the penetration test with dump trucks.

  • LSIV (Large Scale Image Velocimetry)는 영상 처리 기술을 이용하여 수표면의 유속을 측정하는 장비이다. 처리가 용이한 좋은 LSIV의 영상을 만들기 위해서는 높은 고도에서 내려다 보며 영상을 획득하는 것이 측정의 정밀도를 높이는 데 도움이 된다. 이를 위해 트럭에 장착된 기중기를 이용하는 이동용 LSIV를 개발하고 있다. 이 때 기중기의 흔들림에 따라 획득된 영상이 흔들리는 문제가 발생하며, 영상의 흔들림을 보정하여 유속을 측정할 수 있는 영상 처리 알고리듬이 필요하게 된다. 이 연구에서는 PTV(Particle Tracking Velocimetry)의 입자 추적 알고리듬과 LSIV의 좌표 변환 알고리듬, LSIV의 유속 산정 알고리듬을 조합하여 흔들리는 영상에서 표면 유속을 측정하는 알고리듬을 개발하였다. 입자 추적 알고리듬은 비디오 카메라로 촬영된 연속 영상의 참조점들의 움직임을 추적하여 카메라의 위치 변동을 파악한다. 영상 분석된 결과들을 이러한 참조점들을 기준으로 변환하였다. 개발된 알고리듬의 검증을 위해서 실험 수로에서 동일한 흐름에 대해 흔들리지 않은 영상과 흔들리는 영상의 두 가지 영상을 만들었다. 흔들림이 없는 영상의 처리결과를 기준으로 삼아, 흔들림이 있는 영상의 처리 결과를 검토하였다. 그 결과, 흔들림이 지나치게 커서 참조점들의 추적이 불가능한 경우를 제외하고는 두 자료의 처리 결과는 거의 동일하였으며, 유속 측정의 최대 오차는 약 5 % 내외로 나타났다. 이 오차는 흔들림 때문에 생기는 영상의 열화 때문으로 추정된다. 이 알고리듬은 이동용 LSIV 시스템에 효율적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.비용적 측면이나 생태 보존적 측면에서 유리할 것으로 판단된다.one)을 설치하는 대책이 필요하다. 저수지 관리를 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서는 저수지 내부의 탁도 거동을 정확히 예측할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 추후 동수역학 및 열역학에 기초한 3차원 수치모형 연구와 성층흐름에 정밀한 밀도류 실험연구 및 이에 대한 적용이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.함으로써 정보의 질적보장과 정보전환의 표준화방안을 제시하는 정보분석시스템이다.이용, 수자원의 지속적 확보기술의 특성에 따른 4개의 평가기준과 26개의 평가속성으로 이루어진 2단계 기술가치평가 모형을 구축하였으며 2개의 개별기술에 대한 시범적용을 실행하였다.하는 것으로 추정되었다.면으로의 월류량을 산정하고 유입된 지표유량에 대해서 배수시스템에서의 흐름해석을 수행하였다. 그리고, 침수해석을 위해서는 2차원 침수해석을 위한 DEM기반 침수해석모형을 개발하였고, 건물의 영향을 고려할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 본 연구결과 지표류 유출 해석의 물리적 특성을 잘 반영하며, 도시지역의 복잡한 배수시스템 해석모형과 지표범람 모형을 통합한 모형 개발로 인해 더욱 정교한 도시지역에서의 홍수 범람 해석을 실시할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 본 모형의 개발로 침수상황의 시간별 진행과정을 분석함으로써 도시홍수에 대한 침수위험 지점 파악 및 주민대피지도 구축 등에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 있을 것으로 판단되었다.4일간의 기상변화가 자발성 기흉 발생에 영향을 미친다고 추론할 수 있었다. 향후 본 연구에서 추론된 기상변화와 기흉 발생과의 인과관계를 확인하고 좀 더 구체화하기 위한 연구가 필요할 것이다.게 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.는 초과수익
