Change of stochastic properties of MEMS structure in terms of dimensional variations using function approximation moment method (함수 근사 모멘트 기법을 활용한 치수 분포에 따른 MEMS 구조물의 통계적 특성치 변화에 관한 연구)

  • A systematic procedure of probability analysis for general distributions is developed based on the first four moments estimated from polynomial interpolation of the system response function and the Pearson system. The function approximation is based on a specially selected experimental region for accuracy and the number of function evaluations is taken equal to that of the unknown coefficient for efficiency. For this purpose, three error-minimizing conditions are proposed and corresponding canonical experimental regions are formed for popular probability. This approach is applied to study the stochastic properties of the performance functions of a MEMS structure, which has quite large fabrication errors compared to other structures. Especially, the vibratory micro-gyroscope is studied using the statistical moments and probability density function (PDF) of the performance function to be the difference between resonant frequencies corresponding to sensing and driving mode. The results show that it is very sensitive to the fabrication errors and that the types of PDF of each variable also affect the stochastic properties of the performance function although they have same the mean and variance.

  • The efforts of reflecting the system's uncertainties in design step have been made and robust optimization or reliability-based design optimization are examples of the most famous methodologies. In their formulation, the mean and standard deviation of a performance function and constraints expressed by probability conditions are involved. Therefore, it is essential to effectively and accurately calculate them and, in addition, the sensitivity results are required to obtain when the nonlinear programming is utilized during optimization process. We aim to obtain the new and efficient sensitivity formulation, which is based on integral form, on statistical moments such as the mean and standard deviation, and probability constraints. It does not require the additional functional calculation when statistical moments and failure or satisfaction probabilities are already obtained at a design point. Moreover, some numerical examples have been calculated and compared with the exact solution or the results of Monte Carlo Simulation method. The results seem to be very satisfactory.

Analysis of Random Ship Rolling Using Partial Stochastic Linearization (통계적 부분선형화 방법을 이용한 선체의 불규칙 횡동요 운동의 해석)

  • In order to analyze the rolling motion of a ship in random beam waves we use the partial stochastic linearization method. The quadratic damping and the nonlinear restoring moments given by the odd polynomials up to the 11th order are added to a single degree of freedom linear equation of roll motion. The irregular excitation moment is assumed to be the Gaussian white noise. The statistical characteristics of the response by the partial stochastic linearization method is compared with results by the equivalent linearization method and Monte Carlo simulation. It is fecund that the partial stochastic linearization method is not necessarily superior to the equivalent linearization method.

  • 강우는 수문 현상을 구성하는 가장 기본적인 요소로, 관측된 강우 자료의 정확한 분석 결과는 수자원 정책과 계획·관리에 합리적 판단 근거로 작용한다. 강원도는 지난 2002년 태풍 루사로 인하여 일 강수량 870.5mm의 폭우가 기록된 지역으로, 극한 강우로 인한 막대한 피해가 해마다 발생하고 있다. 특히, 강원도 지역은 태백산맥 중심의 산악지형과 동해의 영향을 직·간접적으로 받는 강우 사상의 특성이 집중호우, 폭설 등으로 나타난다. 본 연구에서는 강원도 지역 극한 강우의 통계적 특성을 파악하기 위하여 국가수자원관리종합정보시스템에서 제공하는 강우 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 또한, 최근 5년간 극한 강우의 변동 특성을 정량적으로 분석하고자 2022년까지의 자료를 구축하여 기존 『홍수량 산정 표준 지침』 작성 시 산정한 결과(2017년까지의 자료)와 비교·분석하였다. L-모멘트법 기반의 Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) 분포형을 이용하였고, 지역빈도해석을 수행하여 확률강우량을 산정하였다.

Performance Improvement of Steganalysis based on image Categorization Using Correlation Coefficient (상관계수를 이용한 영상의 범주화에 근거한 스테그분석의 성능 개선)

  • This paper proposes an improved steganalysis method based on image categorization. In general, most steganalysis methods extract the statistical moments based features which contain the global natures of images regardless of their inherent characteristics. However, the steganalysis method based on the statistical moments leads to degraded performance by applying to images with different complexity. In this paper, we decompose an 8-bit image into an upper 4-bit plane and a lower 4-bit plane, and categorize the image with two classes according to the correlation coefficient between decomposed sub-images. Two independent steganalyses can be performed for the categorized images. Since our method uses independent steganalysis technique according to the image category, it can reduce the drawback of the steganalysis methods utilizing the statistical moments. The performance of the proposed scheme is compared with well-known four steganalysis methods. Experiment results show that the proposed scheme has higher detection rate than previous methods.

Detection of Spliced Image Using Run-length of Wavelet Coefficients and Statistical Moments (웨이블릿 계수의 런-길이와 통계적 모멘트를 이용한 접합 영상 검출)

  • In this paper, we introduce a run-length for wavelet coefficients and present a image splicing detection method using the statistical moments for the wavelet run-length. Various pre-processings for the suspicious image are performed to emphasize the discontinuous edges caused by the image splicing. The proposed scheme has the merit that can exploit the various statistical characteristics of the wavelet transform. We extracted up to 72 features, and performed training and testing using SVM(support vector machine). Experimental results showed that the proposed method generates similar detection results compared to the existing methods. In addition, we showed the wavelet domain run-length is useful to detect the spliced image.

  • Image processing consist of image analysis and classification. The one is extracting of feature value in the image. The other is segimentationof image that have same properiv. A novel approach for the analysis and classification of tezture images based on statistical texture prunitive estraction are proposed. In this approach, feature vector extracting is based on stalisucal method using apatial dependence of grey level and use general lexture proerty. In is advantageous that not effiected on structure and type of lexture. These components describe the amount of roughness and softness of texture images Two leatures. Moment and Homogeneity, are componted from GLCM(gray level co-occurrence matrices) of the lexture promitive to charactenize statisical properties of the image. We show the successful experimental results by considerationof these two components fro the analysis and classificationto regular and irregular texture images.

Stochastic Response of a System with Autoparametric Coupling (자기매계변수 연성을 갖는 응답의 통계적 특성)

  • The nonlinear modal interaction of an autoparametric system under a broadband random excitation is investigated. The specific system examined is an autoparametric vibration absorber with internal resonance, which is typical of many common structural configurations. By means of Gaussian closure scheme the dynamic moment equations explaining the random responses of the system are reduced to a system of autonomous ordinary differential equations of the first and second moments. In view of equilibrium solutions of this system and their stability we examine the system responses. We could not find the destabilizing effect of damping, which was reported in References (18) and (20). The saturation phenomenon, which is well known in deterministic nonlinear system, did not take place lot this system subject to broadband random excitation.
