  • This study traced the origin and transformation of word library linked with archives in the ancient Near East, and Greece and Rome. First, the word library has two origins. One is derived from the Latin bibliothēkē from the ancient Greek βιβλιοθήκη. The first trace is Pollux's Onomasticon in the second half of the 2nd century, and if considered as a set of literature texts, it is Lipsius's De Bibliothecis Syntagma in 1602. The other was established as an library in the early 14th century after Latin libraria (or librarium) was translated into Old French librairie (or librarie). The word library was coined by Chaucer in 1374. Second, the clay tablet repository that existed in the ancient Near East is close to an archive, but the official name is unknown. However, the Ashurbanipal clay tablet archive is far from the principle of respect for original order and origins emphasized by the archivists, so it is not a royal archive, but a prototype of the royal library. And the official name of the Library of Alexandria was 'Βιβλιοθήκη της Αλεξάνδρειας', and then it was changed to 'ALEXANDRINA BYBLIOTHECE'. Third, In ancient Greece and Rome, archives and libraries were separated. Greece libraries were at the level of a small libraries attached to gymnasiums, and had few independent titles. The names of the Roman libraries often attached to the public baths were mixed with βιβλιοθήκη and Bibliotheca. Finally, the ancient library was succeeded to the cathedral bibliothek, and was transformed into 'bayt al-hikmah' in the Islamic Empire. In Japan, China, and Korea, Japanese-Chinese word library was accepted at the end of the 19th century, but there are many issues that require follow-up research.

  • The Drone shot is moving images captured by a remotely controlled unmanned aerial vehicle, takes usually bird's eye view. The hand-held shot is moving images recorded by literal handheld shooting which is specialized to on-the-spot filming. It takes a walker's viewpoint through vivid realism of its self-reflexive camera movements. The purpose of this study is to analyze comparatively aesthetic functions of the drone shot and the hand-held shot. For this, the study understood Certeau's concepts of 'place' and 'space,' chose World Travel 'Peninsula de Yucatan' episode as a research object, and analytically applied two concepts to the scenes clearly presenting two shots' aesthetic characteristics. As a result, the drone shot took the authoritative viewpoint providing the general information and atmosphere as it overlooked the city with silent movements removing the self-reflexivity. This aesthetic function was reinforced the narration and subtitles mediating prior-knowledge about proper rules and orders of the place. The drone shot tended to project the location as a place. Conversely, the hand-held shot practically experienced the space with free walking which is free from rules and orders inherent in the city. The aesthetics of hand-held images represented the tactic resisting against the strategy of a subject of will and power in that the hand-held shot practiced anthropological walking by means of noticing everyday lives of the small town and countryside than main tourist attraction. In opposition to the drone shot, the hand-held shot tended to reflect the location as a space.

  • This article examines celeactor as cultural contents focused on the multi-persona in a South Korean reality show program . The celeactor is a form of celebrity and part of a celetoid. Celebrity can be categorized by three forms: ascribed form, achieved form and attributed form. In attributed form, the celetoid suddenly becomes popular through the media. The celeactor is a subcategory of the celetoid. The celeactor is defined by a virtual character that exist in temporary or institutionalized traits of popular culture. The Korean celebrity culture presents Korean intellectual factors, spiritual aspects, tastes, moral virtue, power relationships and traditional hierarchy. In order to examine the features of the Korean celeactor in cultural contents, this article focuses on the multi-persona of celebrity in South Korean popular culture through fantasy, challenge and nostalgia. This article examines the multi-persona of celebrity represented in South Korean popular culture as a negotiated response to cultural identity deconstructed and reconstructed in performance. The research methodology is to analyze a South Korean television reality show program on MBC Hangout with Yoo that represents various sub-characters performed by Jae-suk Yoo, a South Korean comedian and host. As for theoretical underpinning, this exploration joins work on Erving Goffman's (1959) notion of self-presentation and Chris Rojek's (2001) celebrity studies.

  • This paper analyzes the level of satisfaction of two groups of teachers who were educated about artificial intelligence using App Inventor. The participants were 13 pre-service and 9 in-service elementary school teachers and the data was collected using a questionnaire. As a result of the study, in-service teachers were all more satisfied than pre-service teachers in terms of interest, difficulty, and participation in the education. In addition, the questions investigating whether education helped motivate learning of artificial intelligence and whether there is a willingness to apply it to elementary classes in the future were also more positive for in-service teachers than for pre-service teachers. In general, pre-service teachers had somewhat more negative views than in-service teachers, but they were more positive than in-service teachers in terms of whether the education helped improve their understanding of artificial intelligence and whether they were willing to participate in additional education. Analysis of the Mann-Whitney test to see if there was a significant difference in satisfaction between the two groups showed no significance. This may be because most of the students in the two groups already had block-type or text-type programming experience, so they were able to participate in the education without any special resistance or difficulty with App Inventor, resulting in high levels of satisfaction from both groups. The results of this study can provide basic data for the future development and operation of programs for artificial intelligence education for both pre-service and in-service elementary school teachers.

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss the elements and meanings of the performative scenography which has been revealed through the new directorial interpretation and deconstruction process of the musical 『All Shook Up』. The performative scenography characteristics after postmodernism aim to create individual active perceptions and various social meanings through audience's voluntary and particular emergence. To this end, the theoretical foundation of scenography was examined by periods in advance. Based on this, I attempted to establish performative scenography for synthesized scenic and media design through the reconstruction process for the 『All Shook Up Travelers』. As a result, I set up visual narrative based world of 『All Shook Up Travelers』 which was produced by text-based intense images for a direct medium in order to expand actors' inner narrative and established unique performative scenography of its own: 1. enhancing the adapted one's narratives for the actors' and audience's co-existence and detachment, 2. delivering its own independent meanings which have double meanings, 3. encouraging audience's critical and active perception experiences through collage and montage of media.

  • Diagnosis and management of customer's skin condition is an important essential function in the cosmetics and beauty industry. As the social media environment spreads and generalizes to all fields of society, the interaction of questions and answers to various and delicate concerns and requirements regarding the diagnosis and management of skin conditions is being actively dealt with in the social media community. However, since social media information is very diverse and atypical big data, an intelligent skin condition diagnosis system that combines appropriate skin condition information analysis and artificial intelligence technology is necessary. In this paper, we developed the skin condition diagnosis system SCDIS to intelligently diagnose and manage the skin condition of customers by processing the text analysis information of social media into learning data. In SCDIS, an artificial neural network model, AnnTFIDF, that automatically diagnoses skin condition types using artificial neural network technology, a deep learning machine learning method, was built up and used. The performance of the artificial neural network model AnnTFIDF was analyzed using test sample data, and the accuracy of the skin condition type diagnosis prediction value showed a high performance of about 95%. Through the experimental and performance analysis results of this paper, SCDIS can be evaluated as an intelligent tool that can be used efficiently in the skin condition analysis and diagnosis management process in the cosmetic and beauty industry. And this study can be used as a basic research to solve the new technology trend, customized cosmetics manufacturing and consumer-oriented beauty industry technology demand.

  • This study examined the content diversity of seven authorized science textbooks by comparing the characteristics of the science concept description and the contents of inquiry activities in the "weight of objects" unit. For each textbook, the flow of concept description content and the uniqueness of the concept description process were analyzed, and the number of nodes and links and words with high connections were determined using language network analysis. In addition, for the inquiry activities described in each textbook, the inquiry subject, inquiry type, science process skill, and uniqueness were investigated. Results showed that the authorized textbooks displayed no more diversity than expected in their scientific concept description method or their inquiry activity composition. The learning elements, inclusion of subconcepts, and central words were similar for each textbook. The comparison of inquiry activities showed similarities in their contents, inquiry types, and scientific process skills. Specifically, these textbooks did not introduce any research topics or experimental methods that were absent in previous textbooks. However, despite the fact that the authorized textbook system was developed based on the same curriculum, some efforts were made to make use of its strengths. Since the sequence of subconcepts to explain the core contents differed across textbooks, this explanation process was divided into several types, and although the contents of inquiry activities were the same, the materials for inquiry activities were shown differently for each textbook to improve and overcome the difficulties in the existing experiments. These findings necessitate the continuation of efforts to utilize the strengths of certified textbooks.

  • Recently, the socio-economic interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) has been growing due to the emergence of ChatGPT. As a type of generative AI, LLMs have reached the level of script creation. In this regard, it is important to address the issue of discrimination (sexism, racism, religious discrimination, ageism, etc.) in the performing arts in general or in specific performing arts works or organizations in a large language model that will be widely used by the general public and professionals. However, there has not yet been a full-scale investigation and discussion on the issue of discrimination in the performing arts in large-scale language models. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to textually analyze the perceptions of discrimination issues in the performing arts from LMMs and to derive implications for the performing arts field and the development of LMMs. First, BBQ (Bias Benchmark for QA) questions and measures for nine discrimination issues were used to measure the sensitivity to discrimination of the giant language models, and the answers derived from the representative giant language models were verified by performing arts experts to see if there were any parts of the giant language models' misperceptions, and then the giant language models' perceptions of the ethics of discriminatory views in the performing arts field were analyzed through the content analysis method. As a result of the analysis, implications for the performing arts field and points to be noted in the development of large-scale linguistic models were derived and discussed.

  • In this paper, we aim to build a gentrification analysis model and examine its characteristics, focusing on the point at which rents rose sharply alongside the recovery of commercial districts after the gradual resumption of daily life. Recently, in Korea, the influence of social distancing measures after the pandemic has led to the formation of small-scale commercial districts, known as 'hot places', rather than large-scale ones. These hot places have gained popularity by leveraging various media and social networking services to attract customers effectively. As a result, with an increase in the floating population, commercial districts have become active, leading to a rapid surge in rents. However, for small business owners, coping with the sudden rise in rent even with increased sales can lead to gentrification, where they might be forced to leave the area. Therefore, in this study, we seek to analyze the periods before and after by identifying points where rents rise sharply as commercial districts experience revitalization. Firstly, we collect text data to explore topics related to gentrification, utilizing LDA topic modeling. Based on this, we gather data at the commercial district level and build a gentrification analysis model to examine its characteristics. We hope that the analysis of gentrification through this model during a time when commercial districts are being revitalized after facing challenges due to the pandemic can contribute to policies supporting small businesses.
