SVC and CAS Combining Scheme for Support Multi-Device Watching Environment (다중기기 시청환경을 지원하기 위한 SVC와 CAS 결합 기법)

  • CAS used in IPTV or DTV has an environment of sending single type of contents through single streaming. But it can be improved to support users' various video applications through single streaming by combining with SVC. For such an environment, efficiency should be firstly considered, and hierarchical key management methods for billing policy by service levels should be applied. This study aims to look into considerations to apply SVC to CAS and propose SVC encryption in CAS environment. The security of the proposed scheme is based on the safety of CAS and oneway hash function. If the proposed scheme is applied, scalability can be efficiently provided even in the encrypted contents and it is possible to bill users according to picture quality. In addition, the test results show that SVC contents given by streaming service with the average less than 10%overhead can be safely protected against illegal uses.

Security Scheme for Prevent malicious Nodes in WiMAX Environment (WiMAX 환경에서 악의적 노드 예방을 위한 보안 기법)

  • As the use of mobile device is popularized, the needs of variable services of WiMAX technique and the importance of security is increasing. There is a problem that can be easily attacked from a malicious attack because the action is achieved connectionlessly between neighbor link establishing procedure and TEK exchange procedure in mobile WiMAX even though typical 1 hop network security technique is adapted to WiMAX for satisfying these security requirement. In this paper, security connected mechanism which safely connects neighbor link establishing procedure of WiMAX and TEK exchange procedure additional to the basic function provided by IEEE 802.16e standard to satisfy security requirement of mobile WiMAX is proposed. The proposed mechanism strengthens the function of security about SS and BS by application random number and private value which generated by SS and BS to public key of neighbor link establishing procedure and TEK exchange procedure. Also, we can prevent from inside attack like man-in-the-middle which can occur in the request of TEK through cryptographic connection of neighbor link establishing procedure and TEK exchange procedure.

  • Recently many company has been cracked by crackers information security and everyday new computer virus come out. so e-trade partners should prevent the disasters. A few studies researched e-trade securities broadly but the new trend in information security division especially focused on electronic payment, EDI, Transportation, Contracts, Insurances and that of subjects have been researched through interdisciplinary evolution. Our research e-trade security on three part, First system attack, second is data attack and third is business attack. the attacks have theirs own solution, so e-trade company use this solution timely and powerfully. It is the most important thing to prepare the cracking with securities system. also manager should catch recent hacking technologies. The research results propose that e-trade firms should use information security policies and securities systems that including H/W and S/W. therefore manager's security mind is very important and also using electronic commerce securities device and should be considered exploiting solutions by each special usage according to e-trade company' environments.

A Secure Cluster Formation Scheme in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 안전한 클러스터 구성 방안)

  • In wireless sensor networks, cluster structure brings on many advantages such as load balancing, energy saving, and distributed key management, and so on. To transform a physical network into the cluster structure, sensor nodes should invoke a cluster formation protocol. During the protocol operation, if some nodes are compromised and they do not conform to the protocol, an inconsistency of membership in a cluster happen. This splits the cluster and consequently increases the number of clusters and decreases the number of members in the cluster. In this paper, we propose a scheme which well copes with such a problem. First, our scheme generates two hop clusters where hop distance between any two nodes is at most two. Besides, our scheme employs verification of two hop distant nodes to prevent the cluster split induced by compromised nodes. Last, our scheme mainly employs broadcast transmissions to reduce energy consumption of nodes. Simulation results have proven that our scheme reduces the number of clusters and more secure and energy-efficient than other scheme.

  • Automation is being progressed rapidly in various fields with the advancement of IT technology. Home automation is a typical application and is being used in a variety of ways now. Most of digital door lock systems simply support to open and close a door using the methods of password and a particular magnetic key. In this paper, we propose a intelligent digital door lock system using face recognition technology. Our proposed system can control the locking device opening and closing from a remote location after confirming the identification of the visitor via a smart device, and support the reliable and secure control of door systems.

  • In is paper, we design and implement the low power, high speed touch screen controller that calculates and outputs the coordinate of touch point on the touch screen of mobile devices. The system clock is 10HMz, the number of input channels is 21, standby current is $20{\mu}A$, dynamic range of input is 140pF~400pF and the response time is 0.1ms/frame. It contains the power management unit for low power, automatic impedance calibration unit in order to adapt to humidity, temperature and evaluation board, adjacent key and pattern interference suppression unit, serial interface unit of I2C and SPI. The function and performance is verified by using FPGA and $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS standard process. The implemented touch screen is designed for using in the double layer ITO(Indium Thin Oxide) module with diamond pattern and single layer ITO module for cost-effective which are applied to mobile phone or smart remote controller.

  • Internet of Things has a wide range of vulnerabilities are exposed to information security threats. However, this does not deal with the basic solution, the vaccine does not secure encryption for the data transmission. The encryption and authentication message transmitted from one node to the construction of the secure wireless sensor networks is required. In order to satisfy the constraint, and security requirements of the sensor network, lightweight encryption and authentication technologies, the light key management technology for the sensor environment it is required. Mandatory sensor network security technology, privacy protection technology subchannel attack prevention, and technology. In order to establish a secure wireless sensor networks encrypt messages sent between the nodes and it is important to authenticate. Lightweight it shall apply the intrusion detection mechanism functions to securely detect the presence of the node on the network. From the sensor node is not involved will determine the authenticity of the terminal authentication technologies, there is a need for a system. Network security technology in an Internet environment objects is a technique for enhancing the security of communication channel between the devices and the sensor to be the center.

  • The Jini system provides an infrastructure to facilitate a programmer to develop distributed systems. As one of the Jini services, JavaSpare has been used as a repository which is accessible publicly in the Java distributed environment. Although JavaSpace could give a useful method for saving and sharing java object, it would not be applicable to develop a distributed system requiring access securities for the objects because JavaSpare does not support secure access control. In this paper, we present a secure JavaSpare service based on Jini2.0 named SeureJS, which strengthens the security weakness of JavaSpare. The system consists of ObjectStore to store Java objects, AccessManager to control access of ObjectStore and KeyManager to manage public keys.

A Hybrid Authentication Scheme for Wireless MSAP Mesh Networks in the Next-Generation TMCS (차세대 전술이동통신체계 무선 MSAP 메쉬망을 위한 혼합형 인증기법)

  • This paper presents a novel hybrid authentication scheme in the next-generation Tactical Mobile Communication Systems(TMCS) with wireless MSAP mesh networks. The existing centralized and distributed authentication methods for security between MSAPs may have their pros and cons. The centralized authentication method induces overhead from frequent MSAP association which leads to long authentication delay. On the other hand, the distributed authentication method requires initial sharing of the authentication information. Therefore, a more efficient authentication scheme is needed to protect the network from malicious MSAPs and also maximize efficiency of the network security. The proposed scheme provides a hybrid method of efficiently managing the authentication keys in the wireless MSAP mesh network to reduce the induced authentication message exchange overhead. Also, as the authentication method between MSAP and TMFT is different, a method of utilizing the ACR for handling the EAP packets is proposed. In overall, the proposed scheme provides efficient mutual authentication between MSAPs especially for tactical environments and is analyzed through performance evaluation to prove its superiority.

Efficiently Managing the B-tree using Write Pattern Conversion on NAND Flash Memory (낸드 플래시 메모리 상에서 쓰기 패턴 변환을 통한 효율적인 B-트리 관리)

  • Flash memory has physical characteristics different from hard disk where two costs of a read and write operations differ each other and an overwrite on flash memory is impossible to be done. In order to solve these restrictions with software, storage systems equipped with flash memory deploy FTL(Flash Translation Layer) software. Several FTL algorithms have been suggested so far and most of them prefer sequential write pattern to random write pattern. In this paper, we provide a new technique to efficiently store and maintain the B-tree index on flash memory. The operations like inserts, deletes, updates of keys for the B-tree generate random writes rather than sequential writes on flash memory, leading to inefficiency to the B-tree maintenance. In our technique, we convert random writes generated by the B-tree into sequential writes and then store them to the write-buffer on flash memory. If the buffer is full later, some sequential writes in the buffer will be issued to FTL. Our diverse experimental results show that our technique outperforms the existing ones with respect to the I/O cost of flash memory.
