기획특집 - 거가대교 침매터널의 시공 (Construction of the Busan-Geoje Fixed Links Immersed tunnel)

  • The Busan-Geoje Fixed Link is an 8.2 km long motorway connecting Busan to the island of Geoje where the Korean big two shipbuilding yard locate on. This motorway includes a 3,300m immersed tunnel which is one of the longest immersed tunnel in the world and two cablestayed bridges each of 2km in length. The site locates in a exposed offshore, which is subjected to strong winds, large swell waves and strong tidal currents. These conditions together with the tunnel being at a deepest immersed tunnel ever built and the foundation condition is consisting of a very soft, normally to slightly over consolidated marine clay, makes the project unique and one of the most challenging immersed tunnels ever built.

유효응력모델을 이용한 침매터널의 동적거동 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of an Immersed Tunnel using an Effective Stress Model)

  • The George Massey immersed tunnel passes the Fraser River near Vancouver, Western Canada. In this paper, dynamic analysis of the tunnel on sandy soils was performed using an effective stress constitutive model called UBCSAND. This model is able to calculate pore pressure rise and resulting tunnel deformation due to cyclic loading. Centrifuge tests conducted at RPI are used to verify the model performance. Centrifuge tests consist of 3 models: Model 1 is designed for an original ground condition, Model 2 for a ground improvement by compaction method, Model 3 for a ground improvement by gravel drainage. The results of centrifuge Model 1 are presented and compared with predictions of UBCSAND model. This model well captured the results of centrifuge test and therefore can be used to predict dynamic behavior of similar tunnels or underground structures on sandy soils.

  • This study investigates the efficient construction scheme of the immersed tunnel focusing on the hydration heat. In this respect, some alternatives in curing, temperature condition and removing of the forms are compared together to meet the required criteria. It is addressed that the strict construction stage analysis considering the placing scheme of concrete is one of the key factors to trace the realistic structural behavior for the hydration heat.

  • Recently, Busan-Geoje fixed Link Immersed Tunnel and the Tokyo Port Waterway 2 Submarine Tunnel have been constructing. Furthermore it was mentioned to construct an immersed tunnel from Korea to Japan. As a result, it is expected that the demand to use the immersed tunnel will be increased. However, if a fire occurs in the immersed tunnels, it will damage tunnel elements and not save human lives more seriously than normal tunnels on the ground because of the absence of exits as well as closing structure of the immersed tunnels. In fact, the fire accident in the Eurotunnel which connects between France and the Unite Kingdom through the immersed tunnel had occurred twice in 1996 and 2008, and the inner surface of the tunnel got damaged such as concrete popout and structural damage. As a result, not only economic injury but enormous expense to repair and reinforce the tunnel were derived because of the suspension of traffic after the fire happened. Now, from the examining and analyzing study on the fire resistance of immersed tunnels in developed countries and Busan-Geoje fixed Link Immersed Tunnel, we suggest the establishment method of fire resistance to insure the fire safety of immersed tunnel.

유한요소해석을 통한 해중터널의 유체동역학 해석 (Hydrodynamic Analysis of Submerged Floating Tunnel Structures by Finite Element Analysis)

  • 대륙 및 섬을 연결하는 교통 시설로써 지금까지 해상에 놓이는 교량과 해저 지반에 건설되는 해저 터널 그리고 내륙에서 건설하여 해저지반 위에 안착시킨 침매 터널이 사용되어 왔다. 해중 터널 구조물은 계류선을 이용하여 터널 본체를 특정 깊이 내로 잠수시킨 시설로써 아직 실제 건설 사례는 없지만, 해저 터널에 비해 건설 기간이 짧고 비용이 적게 든다는 장점이 있다. 해중 터널 본체 및 계류선의 합리적인 설계를 위해서는 무엇보다도 해중 터널 구조물의 합리적인 구조 해석이 선행되어야 한다. 일반적인 육상 교통 시설물과 달리 해중 터널은 변동성이 큰 환경 하중에 큰 영향을 받을 뿐 만 아니라 물 안에 잠수식으로 떠있다는 구조적인 특징이 있어서 그 해석이 까다로울 수 있다. 본 연구는 해중 터널 시스템의 합리적인 전체계 동적 구조 해석 기법의 제안을 목표로 한다. 이를 위하여 일반적인 구조물 해석에 널리 쓰이는 ABAQUS를 이용하여 KIOST (2013)에서 연구한 터널 모델을 각 환경 조건에 대한 동적 거동을 분석하였고, 이를 실험 결과와 비교하여 해석 기법의 타당성을 분석하였다. 또한 이 연구에서는 계류선의 배치형식, 터널의 흘수가 해중 터널 동적 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였고, 불규칙 파랑에 대한 특성 역시 분석하였다.

해저터널 적정 공사기간 예측을 위한 표준공정관리 체계 연구 (A Study on Standard Construction Process Management System for Prediction of Proper Construction Period of Subsea Tunnel)

  • 대표적인 국내 해저터널 시공사례로 침매공법을 적용한 가덕 해저터널이 완공되어 운영 중이고, NATM 공법을 적용한 보령~태안간 해저터널이 건설중이다. 호남~제주 간 고속철도 해저터널이 구상중 이고, 일본, 중국과도 해저터널 건설에 대한 타당성이 검토되고 있다. 그러나 Shield TBM 공법을 적용한 해저터널에 대한 국내 시공사례가 없어, 현재의 기술력으로는 장대 해저터널 사업성 분석 및 적정 공사기간 예측 등 공사수행을 위한 공정계획정보 제공이 어렵다. 경제성 등 이유로 정부기관 및 발주기관도 Shield TBM 공법 적용에 소극적이고, Shield TBM 공법을 적용한 공정관리분야 기술적 자료도 부족한 실정이다. 따라서, 장대 해저터널 사업성 분석 및 적정 공사기간 예측하기 위한 표준공정관리체계가 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해 WBS, Network Diagram, 단위 공사기간 산출모델 등 해저터널 표준공정관리 체계를 제시하므로써, 장래 건설되어질 해저터널 사업에 기술적, 경제적으로 기여하고자 한다.

지중무선 시스템을 이용한 침매터널 구간 계측관리 사례연구 (Case Study of Immersed Tunnel Instrumentation Management Using Wireless System)

  • Measuring method being applied for off-shore works is performed by using data logger or manual measuring instrument with wiring the cable connected from the sensor up to the position where measuring is allowed.(upper part of embankment or marine structure) Measuring management by using existing measuring method may be acceptable on the condition that the ground deformation volume(vertical, horizontal) is generally minimal and the site condition is good. But loss of measuring instrument, sensor cable failure or cutting is taken place frequently due to significant change of ground behavior caused by an external force change(embankment, excavation) under very soft ground condition(N value below 0-4). In case of the marine works, in particular, loss rate of measuring instrument is highly represented due to the factors of working barge anchoring, constructional interference and natural disaster. In order to solve these problems, measuring management was performed with employing underground wireless system at the immersed tunnel site. Measuring data was obtained freely under the marine environment by using underground wireless communication and cable cutting potential by ground behavior could be reduced. Measuring cost savings and its installation convenience were maximized by way of off-shore tower installation or cabling and by minimizing constructional interference of off-shore working barge. This case of measuring management was accomplished successfully.

부산 중죽도를 활용한 해양문화공간 조성방안에 관한 연구

  • 부산 강서구 천성동에 소재한 중죽도는 해양문화공간으로 조성할 수 있는 다양한 잠재력과 가능성을 가지고 있다. 거가대교의 지상부분으로 연결되는 장소에 있는 중죽도와 대죽도는 거가대교를 건설하면서 육지와 침매 해저터널로 연결된 무인도이다. 이러한 시설을 조성하면서 자연스럽게 형성된 방파제와 매립지는 중죽도와 인접한 까닭에 육지에서 자동차로 접근이 가능한 공간이다. 때문에 무인도라는 섬을 자동차로 갈 수 있다는 장점뿐 아니라 육지의 전기가 공급된다는 장점도 있다. 특히 대형차량을 위한 주차시설과 거가대교 홍보관이 있는 가덕해양파크 휴게소에서 차량을 이용하여 접근이 가능하므로 이 시설과 연계한 관광상품도 개발이 가능한 현실이다. 국내 유일의 이러한 환경을 활용하여 친환경적인 개념을 도입하여 각종 시설을 계획한다면 매우 매력적인 해양문화공간을 조성할 수 있을 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 중죽도와 연결된 매립지을 활용하여 해양문화공간을 조성하는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

가속 열 노화시험을 이용한 침매터널용 고무 씰 소재의 사용수명 예측 (Service life prediction of rubber seal materials for immersion tunnel by accelerated thermal degradation tests)

  • This paper considers accelerated thermal degradation tests which are performed for rubber seal materials used for undersea tunnels constructed by immersion method. Three types of rubber seals are tested; rubber expansion seal, omega seal, and shock absorber hose. Main ingredient of rubber expansion seal is EPDM(Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) and that of both omega seal and shock absorber hose is SBR(Styrene Butadiene Rubber). The accelerated stress is temperature and an Arrhenius model is introduced to describe the relationship between the lifetime and the stress. From the accelerated degradation tests, dominant failure mode of the rubber seals is found to be the loss of elongation. The lifetime distribution and the service life of the rubber seals at use condition are estimated from the test results. The acceleration factor for three types of rubber seals are also investigated.

진해만 침매터널 상부의 수중소음의 일변화 및 음향적 특성 (Daily change and acoustical characteristics of underwater noise on a submerged sea tunnel in Jinhae Bay, Korea)

  • Jinhae Bay located in the southern of Korean Peninsular is an important spawning area in Korea. By some preliminary studies it was measured several times that adult Pacific codes (Gadus microcephalus) were passed (swimming layer: 15 to 18 m) over a submerged sea tunnel (sea bottom: about 30 m) rather than another immigration route when the Pacific codes were tagged surgically with an acoustic transmitters and released inside of the Bay. There is a possibility that the Pacific codes and the other fishes use the route on the sea tunnel as an immigration route are affected by a human-generated underwater noise around the sea tunnel due to the sea tunnel traffic. On this study the 25-hour measurements of the underwater noise level by water layer were conducted with a hydrophone attached on a portable CTD and an underwater noise level meter during four seasons, and the acoustical characteristics of the underwater noise was analyzed. The mean traffic volume for one hour at the sea tunnel on the spring was shown the largest value of 1,408 [standard deviation (SD): 855] vehicles among four seasons measurement. The next one was ordered on the autumn [1,145 (SD: 764)], winter [947 (SD: 598)] and summer [931 (SD: 558)] vehicles. Small size vehicle was formed 84.3% of the traffic volume, and ultra-small size, medium size, large size and extra-large size of the vehicle were taken possession of 8.7%, 3.2%, 2.0% and 1.8%, respectively. On the daily change of the noise level in vertical during four seasons the noise level of 5 m-layer was shown the highest value of 121.2 (SD: 3.6) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$), the next one was 10 m-layer [120.7 (SD: 3.5)], 2 m- and 15 m-layer [120.3 (SD: 3.5 to 3.7)] and 1 m-layer [119.2 (SD: 3.6)] dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$). In relation with the seasonal change of the noise level the average noise level measured during autumn was shown the highest value of 123.9 (SD: 2.6) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$), the next was during summer [121.4 (SD: 3.2)], spring [118.0 (SD: 3.4)] and winter [116.5 (SD: 5.1)] dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$). In results of eigenray computation when the real bathymetry data (complicate shape of sea bed) was applied the average number of eigenray was 2.68 times (eigenrays: 11.03 rays) higher than those of model bathymetry (flat and slightly sloped sea bottom). When the real bathymetric data toward inside (water depth becomes shallow according to a distance between the source of noise and hydrophone) of the Bay was applied on the eigenrays calculation the number of the eigenray was 1.31 times (eigenrays: 12.49 rays) larger than the real bathymetric data toward outside (water depth becomes deep with respect to the distance). But when the model bathymetric data toward inside of the Bay was applied the number of the eigenray was 1.05 times (eigenrays: 4.21 rays) larger than the model bathymetric data toward outside.
