Experimental Study on Impact Pressure at the Crown Wall of Rubble Mound Seawall and Velocity Fields using Bubble Image Velocimetry (기포영상유속계와 복합파고계를 활용한 경사식 호안 전면에서 쇄파의 형태에 따른 충격쇄파압의 분류)

  • To investigate varying wave impact pressure exerting at the crest wall of rubble mound seawall, depending on breaking wave properties, regular waves with different wave periods were generated. Wave velocity fields and void fraction were measured using bubble image velocimetry and simple combined wave gauge system (Na and Son, 2021). For the waves with shorter wave period, maximum horizontal velocity was less reduced compared to incident wave speed while breaking-induced air entrainment was occurred intensely, leading to a significant reduction of wave impact pressure at the crest wall. For the waves with longer wave periods, less air wave entrained and the wave structure followed a flip-through mode (Cooker and Peregrine, 1991), resulting in an abrupt increase of the impact pressure.

  • This paper presents a design method for optimizing the focused beam characteristics, which are mainly determined by the condenser lenses in a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) design. Sharply reducing the probe diameter of electron beams by focusing the condenser lens (i.e., the rate of condensation) is important because a small probe diameter results in high-performance demagnification. This study explored design parameters that contribute to increasing the SEM resolution efficiently using lens analysis and the ray tracing method. A sensitivity analysis was conducted based on those results to compare the effects of these parameters on beam focusing. The results of this analysis on the design parameters for the beam characteristics can be employed as basic key information for designing a column in SEM.

  • Agent-based systems technology has generated lots of excitement in these years because of its promise as a new paradigm for conceptualizing. designing. and l implementing software systems Especially, there has been many researches for multi agent system because of the characteristics that it fits to the distributed and open Internet environments. In a multiagent system. agents must cooperate with each other through a Coordination procedure. when the conflicts between agents arise. where those are caused b by the point that each action acts for a purpose separately without coordination. But P previous researches for coordination methods in multi agent system have a deficiency that they can not solve correctly the cooperation problem between agents which have different goals in dynamic environment. In this paper. we solve the cooperation problem of multiagent that has multiple goals in a dynamic environment. with an automatic cooperative coordination model using I reinforcement learning. We will show the two pursuit problems that we extend a traditional problem in multi agent systems area for modeling the restriction in the multiple goals in a dynamic environment. and we have verified the validity of the proposed model with an experiment.

  • Abruptly occurred obstacles on highway threaten driving safety. Radar draws the attention to the collision avoidance system because it can be fully operational in all weather, and day and night condition. This paper presents the design, implementation and performance test results of pulsed Doppler radar system for detection and warning of road obstacles. The system is designed to consider highway environment and detection capability about various fixed and moving obstacles. The system consists of 4 subsystems, which include antenna unit, transmitter and receiver unit, radar signal & data processing unit, and controller & display unit. The core technologies include clutter map based change detection for fixed obstacles detection, Doppler estimation for velocity detection of moving targets, and azimuth angle estimation method using monopulse for lane estimation and tracking. The design performance of the developed radar system is verified through experiments using a fixed reference target and moving vehicles in test highway.

  • The cause of the majority of vehicle accidents is a safety issue due to the driver's inattention, such as drowsy driving. A forward collision warning system (FCWS) can significantly reduce the number and severity of accidents by detecting the risk of collision with vehicles in front and providing an advanced warning signal to the driver. This paper describes a low power embedded system based FCWS for safety. The algorithm computes time to collision (TTC) through detection, tracking, distance calculation for the vehicle ahead and current vehicle speed information with a single camera. Additionally, in order to operate in real time even in a low-performance embedded system, an optimization technique in the program with high and low levels will be introduced. The system has been tested through the driving video of the vehicle in the embedded system. As a result of using the optimization technique, the execution time was about 170 times faster than that when using the previous non-optimized process.

  • 기존의 전동휠체어를 사용하는 약자 또는 중증 장애인 등 지체(肢體)가 불편한 사람들이 휠체어 사용 시 생기는 문제점을 해소할 목적으로 시작되었다. 이는 전동휠체어가 보행 기구임에도 자동차에 준하는 교통사고에 대해 무방비하게 노출되고, 중증 장애인에 대한 이동권 보장이 아직 미흡하여 생기는 문제이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제로 인한 불편함을 해소하고자 아이트래킹을 이용한 스마트 전동휠체어 기술을 적용하고자 한다. 루게릭병 등으로 인해 지체(肢體)의 움직임에 제한이 있는 사람들에게 보호자가 밀어주는 휠체어에 의존하는 것이 아닌 Eye-Tracker를 이용한 시선 추적(Eye-Tracking) 기술로 휠체어 동작이 가능하다. Web-Cam과 라즈베리 파이를 통해 얻은 전·후·좌·우의 영상정보를 디스플레이 화면에 송출한다. 그 후 Eye-Tracking 기술을 이용해 디스플레이 화면에 표시된 전·후·좌·우 이동에 관한 UI(User Interface)룰 사용자가 송출된 영상을 보면서 눈의 움직임만으로 선택해 휠체어의 방향을 제어한다. 또한 전동휠체어의 조작 실수로 다른 행인 또는 장애물과 충돌하는 문제점을 초음파 센서를 이용하여 일정 거리 내에 사물이나 사람이 있을 경우 디스플레이 화면에 경고표시 및 경고음, 각 초음파 센서 위치에 맞는 LED작동으로 사용자들에게 추돌 위험경고와 함께 장애물의 위치파악이 가능하도록 한다. 따라서 스마트 전동휠체어를 통하여 수동적인 움직임이 아닌 능동적이고, 초음파 센서로 인해 안전한 이동이 가능하게 한다.

Multi channel reservation scheme for underwater sensor network (수중 센서 네트워크에서 다중 채널 예약방법)

  • In the RTLS(Real Time Location Based System), in case of existing a number of moving target, extremely complecated data flow is can be occurred. In the network where single gateway exists, various data which was collected from sensor node is transmitted along the simple route as time goes by. In case of multi-gateway configuration, the collected data is transmitted through diverse routes rather than simple route. This kind of data causes jams on nodes and this brings down the performance of the network. Different from existing studies, in this thesis, MAC (Media Access Control) protocol which minimizes data collision between nodes and guarantees QoS(Quality of Service) is suggested, in order to communicate efficiently in multi-gateway underwater sensor network environment. In the suggested protocol, source node which wants to transmit data makes a channel reservation to a number of destination node using a RTS packet. Source node reserves a channel without collision, by scheduling CTS response time using expected delay information from neighbor nodes. Once the reservation is made, source node transmit data packet without collision. This protocol analyzes/estimates the performance compared to a method provided from existing studies via simulation. As a results of the analysis, it was comfirmed that the suggested method has better performance, such as efficiency and delay.

  • With the recent development of various kinds of virtual reality devices, there has been an active research effort to increase the sense of reality by recognizing the physical behavior of users rather than by classical user input methods. Among such devices, the Leap Motion controller recognizes the user's hand gestures and can realistically trace the user's hand in a virtual reality environment. However, manipulating an object in virtual reality using a recognized user's hand often causes the hand to pass through the object, which should not occur in the real world. This study presents a way to build a visual feedback system for enhancing the user's sense of interaction between hands and objects in virtual reality. In virtual reality, the user's hands are examined precisely by using a ray tracing method to see if the virtual object collides with the user's hand, and when any collision occurs, visual feedback is given through the process of reconstructing the user's hand by moving the position of the end of the user's fingers that enter the object through sign distance field and reverse mechanics. This enables realistic interaction in virtual reality in real time.

Centering Theory and Argument Deletion in Spoken Korean (센터링 이론과 대화체에서의 논항 생략 현상)

  • This paper analyzes the distribution and classification of unrealized arguments of a predicate often called zero pronouns. in spoken Korean. Based on the transcript of a one-hour-Iong dialogue. recorded from public radio stations. I present the statistical data on argument ellipsis in Korean with respect to the frequency of zero ronouns as well as the nature of their antecedents. I go further to review some of the previous efforts to identify the discourse- theoretic functions of zero-pronouns in the framework of Centering Theory. and propose that the zero-pronouns in spoken Korean be divided into center-insensitive vs. center-sensitive classes. I also point out a couple of language-particular idiosyncrasies found in Korean, such as morpho-syntactic elements and encyclopaedic knowledge. that interact with center management in on-going discourse and often lead to difficulties in applying the centering rules and constraints to Korean.

Effects of Two Phase Flow on Erosion Characteristic in a Rocket Nozzle (2상 유동에 의한 로켓 노즐 마모 특성에 대한 고찰)

  • A numerical analysis of two phase flow in the solid rocket nozzle was conducted. Stoke number was defined over the various aluminum oxide($AI_2$$O_3$) particle sizes and particle trajectories were treated by Lagrangian approach. Particle stability was considered by the definition of Weber number in a rocket nozzle. Large particles are divided after the nozzle throat as the flow accelerates rapidly. The division of particles changes the particle distribution at the nozzle exit. From the above results, it was found that the nozzle converge section surface might be affected by aluminum oxide particles. Also, Mechanical erosion rate of nozzle surface was predicted for different materials.
