A SRM driving with voltage and switching angle for maximum torque/efficiency and minimum torque ripple (최대 토크/효율 및 최소 토크맥동을 위한 스위칭각/전압에 의한 SRM 운전)

  • This paper presents the switching angle and voltage to maximize torque/efficiency and minimize torque ripple in the 4-phase 6-poles Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). SRM drive has high saturation and nonlinear characteristics of inductance. So we cannot hard to find optimal condition by using analytic method. Therefore it is hard to find the operating the switching angle and voltage through the approximated analysis and computer simulation by using SIMULINK according to the speed and torque required by load. From the results, we can say that the optimum average voltage is determined by the load only and the speed is determined by the optimum turn-on/off angle only. And the maximum efficiency and minimum torque ripple depend on switching angle, not on voltage. And then one-chip microcontroller controls the switching angle and voltage of an asymmetrical inverter in the SRM driver. This drive method, which is expect that the driving methods, which are maximizing torque/efficiency and minimizing torque ripple, will be suitable for the electric vehicle, the industrial application and household appliances.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. The paper is proposed maximum torque control of IPMSM for electric vehicle drive. The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current ${^i}_d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system for electric vehicle drive, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail by simulation.

  • This paper investigates the dq current trajectory for maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) operation of an interior PM synchronous motor for HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Based on the dq current trajectory for the MTPA operation derived from the motor parameters, the change of the MTPA operating point for the variation of the motor parameters including the magnet flux and the dq inductances is considered. The dq current trajectory for MTPA operation is verified through the experiment.

  • This paper proposes maximum torque control of SynRM drive using artificial intelligent(AI)PI and artificial neural network(ANN). The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal axis current for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to SynRM drive system controlled AIPI and ANN controller and the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail.

  • 본 논문에서는 최대 견인력 제어를 위해서 최소 차원 부하 토크 외란 관측기를 이용하여 점착력 계수를 추정하고 추정한 점착력 계수의 미분치를 PI 토크 제어하는 Anti-slip제어를 제안한다. 최소차원 부하 토크 외란 관측기는 회전자의 위치 정보와 토크 전류의 정보를 이용하여 부하 외란토크를 추정하고, 부하 외란 토크에 철도차량 상수를 이용하여 점착력 계수를 추정한다. 또한 부하토크외란 관측기는 구조가 간단하며, 시스템의 외란 및 각종 제어이득, 시스템의 상수 변화에 대해서도 견실한 견인력 제어 특성을 가지고 있다. 이와 같은 시스템의 모델링과 전동기 토크에 대한 회전자의 위치 정보를 이용하여 최소차원 부하 토크 외란 관측기의 상태변수인 점착력 계수를 추정하고, 추정한 점착력 계수의 미분치를 PI토크 Anti-Slip제어하여, 최대 견인력 제어가 되도록 하였다.

Performance of Adaptive Maximum Torque Per Amp Control at Multiple Operating Points for Induction Motor Drives (유도전동기 드라이브에서의 단위전류당 최대토크적응 제어기의 다운전점에서의 성능 연구)

  • The highly efficient operation of induction motors has been studied in the past years. Among the many attempts made to obtain highly efficient operation, Maximum Torque Per Amp (MTPA) controls in induction motor drives were proposed. This method enables induction motor drives to operate very efficiently since it achieves the desired torque with the minimal stator current. This is because the alternate qd induction motor model (AQDM) is a highly accurate mathematical model to represent the dynamic characteristics of induction motors. However, it has been shown that the variation of the rotor resistance degrades the performance of the MTPA control significantly, thus leading to its failure to satisfy the maximum torque per amp condition. To take into consideration the mismatch between the actual value of the rotor resistance and its parameter value in the design of the control strategy, an adaptive MTPA control was proposed. In this work, this adaptive MTPA control is investigated in order to achieve the desired torque with the minimum stator current at multiple operating points. The experimental study showed that (i) the desired torque was accurately achieved even though there was a deviation of the order of 5% from the commanded torque value at a torque reference of 25 Nm (tracking performance), and (ii) the minimum stator current for the desired torque (maximum torque per amp condition) was consistently satisfied at multiple operating points, as the rotor temperature increased.

Effect of dual pitch mini-implant design and diameter of an orthodontic mini-implant on the insertion and removal torque (교정용 미니임플랜트의 이중 피치와 직경의 차이가 삽입 및 제거 토크에 미치는 영향 평가)

  • Objective: Small orthodontic mini-implants are useful as anchorage. However they have some weaknesses such as loosening. This study was carried out to analyze the mechanical effects of the dual pitch and diameter on the insertion and removal torque of mini-implants. Methods: The threads of mini-implants were mono and dual pitch. The diameters of mini-implants were 1.4 mm and 1.6 mm. Four groups were tested (mono 1.4 mm, mono 1.6 mm, dual 1.4 mm and dual 1.6 mm). All were inserted and removed on polyurethane foam with the torques being measured. Results: The maximum torque of the dual pitch groups was higher than the mono pitch groups during removal but lower during insertion. The maximum torque of the 1.6 mm diameter groups was higher than the 1.4 mm diameter groups during insertion and removal. The dual pitch 1.4 mm group showed the lowest insertion torque but had similar or superior levels of removal torque to that of the mono pitch 1.6 mm group. Conclusions: The dual pitch especially showed a continuous high removal torque after the peak. Despite the small diameter, the dual pitch might improve the initial mechanical stability.

  • The paper proposes instantaneous torque control of IPMSM for maximum torque drive of torque and current plane. The control scheme is based on the mathematical model of the motor and is applicable to the constant torque and field weakening operations. The scheme allows the motor to be driven with maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) characteristic below base speed and it maintains the maximum voltage limit of the motor wide field weakening and the motor current limit under all conditions of operation accurately. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $^id$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system for drive of wide speed range, the operating characteristics controlled that maximum torque control are examined in detail by simulation.

  • Tightening of the screws in implant restorations should be accurate and precise. If applied torque is too low, screw loosening would be occurred. With too high torque, the screw fracture might take place. Various torque generating devices are developed and employed to apply a proper torque. The purpose of this investigation was to determine and compare the accuracy of the torque controllers. In this study, 4 types of torque controllers were used; electronic torque controller, torque limiting device, torque indicating device and contra angle torque driver. Digital torque gauge was employed to measure the de-torque value. Thirty cycles of tightening and loosening were done with each torque controller. All implant torque controllers have shown slight errors and deviations. The torque liming device exhibited the most accurate data. No significant difference was found among the mean de-torque values of the electronic torque controller, torque indicating device and contra angle torque driver. In the limitation of this study, it would be recommended that the implant torque controllers should be checked whether uniformed and precise torque can be generated and a measuring error should be corrected.
