As a result, 60.9% of adolescents engaged in physical activity for more than 60 minutes a day and 39.1% of those did not. The level of anxiety among adolescents was found to be mild anxiety at 22.2%, moderate anxiety at 7.6%, and severe anxiety at 3.6%. The purpose of the present study was to investigate empirically the relationship among self-image, depression, anxiety, and social sensitivity in adolescents. 1602 normal adolescents(697 males and 905 females) responded to self report scales-Offer Self-Image Questionnaire-Revised, 3 subscales of Symptom Checklist-90-Revised. The data were analyzed with ANOVA and LISREL to examine the effect of self-image on depression, anxiety, and social sensitivity, and to test the relationship among the above 4 variables. Adolescents with low self-image showed significantly higher scores in the scales of depression, anxiety, and social sensitivity than did adolescents with high self-image. The result of LISREL showed that the low self-image leads to the emotional state of depression and anxiety, and those of depression and anxiety lead to the increase of social sensitivity, suggesting that self-image has a direct effect on depression and anxiety, and has a direct effect on social sensitivity in adolescent. These results were discussed in terms of implications for the prevention and treatment of adolescent social phobia.

The sample included 200 young probationers in Seoul probations office who were asked to fill out a self-administered survey questionnaire. Results from path analysis showed that adverse childhood experience positively influenced the risk for internet addiction (${\beta}=.396$, p<.05), and higher anxiety also predicted the internet addiction (${\beta}=.131$, p<.01). This results show that the better social capital, the lower anxiety, and the higher self-awareness is, the lower depression is. This study aims to understand whether the effect of poverty is translated to adolescents' mental health though their exposure to violence, which is aggravated by the dangerous environments of the neighborhoods. For this purpose, the study analyzes whether poor adolescents tend to reside on neighborhoods with toxic environments, and whether living in the disadvantageous neighborhood causes the poor adolescents to experience greater violence victimization and fear of violence, and eventually, greater depression and anxiety. The study utilizes secondary analysis of longitudinal data of the Korea Youth Panel Survey. Structural Equation Modeling is used as an analysis method. The study results reveals that poverty has both direct and indirect effects on the level of adolescents' symptoms of depression and anxiety. Especially, poverty affects adolescents' depression and anxiety indirectly through increasing the possibility to reside in more dangerous neighborhoods. Explaining more in detail, living in dangerous neighborhoods seems to expose adolescents more to violence and fear of violence in the neighborhoods and this experience increases the level of depression and anxiety. The study argues that the negative effects of poverty on adolescents should be examined from the view of neighborhood environments. Finally, the study discusses the importance of increasing neighborhood competency as practice and policy implication.
