In order to enhance the competitiveness of tourism destinations, it is important to manage tourist products considering the characteristics of tourist destinations and the characteristics of tourists. In this study, we divided Seoul's tourism products into four parts (shopping, food, culture, and natural landscape) to explore if there are some direct connections between tourism product involvement, self-congruity, and functional congruity. The other research question is if the degree of tourism product involvement reaches a certain intensity, will the place attachment be generated and the destination satisfaction be fulfilled. The survey was the focus on the international visitors in smart city, Seoul by using the random sampling and convenience sampling and collected 250 data. Finally, we found that destination personality significantly affects both self-congruity and functional congruity. If self-congruity and functional congruity are formed, tourism product involvement will be stimulated which will finally satisfy tourists and arouse their place attachment. The implications of these findings contribute to destination marketers to develop more effective destination management.
Smart phones play a significant part in the evolution IT industry. In domestic market, smart phones have grown rapidly. However, until today, precedent studies on smart phones, particularly about the reason why consumers use smart phones are uncommon. Thus, in this study we adopted IS continuance and habit theory to study smart phones' use behavior. The results reveal that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, satisfaction of smart phone usage, continuous use, and habit showed the causes and effects relationships. The results indicated that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use had a positive effect on smart phone user satisfaction. Moreover, smart phone user satisfaction had a positive effect on the smart phone habits and explorative use. However, smart phone user satisfaction showed insignificant effect toward exploitive use. That is, satisfied users regularly use the smart phone but need to formulate habit of use, and then influence exploitive use. Habit showed a positive effect on both exploitive use and explorative use, Finally, we found that users are likely to pay more attention on new features of smart phones while they are using the devices.
This study focus on the pilot case of a scenic landscape agriculture in Go-Chang county for the innovative rural development strategy related the green tourism in Korea. The Go-Chang county in Jeon-Buk province has been progressed the diversified agricultural crops production region. The Go-Chang county is known as the famous cultural tour place that has the many historical and cultural resources (provincial natural park, traditional music, great stone cluster area, military castle walls, good tasted eel food and wine). But, today, the circumstances of global agricultural free trading situations is rapidly proliferated, it invited the depression of the agricultural incomes in rural regions in Korea. So, the Go-Chang county seeks trying to alternative development methods. The new frontier like scenic landscape agriculture is the one of the innovative strategies in this processes. The Go-Chang county selects and supports the scenic landscape agriculture for the new income production policy in connection with the green tourism. This study finds out the important components of the success of a scenic landscape agriculture for the introduction to the new frontier of peen tourism in Go-Chang county. First the scenic landscape agriculture development must be related the 4 season-ecological cultivation methods connected well-being trends. Second, it will be increased the income level of rural people by the competitive the rural green products and diversified green tourism programs which produced by the efforts of the rural people. Third, the success of scenic landscape agriculture and place marketing of rural green tourism depend on the creative community leaders.
Under exhibition circumstances, exhibition advertising by organizer is a mean to promote exhibition service to exhibitors and visitors while general advertising is to promote products and services to consumers. The objective of this research is to suggest advertising strategies by seeing differences in the impact of information quality and media credibility on visitor intention depending on the types of exhibition. This study adopted Elaboration Likelihood Model to measure the impact of central and peripheral cues on advertising attitude and its consequence on visitor intention. We further examined how these influence processes were moderated by exhibition types of B2B and B2C. We conducted survey from B2B and B2C exhibitions respectively, and analyzed structural equation model and moderator regression. We found that first, among factors of information quality as a central cue, argument strength has a positive impact on attitude towards advertising. Second, we also found among factors of media credibility as a peripheral cue, media trustworthiness has a positive impact on attitude towards advertising. Lastly, this study revealed that a type of exhibition moderates the central and peripheral routes towards advertising attitude, showing that B2C visitors are influenced by factors of information quality, and B2B visitors rather by media credibility. This study yields implications in that it gives marketers of organizer a background to set different marketing strategies depending on the types of exhibition.
Purpose The main purpose of this study is to examine whether the expectations and outcomes of the bicycle-sharing service significantly influence users' expectation disconfirmation, satisfaction, and continuous intention to use. In addition, we will verify the moderating effect of social interaction in bicycle-sharing service on the relationship between satisfaction and continuous intention to use. Design/methodology/approach Based on previous studies dealing with determinants of bicycle use, users' expectations and outcomes of the bicycle-sharing service were measured by three variables; accessibility, convenience, and safety. To collect the data, we conducted a survey of undergraduates at a university located in Seoul for three weeks, beginning March 6. Participants completed the first questionnaire, which measured expectations of the bicycle-sharing service based on the attributes and social interaction before using the BSS. After a few weeks, the same participants completed the second questionnaire, which measured outcomes of the outcome, disconfirmation, satisfaction, and continuous intention to use the BSS. Only participants who completed both surveys received monetary compensation. In order to test hypothesis, the Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS) modeling technique was applied. Findings In terms of main effects, based on the expectation disconfirmation theory, the results indicated that there were significant relationship among expectation, performance, disconfirmation, and satisfaction. In particular, it was verified that disconfirmation completely plays a mediating role between performance and satisfaction. In addition, the moderating effect of social interaction was examined. There was a significant interaction effects of social interaction and satisfaction on the continuous intention to use for leisure purpose. Finally, this study is expected to contribute to the study of resource sharing in the field of tourism and provide baseline information for future research.
Traditional commerce has transformed into electronic commerce, then, mobile commerce again plays a critical role in diversifying different types of business. Although the fast changing of mobile commerce as an emerging channel of communication in business, not many studies address why consumers stay on mobile commerce and how they are influenced and influence other consumers. In this study, we investigate the impact of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation on customers' satisfaction and its results. We adopt the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), value-satisfaction theories, and other motivation studies in developing theoretical framework. We then synthesize these theoretical approaches to conceptualize mobile customers' behavior. Specifically, we postulate cognitive beliefs that influence customers' satisfaction with mobile commerce, and, in turn, significantly contribute to the spread of positive word-of-mouth. The current research model and its results could provide a rigorous basis for understanding customers' behavior in wireless contexts.
The silencer of 155mm caliber howitzer is developed to reduce its firing loud noise. This kind of research of a large gun was seldom because its big firing noise does not make significant effect even if to use silencer. Nowadays, military facilities became closely located civilian residential area. The noise would be regarded environmental pollution. So the noise reducing research becomes reconsidered. The previous silencer researches were only dealt with small guns as pistols and rifles moreover their theories was not properly analyzed for a large caliber silencer. The reason was previous researches of a large caliber silencer as 155mm howitzer were limited because their data based on simulation results without actual test by using computational fluid dynamics. In this study, the entire processes of silencer of 155mm caliber howitzer which were design, manufacturing, actual firing test, and analysis of its theories, were performed and showed. In particular, the actual noise of with silencer and without was measured and the results were compared to analyze the effect of silencer.
The integration of Tourism and Information Communication Technology (ICT) has been continued based on a drastic progress of ICT in the entire sectors of tourism industry. A variety of terminologies such as eTourism, Virtual Tourism, Smart Tourism have appeared during the last decades, however, tourism with Smartphones created a new paradigm has not discussed yet in tourism industry and academia. By investigating on the previous literature in the role of ICT in tourism, we have classified five major streams in the past such as end user perspective (tourist behaviour), Community, Multimedia and Web, Intelligent System, and Smart Tourism. At a result, we investigated the concept of smart tourism and extended to research on Smart Tourism Ecosystems. We suggest the concept of smart tourism ecosystems, which may create values by interacting among tourism players (tourist, distribution channel, supply channel, government, and local community). We propose the discussion of meaning of 'creating shared value' through 'Smart Tourism Ecosystems'.
Purpose This study aims to propose a framework for safety in domestic walking tourism, which defines the scope and type of safety information for tourists. Also, the framework provides a systematic classification for safety information in walking tourism. As the importance of safety in walking tourism due to the frequent occurrence of crimes and unexpected accidents increases, it is necessary to provide tourists with safety information on walking courses rapidly and systematically. However, most administrators (e.g., local governments) have mainly focused on providing tour information on walking courses through Internet websites or mobile apps, overlooking the safety issue. Besides, there is a lack of understanding of safety not only in walking tourism but also in the whole tourism industry. Design/methodology/approach This study proposes the framework that covers all possible safety-related information in walking tourism. Furthermore, to validate its availability, this study analyzes eight major platforms which offer tour information to tourists by applying the framework. Findings The major findings of this study are as follows. First, all platforms considered in this study do not provide any information on tourism safety, focusing on the provision of tour information. Second, three platforms currently provide an SOS function which means post-safety information. That is, no safety information is provided to prevent safety issues in advance. Finally, despite the increase of social concerns, all platforms do not provide safety information on public order and diseases in the social disaster classification as well as environmental pollution in the natural disaster classification. The details and implications of the findings are presented.
Performance of software development is measured by two major criteria - roductivity and quality. Although the criteria is empirically tested in software engineering research, they often present with a limited way under consideration of a few factors or contexts for developers to focus on the either productivity facets or quality facets. Analyzing data on software development performance collected over a 13-year period from 20 countries, we investigated how major software development factors - development type, development platform, development technique, language type, DBMS, methodology, methodology acquisition, CASE,, summary of work effort, resource level, max team size, affect the performance of software development. The results suggest that productivity and quality of software development are affected by different factors and context: function points, line of code, extreme defects, major defects, or minor defects. This research provides the empirical evidence that the two performance criteria require for software developer to have careful attention to find the optimal balance between the two performance criteria.
