This study aimed to examine the effects of a science-learning program based on data visualization on the science inquiry and creative problem-solving abilities of elementary school science-gifted students. Accordingly, this research developed a data visualization science-learning program using Tableau, which had twelve sessions. The subjects encompassed 61 students in three gifted classes taught by the researcher. The scientific inquiry ability test and creative problem-solving ability test modified to suit the environment and situation were given to the subjects before and after the treatment. The results confirmed that science learning based on data visualization had no significant impact on basic science inquiry skills. Among the subdomains, significant results were obtained only in the reasoning subdomain. Moreover, integrative inquiry ability was significantly affected, unlike basic inquiry abilities. Among the five subdomains, significant differences were observed in three subdomains (data conversion, data interpretation, and variable control). However, concerning the generation of hypotheses and the control of variables, students exhibited confusion regarding the process of variable control and the exact concept of hypothesis development. This study also evaluated the effects of the program's application on creative problem-solving abilities and found a significant impact. Additionally, it was significantly different in all four subdomains. The results were interpreted to be owing to the students' mastery of Tableau's features, collaborative learning through discussion and debate, and the thematic impact of the data visualization program emphasizing procedural thinking. Finally, this study presented implications for science learning based on data visualization and the future direction of education.

Problem development is important to Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and is key to the creativity and problem-solving skills of successful learners. The purpose of this study is to have PBL classes that effectively materialize problem development stages, and to develop learning using problems suitable for elementary school English Science classes. In this study, the steps for developing the problems are identifying educational content, identifying learners' characteristics, discovering problems, setting up roles and situations, and writing problems. Based on these steps, five PBL problems were developed by selecting a subject suitable for the PBL method of an English Science class, which is one of the English curriculums in elementary schools. Creative thinking, problem-solving skills, presentation skills, confidence, self-directed learning, cooperation, and communication skills are required in the rapidly changing society of the 21st century, rather than teacher-centered instruction, acquiring knowledge for correct answers only, and uniform assessments, which still take place in many English education settings. Therefore, developing problems suitable for PBL learning should be continuously studied.

Among five types of the model textbook based on storytelling, the type of 'Inquiry into history of Mathematics' focuses on adapting the logic of mathematical discovery to the organization of mathematical contents. It enables students to recognize that mathematics has been developed by human needs and creativity while they are engaged in the story about knowledge formation. Moreover the textbook offers the context in which students are able to understand mathematical insights and logics hidden in the subject matter, so that they can reinvent and develop mathematical knowledge. In this study, we found the principles for development of the textbook based on storytelling for 'Inquiry into History of Mathematics' by analyzing the chapter about 'Complex number and Quadratic Equations' of the model textbook. The chapter was implemented in classroom environment and students' understanding of the subject matter and their perception on the textbook based on storytelling were surveyed before and after the implementation. The results showed the possibilities of adapting the textbook based on storytelling and we suggested some implications for further development.
A digital signage is constructed using a speech recognition based API, and VRSM (Voice Recognition Smart Mirror) that obtains information such as weather, map, exercise information, schedule, and image by user's voice command so as to be different from other commercialized products is proposed. This course provides an effective method of engineering education through the process of being evaluated as the result of independent graduation certification system, and also it had been the opportunity to design and produce works for 3 semesters by 2 students one group in the majors. Through the comprehensive capstone design, it has experienced engineering approach and creative thinking opportunity. We have won the best academic prize by participating in the academic conferences of the institute about the interim result, and obtained the results of the prize contest in other academic conferences. The improvement in practical skills obtained through this process proved to be beneficial for self-confidence and job-seeking opportunities through actual employment.
This study examined patterns of reasoning of both the scientifically-gifted and children of average ability as witnessed in their science problem solving skills. Science problem solving skills are one of the significant characteristics of scientifically gifted children, and by using methods such as individual interviews, inductive reasoning, abductive reasoning, and deductive reasoning, the characteristics of these children can be to be further explored and categorized. The study also compared the findings with those of average children. This study sought to determine efficient guidelines fur teaching the scientifically-gifted, to come up with basic materials for developing relevant programs, and to find suggestions for identifying such students. The results of the study are as follows: Firstly, the creative science problem solving skills of the scientifically-gifted were better than that of the average students. Secondly, all of the three reasoning patterns used revealed in creative science solving processes were different between the gifted and the average, especially in terms of abductive reasoning, which was proved to reveal the greatest distinction between the two groups.
The purpose of this paper is to study on the elements of the Sinmyung and the expression recognition of body movement in Korean dance of college students majoring in musical. The participants were 12 male and female college students in musical major who experienced in dance, song and acting. The program was composed of the experience of the Sinmyung: recognition of sound and dance, breathing and movement in the Korean dance, 8 hours twice a week for four weeks. As a qualitative approach is the discovery of the center of the process, we carried out an inductive analysis of the area on the basis of observation, in-depth interview and student report. The core of this analysis is to attempt to analyze contents concentrating on the recognition exploration of the Sinmyung sentiment and the body expression through sound and breathing. In conclusion, for college students majoring in musical, the expression recognition of the experience of the Sinmyung and the movement in the Korean dance contributes to the improvement of creative thinking through body perception, and the practical use of the capacity of image expression through concentration of sound and breathing. Finally, the results of this research could articulate with the value of body expression and the creative factors of college students majoring in musical.
The Korean education program and environment do not meet the increasing demand of daycare by facility, manpower, and budget deficits although Korea has also been interested in the convergent human resource with integrated ideas by creative education since the introduction of the Nuri curriculum for 5 year old children in 2011. Thus, the purpose of this study is to establish the preschool education program and design the proper space for developing the creativity of children. The procedure of this study is as follows. First, this study proposes the direction for establishing the daycare programs after examining the existing Korean daycare facilities and programs based on documented references about designs for daycare facilities. Second, this study proposes the program plans based on the framework establishment for developing preschool education programs by combination of 5 types of children's behavior on play and 5 types of formative principles for creative education with play. Third, this study proposes the direction of designs and conditions of daycare facilities for effectively managing the programs previously mentioned. As a result of theprocedure, this study comprehensively delineates the education program models and space plans for developing the creativity of Korean children, and suggests the necessity of development model of continuous education program by establishment of frameworks and the significance of space for effectively managing the model.

Environmental designers in Korea have shown interests in Environomental Psychology and Behavior Studies (EPBS) since 1970's. However, many designers, who have expected a great deal of contribution from the EPBS, have disappointed due to their overexpectation and misunderstanding on the EPBS. This study intends to analyse the nature of the EPBS and to investigate the potential contribution of the EPBS to the field of environmental design. The EPBS are able to help designers by providing scentific data in each stage of the design process. Further, most design theories and principles are based on the findings of the EPBS. Thus the development of the EPBS has great potential of contribution to the development of design theories arid principles Due to the scientific nature of the EPBS, however, the EPBS have difficulties in supplying scientific data within relatively short period, which make most designers impatient. Designers should understand the scientific nature of the EPBS and be patient in expecting usable outcome from the EPBS. Further, Designers should not expect the EPBS give them design soultion itself.
