An Analysis on the Educational Contents of the Research Paper Writing Program through Information Problem Solving Model (정보문제 해결모형을 통한 소논문쓰기의 교육내용 분석)

  • The primary purpose of this study is to identify the educational contents of the research paper writing program. In addition, this searches for the appropriate application method as information literacy instructional course. For clarifying and supporting the purpose, this study analyzes the expository texts with the seven kinds of published references book on research paper writing program. As the results of examination, the study reveals that they are made up with seven important contents. Evidently, this analysis makes up for the information literacy strategy to intensify the information literacy instructional course. Convincingly, we propose the educational contents which contain ideas of 'making research plan,' 'managing information,' and 'writing essay' in order to optimize for the current school library environment.

A Renovation Strategy of Digital Library Reference Information Service (디지털도서관 참고정보서비스 혁신전략)

  • In a Digital Age contents are comprized of knowledge and information. Also distinction between the sinner and loser is very clear thus only those who can rise up to challenge of changes can become the strong and a principal player. In this study this author presented a model for forecasting information service program(FISP) which is devised for the purpose of innovation of service pattern related to providing information which is ultimate goal of a library. This model is an innovative strategy escaping boldly from negative and inactive information service pattern known in analog age. Through this model this author attempted to outline methodology for heightening ideal of professional librarians and for assuring success in organizational system.

설계홍수의 추정

  • 전국에 산재한 수위관측지점의 관측개시 이후의 모든 홍수위 자료를 구성하고 주요 지점의 개별 홍수사상에 대한 단위도를 유도하여 지점별 대표단위도를 작성하였다. 또한 유도된 대표단위도를 이용하여 미계측 지점에 대한 단위도와 첨두홍수량을 추정하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1991년과 1992년에 이어서 1993년에도 홍수위자료의 수집과 정리에 역점을 두어 관업을 수행하였으며 조선하천조사서, 조선하천조사연보, 한국수문조사연보 등의 각종 문헌에 수록되어 있는 주요 홍수사상의 수문곡선을 판독하여 전국 220개의 수위관측지점에 대하여 총 5,735개 사상의 홍수위 자료를 구축하였으며 이를 자료집으로 구성하였다. 홍수사상에 대한 단위도를 유도하기 위하여 시우량자료는 기상청 자료를 중심으로 구성하였으며 효율적이고 안정적인 능형회귀방법을 이용한 단위도 유도 방법을 적용하여 사용자가 화면을 통해서 홍수사상과 유도된 1mm-1hr 단위도를 보고 적합한 단위도를 선택할 수 있도록 단위도 유도 프로그램을 개발하였다. 대부분의 홍수사상이 지정홍수위 이상인 범위만이 정리되었는데 지정홍수위 이하의 부분은 일수위로부터 읽은 값을 참고로 하고 대수보간을 하여 자료를 구성하도록 하였다. 개발된 단위도 유도 프로그램을 사용하여 지점별 홍수사상별로 단위도를 유도하여 유역별로 총 65개 지점에 대하여 952개의 단위도를 유도하였는데 한강 유역은 16개 지점에서 263개의 단위도를 유도하였고 낙동강 유역은 28개 지점에 460개 단위도를, 금강 유역은 7개 지점 82개 단위도를, 영산강 유역은 7개 지점에서 88개 단위도를, 섬진강 유역은 7개 지점에서 59개의 단위도를 유도하였다. 유도된 단위도들을 지점별로 평균하고, 이를 참고로 하여 Nash 모형을 이용한 지점별 대표단위도를 유도하여 정리하였다. 또한 유도된 대표단위도를 유역에 따라서 지점별로 비교하여 상하류간의 관계를 분석하였으며 신뢰할만한 결과로 판단되었다. 유도된 대표단위도의 첨두유량 및 첨두시간을 유역면적 등과 비교하여 그 관계를 검토하였다. 유역면적과 첨두유량 및 유역면적과 첨두시간의 관계는 비교적 일정한 경향을 보여주었으며 이를 이용하여 미계측 유역의 1mm-1hr 단위도를 추정하였다. 2년 빈도의 설계강우량에 대해서 유역면적이 50, 100, 1,000, 10,000, 20,000$\textrm{km}^2$인 경우 첨두홍수를 추정하였으며 유출률을 0.9로 할 때 4장에서 분석, 제시된 지점별 평균연최대홍수와 비슷한 값을 보여주었다. 따라서 미계측 유역에서는 설계강우량만 주어진다면 본 연구에서 추정된 미계측 유역의 단위도 추정 방법을 이용하여 첨두홍수를 추정할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구의 단위도 유도 대상 지점은 전국의 수위관측지점이었으나 5대강을 제외한 기타 수계에 있어서는 수위자료뿐만 아니라 유량측정성과도 미비하여 단위도 유도를 하지 못하였다. 또한 유역면적 500$\textrm{km}^2$ 이하에서는 홍수위 자료는 있어도 유량측정성과가 없는 지점이 많았고 육량측정성과가 수 회에 불과한 지점이 대부분이었기 때문에 단위도를 유도할 수 없었다. 따라서 분석된 결과를 소유역으로 연장하는 것은 다소 무리가 따르며 대략 어느 정도가 될 것이라는 참고자료로 이용하는 것이 바람직하다고 본다. 현재의 여건에서는 소유역의 유량측정성과를 확충하는 일이 급선무일 것이다. 유역면적이 작은 수위 관측 지점에 대한 지속적인 유량측정이 절실히 요구된다.

An Analyzing of the Current CHI Services in Korean Public Libraries (국내 공공도서관의 소비자건강정보 제공현황 조사분석 연구)

  • The increased interest in consumer health information(CHI) has brought about a rapid increase in CHI resources. There are diverse means for obtaining such information, and one CHI acquisition route is the public library. In the U.S. public libraries, the demand for CHI reference services is increasing, and a variety of projects to promote these services are in progress. On the other hand, Korean public library services for CHI is at a very basic level, and thus a very small amount of such research could be found. This study drew suggestions from a literature review of research studies in the U.S. and Canada, and analyzed public library CHI services in Korea. The findings are as follows. 1) Only 17.25% of public libraries in Korea provided CHI service, and it evidences very low needs and awareness for CHI services in Korea. 2) Only three kinds of services including CHI-related websites, users training, and promotional and marketing were provided, and only 13(1.74%) of libraries surveyed offered more than two kinds of services. 3) There were no CHI librarians, nor did any librarians receive CHI-related education. 4) ILL services, outreach services, and cooperation with CHI- and medical-related institutions for CHI services were not found. Therefore, this study suggests that more research on delivery strategies for CHI services should be conducted in the future.

A Study for Activation of Consumer Health Information Service (소비자 보건정보서비스의 활성화 방안 연구)

  • This study was to elucidate the theoretical backgrounds and realities of consumer health information services from a review of the literature, to manifest the actual conditions of consumer health information services by domestic hospital libraries and public libraries, and then to activate library services at least to meet the needs of the services by enhancing their role for consumer demand for health information. This paper propose to activate consumer health information services, as follows : First, librarians both in hospital and in public libraries cognize that consumer health information services really are needed. Furthermore, they expect that when consumer health information services are implemented, the function of the library would be expanded even to the realm of preventive health medical care for consumers and as well as to the patients' right to know. Second, it is recommended that hospital libraries should actively perform their consumer health information services, along with the active collection of health information and materials and develop related bibliographies for hospital libraries to provide patients and their families with medical information. Public libraries also are required to actively collect, maintain and manage health information and to equip themselves with special books in their reference rooms. Third, it is recommended to launch such a cooperation network with a subsystem of MEDLIS as CHIN or CHIPS in the United States of America, to construct an integrated database of consumer health information and materials, an interlibrary system, a reference room service system as well as a cooperation network among hospital and public libraries.

  • According to several researches and news reports on the lottery system for a school entrance, the private education fee, lower quality of education and classroom crisis at our real education settings are serious. The author analyses that those problems are not because of the lottery system for a school entrance itself, because of not changing the lecturing to all the students in a class into proper teaching and learning method for school condition regards to the lottery system changed 30 years ago. The lottery system makes that the different levels of students are in one class. The author recommends changing the general lecturing into the teaching and learning method by using the information processing models which are made for individual study. She also interprets the synthesis level of a information processing model for the use of teachers and librarians. The synthesis level is most ambiguous process for students when they organize the information gathered into a report.

A Study on Job Satisfaction Level of Employees in Special Libraries by Institutional Characteristics and Personal Backgrounds (기관특성과 개인환경에 따른 전문도서관 직원의 직무만족도 연구)

  • This study aims to evaluate job satisfaction level of employees working at special libraries by analyzing their affiliated institution and personal backgrounds. Results indicated that the job satisfaction level in private institutions was higher for 'remuneration', 'promotion', and 'overall satisfaction' in comparison to public counterparts. Also, employees working at institutions with independent libraries had higher level of satisfaction for 'work itself', 'remuneration' and 'co-workers' in comparison to those working in non-independent libraries. In terms of employment status, satisfaction level for 'remuneration' and 'promotion' was high among permanent employees, whereas 'superior and supervisor' was relatively higher among temporary employees. In terms of position, supervisors had higher level of satisfaction for 'remuneration', 'job system', 'promotion' and 'overall satisfaction' in comparison to non-supervisors. Employees with degrees in library and information science had higher level of satisfaction for 'work itself', 'job system', 'promotion' and 'institutional environment' in comparison to non-majors. This study clarified desires and emotions of employees working at special libraries and eliminated obstacles to higher job satisfaction. These findings may have implications for the improvement of work efficiency in libraries.

Research Trends on Public Libraries in Korea (국내에서의 공공도서관 연구동향 - 2007년부터 2016년까지의 학회지 논문을 대상으로 -)

  • This study aims at research trends on public libraries in Korea. This performed a content analysis of the articles from 2007 to 2016 on major four academic journals of Library and Information Science. As a result of investigation, of total 2,134 researches, 405 researches, 19% was the research on public library, of 405 researches, many articles were published in Journal of Korean Library and Information Science Society. The concernment themes of public library research were 'Reference and Information Service' and 'Library Management'. Major research method applied to public library research was survey research method, especially, questionnaire investigation. In survey research method, surveyee was librarian, general user in order. Public libraries in Seoul and Gyeonggi were mostly investigated for survey and then those in Busan and Daegu. The researcher dispersion was professor (172 researches, 40.7%) and was professor/graduate (50 researches, 11.8%) in order. Also, there were researchers of different fields.

A Study on the Trends and Characteristics of Mental Health Services in the Public Libraries of North America (북미 공공도서관계 정신건강 지원서비스의 경향과 특성)

  • This study discussed the trends and characteristics of mental health services in the public libraries of North America. To accomplish this, this study collected its data through literature surveys, observations and interviews with librarians within the Vancouver public library system. The results show that there were many cases in which patrons asked public libraries for information on their mental health problems and the public libraries helped the patrons cope with their problems. The public libraries' assistance programs for national tragedies and natural disasters were temporary services. On the other hand, public libraries were continuously advising and guiding patrons dealing with emotional and psychological problems through the readers' advisory and information services. Specifically, public libraries were actively assisting various sensitive issues that are generated in the development of children and youths(for example, adoption, divorce and separation, remarriage, family, friendship, disabilities, death, self-esteem, emotions, bulling, violence, abuse, suicide, illness, addiction, sexual health, youth pregnancy and so on). The key role of librarians under these circumstances was to guide and recommend appropriate books and professional institutions that help solve the problems.

  • A number of studies have emphasized the importance and values of reading in character education. However, there is no tool or framework for developing character education program. If teacher librarian to develop a character education program by reading should be preceded the framework for a comprehensive and systematic approach. The framework for character education program by reading is required to develop a program. The framework must be considered with a character factor and reading elements. The purpose of this study is to establish a framework that will help teacher librarian to develop a character education program by reading. This study analyzed on construction elements of character, reading material for character education, reading strategies, teaching methods. Then, this study propose a framework for developing character education program based on the analysis information. The proposed framework in this study consists of construction elements of character, reading material for character education, reading strategies, teaching methods.
