A Car Black Box Video Data Integrity Assurance Scheme Using Cyclic Data Block Chaining (순환형 데이터 블록 체이닝을 이용한 차량용 블랙박스의 영상 데이터 무결성 보장 기법)

  • The integrity assurance of recorded video by car black boxes are necessary as the car black box is becoming more popular. In this paper, we propose a video data integrity assurance scheme reflecting the features of car black box. The proposed method can detect any kind of deletion, insertion, modification of frames by cyclic chaining using inter block relation. And, it provides the integrity assurance function consistently even in cases of file overwriting because of no more free space in storage, partial file data lost. And non-repudiation is supported. Experimental results with a car black box embedded system with A8 application processor show that our method has a feasible computational overhead to process full HD resolution video at 30 frames per second in a real time.

  • The number of electronic embedded software in vehicle system is ever increasing for years. As a result, the electronic control units have been growing dramatically, and it is required to mutual link between these units. Due to separate API each and every embedded platform, it is difficult to develop and integrate in automotive industry. The AUTOSAR project consists suppliers and manufacturers, and the partnership is a standardized platform to establish and develop an industry standard. On the previous works, we implemented the RTE generated module design based on AUTOSAR architecture. This paper specifically focuses on the testing of the development tool that generates RTE source code. The result satisfied a need for a RTE requirements and AUTOSAR methodology in a vehicle applications.

  • Thanks to progressive development of IT technology, the number of intelligent devices communicating each other through an In-Vehicle Network(IVN) has been steadily increasing. It is expected that the required network bandwidth and network nodes for vehicle control in 2015 will be increased by two times and one and half times as compared to in 2010, respectively. As a result, many researchers in automotive industry has showed a significant interest on industrial Ethernets, such as EtherCAT and TTEthernet. This paper addresses an analysis on transmission delay and fault recovery performance with an EtherCAT network which is being considered as an IVN. A mathematical model based on the analysis is verified through a set of experiments using an experimental network setup.

  • To optimize the design of fuel cylinder for LNG vehicles, we introduced the design parameters of the inner and the outer tank of the vessel support structure by analyzing the structural characteristics of conventional design. We selected the inner and outer diameter of the hollow support bars and a dimension of the inner structure of the vessel among the design parameters for design optimization. In this study the temperature distribution and thermal stress of the support structure were evaluated by using the utility program as MSC/MARC. The evaluation criteria are first mode natural frequency, total transferred energy through support structure and thermal stress. The developed design satisfied the design criteria and it was made of prototype. The prototype was verified through three-dimensional vibration testing and thermal performance test.

  • According to the accident statistics of 2006, it can be recognized that drivers' characteristics and driving behaviors are the most causational factors on the traffic accidents. At present, many recording tools such as digital speedometer or black box are distributed in the market to meet social requests of decreasing traffic accidents and increasing safe driving behaviors. However, it is also true that the system preventing any possible vehicle accidents in advance has not been developed. In this study, we developed critical value for deciding dangerous driving behaviors. The developed critical value could be used to contribute to safety driving management systematization and safety driving behaviors.

The Study of Industrial Trends in Automotive Sensors Industry (차량용 센서 산업분석 및 발전방안)

  • Recently, IT-centered convergence between different industries has undergone rapid expansion, accompanied by major advances in u-IT development and digital convergence. Notably, in the automotive-IT convergence sector, automotive sensors and electronic devices interact closely and intelligently with each other, thereby increasing driver safety and convenience and creating the optimal driving environment. This has led to the generation of value-added for the future-oriented automotive industry. Sensing technologies - which are used to monitor traffic situations and transmit correct information (or warnings) on the road traffic situation to car drivers, and to provide accurate information to road traffic controllers - represent both the birth of high-safety, intelligent automotive technologies and the key to automotive manufacturing. In view of these developments, this paper examines the characteristics and structure of the automotive sensor industry, and outlines the policy implications for the automotive sensor industry with regard to the development of the automotive-IT convergence industry.

Performance Evaluation of Steel and Composite Safety Barrier for Bridge by Vehicle Crash Simulation (차량 충돌 시뮬레이션에 의한 강재 및 복합소재 교량용 방호울타리 성능 비교)

  • A composite safety barrier for bridge has been developed and the performance of the composite safety barrier for bridge has been compared with the steel safety barrier for bridge through computer simulation. As the structural strength performance, the composite safety barrier for bridge is superior to the steel safety barrier for bridge according that the deformation of the composite safety barrier for bridge is 17.0% of that of the steel safety barrier for bridge. As the passenger protection performance, the composite safety barrier for bridge is superior to the steel safety barrier for bridge according that THIV and PHD of the composite safety barrier for bridge are 47.1% and 49.0% respectively of those of the steel safety barrier for bridge. As the behavior of the vehicle after crash, the composite safety barrier for bridge is superior to the steel safety barrier for bridge showing the increased exit velocity and the reduced exit angle. Both of the steel and composite safety barrier for bridge are not scattered in the analysis.

  • 판토그라프는 전차선(catenary)으로부터의 전류를 차량에 전달하는 장치로서 전동차 지붕 위에 설치되어 있다. 판토그라프의 설계 목표는 고속 및 다양한 환경 조건하에서 연속적이고 일정한 량의 전류를 차량에 전달하도록 하는 것이다. 열차가 고속화될수록 전류의 흐름이 중단되는 이선, 접촉선과 판토그라프 집전판의 마모, 공력 소음 등이 큰 문제로 대두되며, 이들 문제들이 고속용 판토그라프의 설계 기술에서 중요시되고 있다. 특히 이선은 동력 전달이 중단될 뿐만 아니라 이선시에 발생하는 아크로 인한 마모 증대, 통신 장해를 일으킨다. 유럽과 일렬에서는 그러한 문제를 인식하고 고속용 판토그라프에 대한 연구를 활발히 진행하고 있다. 또한 저속전철이나 고속전철을 운행하는 나라에서는 기존의 가선계를 그대로 이용하면서 고속화를 달성하기 위하여 기존 가선계에 대한 최적의 판토그라프 설계에 노력을 기울이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 기존선 고속화에 필요한 최고속도 180km/h급 틸팅차량시스템의 핵심 구성요소인 판토그라프 제어기술에 대한 연구를 통하여 보다 안전한 틸팅차량용 판토그프사양 개발하는데 목적이 있다.

Determining the Appropriate Installation Angle of Skewed Sensor to Measure Vehicle Wandering (차량 원더링 계측을 위한 사선센서 적정 설치각도 결정)

  • This paper proposed the appropriate installation angle of skewed sensors for measuring vehicle wandering data, which are collected to figure out the location of dynamic weight of a moving vehicle on roadways. We developed a device using tape-switch sensors and a computer program and collected vehicle wandering data with the device and probe vehicles. As a result, the steeper the skewed sensor was installed, the lower the error was shown. However, we could not collect proper data when a skewed sensor was set up higher than $30^{\circ}$ due to tandem axle. Therefore, this study suggested the appropriate angle of skewed sensors as a degree of $20^{\circ}$ to $25^{\circ}$ for gathering wandering data.

  • 본 논문에서는 명암도 변화 및 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘과 개선된 오류 역전파 알고리즘을 이용한 차량 번호판 인식 방법을 제안한다. 비영업용 차량 영상을 대상으로 차량 번호판 영역을 추출하기 위해 명암도 변화 특성을 이용하여 차량 번호판 영역을 추출한다. 추출된 차량 번호판 영역에 반복 이진화 방법을 적용하여 차량 번호판의 영역을 이진화하고, 이진화된 차량 번호판 영역에 대해서 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘을 적용하여 개별 코드를 추출한다. 추출된 개별 코드 인식은 일반화된 델타 학습 방법에 Delta-bar-Delta 알고리즘을 적용하여 학습률을 동적으로 조정하는 개선된 오류 역전파 알고리즘을 적용한다. 제안된 방법의 인식 성능을 평가하기 위하여 실제 비영업용 차량 번호판에 적용한 결과, 기존의 차량 번호판 인식 방법보다 효율적인 것을 확인하였다.
