The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of individual tendency of individualismcollectivism and the type of incentive system on pay satisfaction. Data were collected from 243 workers employed in a variety of organizations and a hierarchical regression and MANOVA was conducted to test hypothesis. The results of regression indicated that the interaction between the type of incentive and tendency of collectivism has positive influence on pay satisfaction. In addition, the results of MANOVA indicated that the interaction between individual tendency of individualismcollectivism and the type of incentive system has significant effect on pay satisfaction Specifically, the tendency of individualism has positive influence on the pay satisfaction under the individual incentive condition. However, the tendency of collectivism has negative influence on the pay satisfaction partially under the individual incentive condition. In addition, the tendency of collectivism has positive influence on the pay satisfaction under the group incentive condition. These results suggest that careful consideration in the organization need to decide for the use of individual incentive system, when we regard the Korean culture as high tendency of collectivism. In other words, individual incentive system may could not provide pay satisfaction to the employees who have high level collectivism. However, to generalize these results, more studies were examined in the future.

최근 <수학기초론>이란 용어는 Burali-Forti paradox 이후 족(class)과 집합(set) 개념을 이해하려는 시도에서 출발한 20세기적 문제에 적용되고 있다. 이 글에서는 그 해결책으로 제시된 주의ㆍ주장 중 논리적인 모순을 해결하기 위한 Russel의 논리주의적 공리론에 바탕을 두고 살펴보려고 한다. 제 2장에서는 무한의 심연 속에 웅크리고 있는 집합론에서의 역설과 발생 원인에 대하여 살펴보았다. 제 3장에서는 공리론적 집합론 중에서 러셀의 유형론과 그것을 단순화시킨 현대의 유형론을 살펴보고, ZF 집합론과 ZF 집합론의 연장인 처치 집합론의 기본 공리를 살펴보았다.

본 연구의 목적은 한국의 가족 및 친족관계의 특성을 국제 비교적 맥락에서 분석하는 것이다. ISSP(International Social Survey Program)의 모듈인 '사회관계와 지원체계'를 조사한 2004년 한국일반종합조사의 자료를 바탕으로 하여, 한국의 친족 간 접촉빈도와 사회적 지원에서 친족이 차지하는 위치를 비교적 시각에서 분석하였다. 연구결과는 한국의 대면적 친족접촉빈도가 조사대상 국 중 최하위 권에 있으며, 한국의 가족 및 친족이 정서적 지원보다는 도구적 지원의 대상으로 작동하는 성격이 보다 강함을 보여주고 있다. 한국의 낮은 친족접촉빈도는 한국의 경제발전 수준이나, 강한 가족주의의 전통으로는 쉽게 설명되기 어렵다는 점에 주목하여, 유교적 전통 중 위계적 집합주의가 섬소한 대면적 접촉빈도를 설명할 수 있음을 주장하였다. 사회적 지원과 관련하여서는 한국의 가족주의가 도구적 가족주의의 성격을 가지고 있음을 확인하는 한편, 친족집단의 낮은 정서적 지원정도와 위계적 집합주의와의 관련이 논의되었다. 또, 이러한 낮은 정서적 지원의 양상이 반드시 한국의 가족관계가 비정서적인 것을 의미하는 것은 아니라는 것이 지적되었다.

The current paper examines the effect of collectivism on perceived youth unemployment anxiety as well as mental health and the mediating effects of employment self-efficacy; self-esteem; and the frequency of upward and downward social comparisons. In Study 1, data were gathered from 179 university students in upper-ranking schools and middle-ranking schools in Seoul, Korea. Our results indicated that (a) collectivism was positively correlated to, and also an significant predictor of perceived youth unemployment anxiety and mental health and (b) employment self-efficacy and self-esteem had mediating effects on the relationship between collectivism and perceived youth unemployment anxiety and mental health. In Study 2, data were gathered from 118 students in upper-ranking schools in Seoul, Korea. Our results indicated that (c) upward social comparison had mediating effects on the relationship between collectivism and perceived youth unemployment anxiety and mental health, while downward social comparison did not. The findings are discussed in terms of their general implications for understanding the importance of culture in employment seeking settings.

이 논문에서 우리는 집합의 두 점 사이의 관계를 소개하고, '가깝다'와 '충분히 가깝다'의 위상적인 개념을 다양하게 정의할 수 있음을 보인다. 또한 직관주의 논리와 관계가 있는 De Morgan frame을 소개하고 pre-order에 의하여 정의된 동치관계로 만들어진 동치류들의 집합을 기저로 생성된 위상 공간이 extremally disconnected 임을 보인다.

After social service voucher schemes were introduced in Korea, many controversies have been concentrated on market-based approach, which encourage competition and choice while amount of funding, number of providers, and types of services have been rapidly expanded. This also could mean that transform of social service paradigm from provider-centered approach to user-cantered approach, one of the trends found internationally. Therefore, this is the study to reveal development of social service discourses in Britain where various models of social services have been attempted in their modern history. Then, through the historical analysis, the trends toward more user-cantered approach were found to be distinguished based on the division of individualism and collectivism. This could provide theocratical implication to the current discussion on social services in Korea.

This study examines the features of Korean kinship relationships from the comparative perspectives. Based on ISSP (international Social survey program) data, it analyzes the degree of kinship contact and the source of instrumental and emotional social supports. The results show that the contact frequency among Korean kin is relatively low, and the instrumental social supports are more active than emotional social supports. Focusing on the fact that the lower contact frequency among Korean kin cannot be easily explained either the degree of Economic development nor the familism tradition, this study suggests that the hierarchical collectivism inhered in confucian tradition is responsible for the sparse kinship contact. Regarding social supports, results confirm the strong instrumental familism among Koreans. The relationship between hierarchical collectivism and lower emotional support from kin is also discussed. In addition, this study notes that lower extent of emotional support among kin cannot be identified with lower social solidarity among them.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between supervisors' transformational leadership, collectivism and the job satisfaction of teachers in kindergartens and childcare centers. The subjects were 240 teachers employed at kindergartens or childcare centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. The collected data were analyzed by mean of simple regression, hierarchial regression, and the use of SPSS Win 15.0. The results of our study are as follows. (1) Collectivism was positively associated with supervisors' transformational leadership. (2) The job satisfaction of teachers was positively associated with supervisors' transformational leadership. (3) The interaction effects of supervisors' transformational leadership and collectivism on the job satisfaction of teachers were observed.
