Intertextuality of Su-Hyeon Kim's Home-Dramas Focused on the , (김수현 홈드라마의 상호텍스트성 <목욕탕 집 남자들>과 <무자식 상팔자>를 중심으로)

  • This study is the subsequent full-scale research to explore an undisputed top Korean TV drama writer, Su-Hyeon Kim, more profoundly, who has been out of scholarly pursuits. As it begins with discussing her mixed tendency by genre, we discuss about a useful reading method of the writer's relatively conservative genre, a home-drama. For the purpose of the study, it sets up the intertextuality theory. This study assents to that criticism of diminishing in its original meaning of M. Bakhtin's dialogism, which led J. Kristeva to name and fix the term. Therefore this paper mainly applies the Bakhtin's intertextuality theory to analyze common elements of the writer's and . Also it applies the G. Gennette's intertextuality of 'imprints' and 'transformation' between hypotext and hypertext to figure out their correlation. The analysis shows that the writer's home-drama realizes its mutual relationship and intersubjectivity of the Bakhtin's core intertextuality concept, which results in gaining viewers' popularity. And it also explains that the writer uses 'repetition' and 'transformation' method of intertextuality to contain its intended message in her own home-dramas. As the result of the study, to the writer, Su-Hyeon Kim, while a melodrama genre is for her fundamental inquiry of a 'privative', 'fractured' human being, a home-drama genre is for her message of the only solution of a 'family' to that inquiry with her own intention.

The Curriculum Effectiveness Analysis for Improvement of Self-management Leadership Competency (자기관리 리더십 역량 향상을 위한 교과과정 효과성 분석)

  • aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of improved self - management leadership competence through 'self - management leadership'. This study aims to contribute to the development of self - management competency curriculum of universities. The subjects of this study were students who took core competency classes at D university in Seoul. The study group consisted of 221 subjects in the experimental group,who took the contents and 204 participants in the control group,who did not take the contents. The experimental group showed higher improvement than the control group. The experimental group showed greater improvement. In addition, the goal management competence was the highest in terms of the improved competence recognized by students who took courses in self-management and leadership. An analysis of the perceptions about self-management leadership competence enhancement showed that among self-management, goal management, relationship formation, leadership, collaboration, an goal management competence was improved the most. In the self - management domain, the highest improvement was observed in the areas of personality, self - reflection, self - confidence. In the goal management area, the areas of time management, goal setting, and vision were the most improved. Communication, listening, interpersonal relationship, and coaching questions showed the most perceived improvement among the relationship formation. In terms of leadership competency, problem solving and influence were the most improved areas, For collaboration competency, it was found that competency was the most improved at team play.

The Experiences of Nursing Student's Introductory Clinical Practice (간호대학생의 임상입문실습 경험)

  • This study was conducted to discover the meaning and the essential structure of the experiences of nursing students' introductory clinical practice. The participants were eight nursing students who had carried out the introductory clinical practice at a hospital. The data was collected from July 15 2019 to July 31, 2019 through focus group discussions and in-depth individual interviews using non-structured questionnaires. The data was analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis methodology. The introductory clinical practice experienced by nursing students was categorized as followed: 'Feel worried and concern about expectations at the same time', 'Hospital experience as reality', 'Becoming accustomed to complexed emotion's, 'The first step of becoming a nurse', and 'Preparation for the future'. The five categories were expanded in the same context according to time. The essential structure of the clinical introductory practice experiences of the nursing students revealed by the study is that they begin to practice feeling worried and concerned about expectations, and concern about experience and adaption to various situations, emotions and preparation for the future. Based on the results obtained from this study, it is necessary to develop a realistic and effective education program before starting clinical practice.

Effects of Interactions and Affective Factors in On-line English Grammar Courses of High Education (온라인 대학영문법 강의에서 상호작용과 정의적 요인이 교육효과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how interactions and affective factors are influencing on-line English Grammar courses of higher education. This study addressed the following questions: (1) How are the interactions going in on-line English Grammar courses? (2) Are affective factors influencing effective learning in on-line English Grammar courses? The questionnaire was conducted on 170 college students who have taken on-line English course of K University. The data analysis of 300 college students' responses on their courses showed that e-learning has both positive and negative effects compared to face to face classroom instructions. Analysis showed that the percentage of students who have got negative opinions on e-learning was 17%, while that of students who have got positive opinions was 49.3%. The percentage of those in the middle was 33.3%. However, results demonstrated that immediate feedback and affective factors could be facilitated through Q&A bulletin and feedback program for completing on-line learning. Negative effects of on-line learning can be solved by a planned and well-supported on-line approach that includes a theory-based instructional model rather than the new method replaced by 'blended learning' that combines face-to-face classroom instruction with on-line learning.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide an answer for the following question: What are the major shifts and implications of the unprecedently competitive and rapidly changing media ecosystem in the era of N-screen and OTT services? I've attempted to understand the complex and competitive nexus among media from an historical context by focusing on the displacement vs. complement thesis. The TPC model by Han has been employed for the analysis of the current dynamics of US media industries by triangulating three areas: Technology/industry, public policy and consumer/culture. More specifically, the US media landscape is initially divided into two competitive turfs - the competitors equipped with OTT services and the legacy media industry, and then the traditional media industry was grouped again into PayTV group(telecom service providers with IPTV and mobile TV, cable/Satellite TV networks) and Free (over-the-air) TV networks. Six major shifts were identified by the analysis: power shift in telecom carriers, power shifts in TV industry, Telecom/OTT partnership, time shifts, place shifts, and finally business model shifts.

A Study on the Subjectivity Recognition of Superior Hotel Employees for Menu Promotion (메뉴프로모션에 대한 특급호텔 종사원의 주관적 인식에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to analyze the influence relations by applying Q methodology to five-star hotel restaurants' culinary staffs through the research on the subjectivity of five-star hotels' restaurant menu promotion on culinary staffs' job satisfaction and work devotion. This paper largely suggested two research questions like following. Research Question 1: How is the acceptance type of culinary staffs' job satisfaction and work devotion regarding five-star hotels' restaurant promotion? Research Question2: What are the homogeneous characteristics and the implications shown in the acceptance type of culinary staffs' job satisfaction and work devotion regarding five-star hotels' restaurant promotion? In the results of typological analysis based on such research questions, total three types were drawn. In detail, the type1(N=13)(Active personal development type), the type2(N=10)(Normal menu pursuit type), and type3(N=2(Enterprise development pursuit type) showed distinctive characteristics to each other. Researching five-star hotels' culinary staffs' subjective cases, this study could not comparatively analyze diverse cases. Also, in the future, the follow-up research aims to gradually conduct more diversified and objective analysis by developing more detailed questions and analysis method of Q methodology.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the perception of the satisfaction of the undergraduate curriculum in the college undergraduate degree. The purpose of this study is to classify the structure of satisfaction of major curriculum, and to describe the characteristics of types of curriculum satisfaction in the major curriculum. The results of the type analysis are as follows. The first type (N = 5): In-depth major curriculum teaching method satisfaction type, the second type (N = 4): Practical learning class satisfaction type, the third type (N = 3) 4 types (N = 3): Employment Establishment centered class satisfaction type, 5th type (N = 3): Theory centered class satisfaction type, 6th type (N = 2) It is analyzed that there are various features for each type. In the future, we will revise and refine it with detailed Q methodological questions and analytical techniques, and analyze various opinions of respondents more concrete and objectively.

The Quality of Sleep and Its Relating Factors in Firefighting Officers (일부 남성 소방직공무원의 수면의 질 및 그의 관련요인)

  • This study was conducted to determine the association between quality of sleep (QOL) and the general characteristics, the health-behavioral factors, and the occupational characteristics of firefighting officers. The survey was conducted in October 2016 with a self-administered questionnaire using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) developed by Pittsburgh University, targeting 600 male firefighting officers working at five fire stations in D city. As a result, the QOL of the study subjects measured by the PSQI revealed 13.2% to be good, and 86.8% to be poor. In relation to general characteristics and health habits, the rate of the group who had poor quality sleep was significantly higher in those with a lower subjective health status, in the non-smoking group, and in the low sleep-quality group, compared to the good sleep-quality group. For occupational characteristics, the rate of those with poor quality sleep was significantly higher in groups such as the fire suppression group, the shift work group, the hard physical labor group, the group with a lower sense of satisfaction in their work, and in the group classed as unfit for the job but who were not considering quitting their jobs, compared to their respective counterparts. Multiple regression analysis revealed factors of influence with explanatory powers of 24.4% for subjective health status, alcohol use, subjective quality of sleep, career, job position, and physical labor. The results of this study suggest that the quality of sleep for firefighting officers is significantly related to general characteristics, health-behavioral characteristics, and occupational characteristics.

The economic effect of Korea-EFTA Mutual Recognition Agreement in the pharmaceutical industry using Conditional Valuation Method (CVM) (조건부가치평가법(CVM)을 이용한 한-EFTA간 제약 산업 상호인정협약 체결의 경제적 효과 분석)

  • An MRA is considered to be an important policy tool within the WTO for overcoming technical barriers to trade. A number of studies on the economic impact of MRAs have demonstrated their positive economic effects. However, no studies have been conducted on MRAs in the pharmaceutical industry since analysis has been limited to industries as a whole or certain industries where some data were accumulated. Therefore, this paper analyzed the economic impact of MRAs for GMP inspection exemption in the pharmaceutical industry through the Conditional Valuation Method (CVM), a valuation technique for non-market goods. Pharmaceutical companies were asked whether or not they were willing to pay for the Korea-EFTA MRA through double-bounded dichotomous choice (DBDC) questions. The final WTP was estimated using the utility difference model developed by Hanemann (1984). As a result, annual economic effects on the pharmaceutical industry were estimated to be between KRW7.03 billion to KRW15.8 billion.

Experiences and Meaning of Mentoring for Multicultural Children among Lower Nursing Students (저학년 간호대학생의 다문화아동 멘토링 경험과 의미)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences and meaning of nursing students participating in a multicultural children mentoring program and to find out how mentoring activities can contribute to the cultural competence of future nurses. This study was based on a qualitative research design through reflective journals and in-depth interviews. From March 20 to June 30, 2016, we collected data from 10 nursing students who participated in a mentoring program for multicultural children. The research question was what was the experience of nursing students participating in multicultural children mentoring? Reflective journals were created individually before participating in mentoring activities and after 10 mentoring activities. In-depth interviews were conducted with three participants to clarify the meaning of their reflective journal and identify the implications of additional mentoring activity experiences after the completion of the mentoring activities. The results were obtained for 3 central themes; Breaking the prejudice against cultural diversity, Understanding the reality of multicultural children, and Acquiring experience for the sake of growth. The results of this study can be used as the basic data for the development of a nursing education program for the purpose of enhancing the cultural competence of nursing students.
