  • Many kinds of robots and machines have been developed to replace human laborin industrial and medical fields, as well as domestic life. In these applications, the device sneed to obtain environmental data using diverse sensors. Among such sensors, the tactile sensor is important because of its ability to get information regarding surface texture and force through the use of mechanical contact. In this research, a simple tactile sensor was developed using the direct writing of pressure sensitive material and layered fabrication of photocurable material. The body of the sensor was fabricated using layered fabrication, and pressure sensitive materials were dispensed between the layers using direct writing. We examined the line fabrication characteristics of the pressure sensitive material according to nozzle dispensing conditions. A simple $4{\times}4$ array flexible tactile sensor was successfully fabricated using the proposed process.

  • It is possible to fabricate a three-dimensional (3D) shape using the solid freeform fabrication (SFF) technology. However, there are several problems in applying conventional SFF technologies to the direct manufacturing of a product. Hence, multimaterial SFF is gaining attention. Moreover, a 3D circuit device that is different from a conventional two-dimensional PCB can also be fabricated using multimaterial SFF. In this study, a hybrid system using fused deposition modeling and direct writing was designed for 3D circuit device fabrication.

  • This papre presents the RDM algorithm for composition of bit. After this, we propose a digital signature scheme for facsimile document using RDM algorithm. We modify the even-odd feature in distance of changing pel between coding line and multiple reference line which have been scanned before, and run-length in coding line. The time to take in signature is reduced by spreading of signature. Non-repudiation in origin, the 3rd condition of digital signature is realized by proposed digital signature scheme. The transmitter embeds the signature secretly and tensfers it, and the receiver makes a check of any forgery on the signature and the document. This scheme is compatible with the ITU-T.4(G3 or G4 facsimile standard). The total amount of data transmitted and the quality of image are about the same to that of the original document, thus a third party does not notics signature embeded on the document.

  • Direct writing(DW) is a method of patterning materials to a substrate directly, without a mask. It can use a variety of materials and be applied to various fields. Among DW systems, the flow-based type, using a syringe pump and nozzle, is simpler than other types. Furthermore, the range of materials is exceptionally wide. In additive processes, a three dimensional structure is made of stacking layer. Each layer is made of several lines. In this regard, good surface roughness of fabricated layers is essential to three dimensional fabrication. The surface roughness of any fabricated layer tends to change with the dispensing pattern. When multiple layers fabricated by a nozzle dispensing system are stacked, control of the nozzle position from the substrate is important in order to avoid interference between the nozzle and the fabricated layer. In this study, a fluid direct writing system for three dimensional structure fabrication was developed. Experimentsto control the position of the nozzle from substrate were conducted in order to examine the characteristics of the material used in this system.

  • This paper presents a digital signature scheme for facsimile document which directly embeds a signature onto the document. We use multiple reference lines which have been scanned just before and modify each distance of changing pels both on the reference line specified by key and on the coding line with a single bit of the signature data. The time to take in signature is reduced by spreading of signature. Non-repudiation in origin, the 3rd condition of digital signature is realized by proposed digital signature scheme. The transmitter embeds the signature secretly and transfers it, and the receiver makes a check of any forgery on the signature and the document. This scheme is compatible with the ITU-T.4(CCITT G3 or G4 facsimile standards). The total amount of data transmitted and the image quality are about the same to that of the original document, and thus a third party notices that no signature is embedded on the document.

  • The propagation characteristic of an optical waveguide was investigated by measuring with a near-field scanning optical microscope (NSOM) the evanescent field formed at the neighbor of its core-cladding interface. For this purpose, the NSOM system was developed specially as a form of Photon scanning tunneling microscope. The evanescent field distributions of several channel waveguides were measured at the wavelength of 1550 ㎚, and the usefulness of the system was verified by comparing experimental results with simulation results. In particular, the interference phenomena of the guided modes during their propagation along a multimode channel waveguide could be observed directly from the measured evanescent field distribution.

  • Purpose For nuclear medicine technologists, it is difficult to stay away from or to separate from radiation sources comparing with workers who are using radiation generating devices. Nuclear medicine technologists work is recognized as an optimized way when they are familiar with work practices. The aims of this study are to measure radiation exposure of technologists working in PET and to evaluate the occupational radiation dose after implementation of strategies to lower exposure. Materials and Methods We divided into four working types by QC for PET, injection, scan and etc. in PET scan procedure. In QC of PET, we compared the radiation exposure controlling next to $^{68}Ge$ cylinder phantom directly to controlling the table in console room remotely. In injection, we compared the radiation exposure guiding patient in waiting room before injection to after injection. In scan procedure of PET, we compared the radiation exposure moving the table using the control button located next to the patient to moving the table using the control button located in the far distance. PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DOSEMETER (PED), Tracerco$^{TM}$ was used for measuring exposed radiation doses. Results The average doses of exposed radiation were $0.27{\pm}0.04{\mu}Sv$ when controlling the table directly and $0.13{\pm}0.14{\mu}Sv$ when controlling the table remotely while performing QC. The average doses of exposed radiation were $0.97{\pm}0.36{\mu}Sv$ when guiding patient after injection and $0.62{\pm}0.17{\mu}Sv$ when guiding patient before injection. The average doses of exposed radiation were $1.33{\pm}0.54{\mu}Sv$ when using the control button located next to the patient and $0.94{\pm}0.50{\mu}Sv$ when using the control button located in far distance while acquiring image. As a result, there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion: From this study, we found that how much radiation doses technologists are exposed on average at each step of PET procedure while working in PET center and how we can reduce the occupational radiation dose after implementation of strategies to lower exposure. And if we make effort to seek any other methods to reduce technologist occupational radiation, we can minimize and optimize exposed radiation doses in department of nuclear medicine.

  • The spatial resolution of $high-T_{c}$ scanning SQUID microscope is limited by the washer size of SQUID and the gap distance between SQUID sensor and the sample. In this work, we tried to improve the spatial resolution of scanning SQUID microscope by reducing the size of SQUID sensor fabricated with $YBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{7}$ thin film. Outer dimensions of the SQUiDs we tested are 24 $\mu\textrm{m}$ $\times$ $ 28\mu\textrm{m}$, $12 \mu\textrm{m}$ $\times$ $16\mu\textrm{m}$, $12\mu\textrm{m}$ x $12\mu\textrm{m}$, $10 \mu\textrm{m}$ $\times$ $10 \mu\textrm{m}$ each. To operate them in the flux-locked loop scheme, we used a direct-coupled electronics instead of using conventional electronics involving a modulation scheme. Since the direct-coupled feedback scheme does not require modulation current adjustment that poses as a practical difficulty in the SQUID operation in modulation-scheme, the direct feedback operation is rather simpler than the conventional modulation method. The resulting noise features were dominated by the noise of preamp in FLL electronics except that of the largest SQUID. The noise levels of SQUIDs are expected below 1$\times$$10^{-5}$ $\Phi_{0}$H $z^{1}$2/ (at 300 Hz), that is a typical noise level for SQUID made of $YBa_2$C $u_3$$O_{7}$ thin film. The data acquisition and motion-controlling parts were also improved, resulting in faster data acquisition rate and less vibration of the system.m.
