Correspondence of Elementary School Students Anticipated Vocations, Perceived Competencies, and Interests (초등학생의 직업기대와 능력지각 및 흥미 일치도 분석)

  • This study examined a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. For the purpose, this study asked 659 primary school students what activities they liked, those they thought they were good at, and what job they expected when they grew up. The responses were coded into RIASEC Holland codes and agreement across the three questions was examined using kappa statistics. Results indicated that there was a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. When broken down into separate examinations by gender, males and females had significant kappas for agreement between vocation and competence. And the correspondence of competence and interest was significant for males too. We couldn't examine females' case because they didn't answer C-type of Holland. Examinations of the results by grade demonstrated that 5th-grade and 6th-grade had significant kappas for agreement between vocation and competence. However the correspondence of vocation and interest was significant for 5th-grade. the correspondence of competence and interest was significant for 5th-grade too. We couldn't examine 6th-grade's case because they didn't answer C-type of Holland. The result obtained from this study indicate that there is a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. Such a result means that children, 5th-grade and 6th-grade, can consider their competencies and interests with their vocations. The findings are especially relevant for counselors and teachers working with children.

The Effect of Interpersonal Relations Ability of College Students on Basic Skills (대학생의 대인관계능력이 직업기초능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effects of interpersonal skills of college students on basic competence. The results of this study were as follows: 81 male students (34.6%) and female students (65.4%) were surveyed. First, as a result of analyzing the differences in improvement of basic competence according to interpersonal skills, leadership ability was found to be a relationship between heterosexuality (p <.001, ${\beta}=.378$), individual fellowship (p < (P <.01, ${\beta}=.313$), and negotiation ability had a significant effect on individual friendship (p <.05, ${\beta}=.267$). Second, the correlation between interpersonal abilities and leadership abilities showed that interpersonal abilities correlated with leadership abilities due to individual friendship - leadership abilities, leadership abilities - heterosexuality, interpersonal relationship - leadership abilities. Third, the differences in the basic occupational ability according to gender were male students (M = 3.90), female students (M = 3.58), male students (M = 3.59) Male students (M = 4.16) and female students (M = 3.79) were higher than male students. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of interpersonal skills of college students on the improvement of basic competence and to verify the effectiveness of personal interpersonal skills.

A Study on the Correlation between Job performance and Vocational abilities of People with developmental disabilities (발달장애인의 직무수행도와 직업능력의 상관관계 연구)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the job-performance of manual wheelchair post-management and to find out the relationship between job-performance and vocational ability of people with developmental disabilities. In this study, situational evaluation and vocational evaluation were conducted for 9 subjects participated in the vocational training program about manual wheelchair post-management. The data was analyzed by non-parametric statistical processing. As a result, the job-performance was an average of 80.87%. The job-performance had a positive correlations with visual closure, kinesthetic integration, and basic concepts(p<.05). The relationship between job-performance and vocational abilities can be used as basic data for vocational training program and job assignment. It is expected to be useful of spreading the post-management job for assistive technology devices in the local community activated through the convergence of assistive technology and vocational rehabilitation.

  • 본 연구에서는 전문직업관이 업무수행 능력에 미치는 영향을 간호 서비스 종사자들을 대상으로 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 간호 서비스 종사자 대상으로 수집한 193부의 설문조사 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 전문직업관의 구성 요소 중 전문적 자아개념이 업무수행 능력에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 그 다음은 업무 전문성인 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 사회적 인식은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 업무수행 능력 향상을 위해 전문직업관을 어떻게 관리해 나가야 할 것인지에 대한 기초자료를 제공하엿다는데 의의가 있다.

A Study of Training and Development for Employees of Private Employment Service Agency (민간고용서비스 종사자의 직업능력개발 지원 방안)

  • In private employment service, providing employment information for job seeker and recruiter, providing information on job, job map, and providing vocational training and development have been paid attention. Particularly, it needs to train the employees, working at private employment service agencies. The purpose of the study was to examine the current trends of private employment service, service employees, and their training status. In the result, we suggest that it needs to manage the quality of service employees' qualification, to initiate the accreditation program for their expertise, and set up an institutions for training them. In addition, providing a program of supervision for employees, considering a set up of an mutual aid association among themselves, and developing specialized training programs.

Analyzing the Levels of Vocational key competencies Required by Radiological Technologist Job Description in Blind Hiring process (블라인드 채용 시 방사선사 직무기술서에서 요구하는 직업기초능력 수준 분석)

  • The objective of this study was to prepare the baseline data for vocational key competence of radiologists by analyzing the communication skills, problem-solving skills, self-development capability, interpersonal skills, and vocational ethics, which are required by NCS job descriptions for radiologists, of college students majoring in radiology. This study surveyed 79 sophomore and junior college students majoring in radiology at S University from Nov 19 to Nov 30, 2018, using questionnaires and analyzed the levels of vocational key competencies. The analysis results of vocational key competences levels showed that the level of interpersonal skills was the highest (71.2 points for juniors and 74.9 points for seniors). The levels of problem-solving skills and self-development capability were low. Conflict management capability, which is a sub-domain of interpersonal skills, was 77.5 and 80.5 points for juniors and seniors, respectively, which were the highest, while leadership ability was the lowest. When the sub-domains of self-development capability were analyzed, self-recognition capability was the highest (70.0 points for juniors and 74.8 points for seniors) and the career development capability was the lowest. Colleges are required to develop a customized regular curriculum that is well-linked to the clinic in order to improve the vocational key competencies required by the NCS job description to prepare for the blind hiring process. Colleges also put efforts to educate radiologists who can actively cope with rapidly changing medical environment by running various non-regular programs.

Differences of Perception Between Students and Teachers to the Key Competencies Education in the University through A College Practice (대학의 직업기초능력 교육에 대한 교수와 학생의 인식 차이: A대학 사례를 중심으로)

  • The expectation and importance for the key competencies education in the university have been greater. Although there have been many various efforts of the university for its social accountability that it should cultivate the qualified person company requires, there is a bit gap between the university education and social demand. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and demand of students and teachers to the key competencies and then offer a help to develop and operate strategies with which university education can be prepared for the demand of teachers, students and society. In this study, questionnaires on the perception and demand to the key competencies education were developed and responded by 475 students and 58 professors as a subject of this study. The results were analysed using multiple response frequency analysis, cross analysis and t-test. Also the statistical level of significance was set at p<.05 by using SPSS 12.0 for Windows. The results suggested that there were significant differences between the perception and demand of teachers and students to the key competencies education, particularly to the items questioning the degree of difficulty in preparing for future employment, the most important resource from which they can obtain aids, the degree of efforts they put for the key competencies development and employment, and the main factors for the key competencies development and employment. We can expect to offer an implication for the university education based on perception and demand of teachers and students to the key competencies.

  • This study is aimed to analyze the cognitive level of basic job skill for students, graduates, and teachers in a specialized high school, as well as for workers in a company, and to suggest an optimal educational curriculum by deciding the priority of the basic job skill in education in the field of mechanic, electric electronic semiconductor, and architecture civil engineering construction. This research was undertaken with the use of various statistic skills, the Borich method, and the locus for focus model. Also, this research shall be valued in synthetic understandings for curriculum revising. The educational priority which shall be applied to the mechanic, electric electronic semiconductor, and architecture civil engineering construction at specialized high school was analyzed, and according to this, a new curriculum was suggested. For mechanic, it put its educational priority on Expressing oneself, Problem solving, Self-development, Career development, Managing time, Negotiation, and Understanding technology. For electric electronic semiconductor, its focus was on Managing time, and for architecture civil engineering construction, they emphasized Problem solving, Self-development, Career development, Managing time, and Conflict management.

A study on the Correlation between Key Competencies and Teacher Efficacy of Pre-service Industrial Teachers (예비 공업교사의 직업기초능력과 교사효능감과의 상관관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the level of key competencies and teacher efficacy of pre-service industrial teachers as related to their personal backgrounds, and to analyze the correlation between personal variables, key competencies and teaching efficacy. This will be provided as basic resources for pre-service teacher training program to improve the understanding of key competencies and teaching efficacy of pre-service industrial teachers. The results of this study are as follows. First, the teacher efficacy of pre-service industrial teachers was found to be above average (M=3.0), and teaching efficacy (M=3.41) was found to be a bit higher than personal teacher efficacy (M=3.28). Upon analyzing the significant differences of teacher efficacy resulting from background variables, it was found that gender and major had no difference while the effect of school year on teaching efficacy of teacher efficacy showed statistically significant differences. Second, the lower regions of key competencies of pre-service industrial teachers all were above the average 3.0. Gender and school year were exhibited no significant difference, and only the global competence of key competencies showed significant difference. Third, it was found that the gender and major of pre-service industrial teachers had no correlation with teacher efficacy and key competencies. On the other hand, school year variable showed significant positive correlation with teacher efficacy (r=.274) and key competencies (r=.168). Lastly, it was found that key competencies and teacher efficacy had positive correlation of r=.475.

  • This study is aimed to evaluate the satisfaction level and effective value in acquiring the coffee-related private certificates for purpose of development and growth of the coffee industry in Korea. Analysis had being made to investigate on which parts of the vocational competencies designated by National Competency Standard are developed by the coffee-related private certificates implemented in Korea and the effect of such certificates on the job satisfaction and intent to utilize are further elaborated. While technical ability, self-development ability, problem-solving ability had a positive (+) effect on overall job satisfaction. Further, job satisfaction of vocational competencies had a positive (+) effect on the utilization intention. Through this study, it is found that the coffee barista private certificates have a considerable effect on the development of vocational competencies, improve the job satisfaction and are utilized as a material evaluating ability scales for recruitment and employment.
