Analysis of Relevance between Career Orientations and Job Characteristics of AIS User (AIS 사용자의 경력지향과 직무특성간의 관련성 분석)

  • To achieve this study, this study divide career orientations of AIS user into technology and management and group job characteristics into variety and autonomy and is to verify an effect of two factors on system performance (AIS satisfaction and use). The results of this study are as follows. First, there is a positive effect of the relevance between technology orientation and autonomy on AIS satisfaction. Second, there is a positive effect of the relevance between management orientation and job variety on AIS satisfaction. Third, there is a positive effect of the relevance between technology orientation and autonomy on AIS use, and finally, there is no positive effect of the relevance between management orientation and job variety on AIS use.

The Effect of Career Planning on Subjective Career Success of Organization Employees: Mediating Effects of Person-Organization Fit and Person-Job Fit (직장인의 경력계획이 주관적 경력성공에 미치는 영향: 개인-조직적합성과 개인-직무적합성의 매개효과)

  • Uncertainty of career environment driven by globalization and shift of employment context drives heavy competition of labor market and anxiety of employment for individuals. New career paradigm based on this environmental change puts emphasis on subjective career success from individual's viewpoint as important career outcome and individual's proactive career development efforts. In addition to this, importance of person-environment fit and person-job fit is growing in relationship between career planning and career success. Based on this perspective, this study aims to identify whether person-environment fit and person-job fit mediate the relationship between career development and subjective career success. Data analysis of questionnaire from 220 employees showed that both fits mediate the relationship. This result implies that individual's proactive career planning is critical to career success and this strengthens one's satisfaction to organization and job. To organization, strategies need to be developed to design career development of employees' based on their career needs and organizational intervention such as job-rotation system.

Antecedents and Outcome Variable and Mediating Effects of Continuous-Related Career Learning (지속경력학습의 선행 및 결과변인과 매개효과)

  • The present study is aimed to investigate antecedents(person-job fit, human capital investment) and outcome variable(subjective career success) of continuous-related career learning, and to demonstrate mediating effects of continuous-related career learning. The data which was applied to analysis was collected from 241 office workers who have worked for automobile company in Ulsan and public companies in Jeju and applied temporal separation of measurement as an alternative for common method bias. The results are as follows. First, person-job fit, human capital investment affected to career-related continuous learning positively. Second, the impacts of career-related continuous learning to subjective career success was positively significant. Third, the mediating effects by career-related continuous learning demonstrated statistically significant in the links between antecedents-outcome variables as partial mediation. Implications of this study contribute to expand research area of continuous-related career learning with regard to job and organizational variables, and to facilitate of research interests on subjective career success. In addition, the mechanism of career advance was empirically proved by continuous-related career learning.

The Effects of Hair Designer's Protean Career Orientation on Subjective Career Success : Mediating Effect of Job Commitment and Moderating Effect of Job Burnout (헤어디자이너 프로티언 경력지향성이 주관적 경력성공에 미치는 영향 : 직무몰입의 매개 효과 및 직무소진의 조절 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of job commitment and the moderating effect of job burnout on the relationship between the protean career orientation and subjective career success of hair designers. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 163 employees working at a representative A brand hair salon in Korea, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 21, and SPSS Process Macro v. 3.3. The results of this study are as follows: First, Protean career orientation affects job commitment to focus on oneself in all aspects related to their job, and as a result, it has a mediating effect on subjective career success that satisfies their career. Second, Through the interaction between protean career orientation and job burnout, the moderating effect on job commitment was confirmed. The significance of this study is to suggest a career success plan for hair salon workers with relatively high turnover rate in the service field by dealing with the understanding of the hair salon organizational culture and the lack of hair designer protean career orientation in terms of the mediating role of job commitment and job burnout in career success.

The Dual Mediation of Work Meaningfulness and Job Involvement on the Relationship Between Person-job Fit and Career Satisfaction (직무적합이 경력만족에 미치는 영향에서 일의 의미와 직무몰입의 이중매개 효과)

  • The present study aimed to examine the relationship between person-job fit, work meaningfulness, job involvement, and career satisfaction, which have recently gained attention from employees and HR professionals. Based on previous studies, we logically established a path from person-job fit to work meaningfulness, job involvement, and ultimately career satisfaction. This study sought to validate these dual mediating effect. A survey was conducted with 283 employees, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 21 and Process Macro. The main findings of the study are as follows: person-job fit, work meaningfulness, job involvement, and career satisfaction showed positive correlations. The dual mediating effects of work meaningfulness and job involvement on the relationship between person-job fit and career satisfaction were statistically significant. These results imply that in order to prevent employee turnover and ensure the organization's sustained performance, it is necessary to design jobs in a way that allows employees to perceive their work as suitable and aligned with their characteristics, thereby enhancing positive psychological factors such as work meaningfulness, job involvement, and career satisfaction. The conclusions provide implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research.

High-tech Employees' Job Rotation Experience Characteristics Influencing Subjective Career Success: The Mediating Effect of Perception of Job Rotation (첨단기업 근로자 직무순환 경험특성이 주관적 경력성공에 미치는 영향: 직무순환 인식의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships between high-tech employees' job rotation experience characteristics, perception of job rotation, and subjective career success. It also aims to examine the mediating processes through which high-tech employees' job rotation experience characteristics contribute to employees' subjective career success. The results from hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that high-tech employees showed higher subjective career satisfaction when they were transferred to another job voluntarily, and the frequent job rotations have an adverse effect on employees' career satisfaction. It also turned out that employees' perception of job rotation fully mediated the relationship between job rotation experience characteristic and subjective career success. Finally, implications, limitations, and research recommendations are discussed.

  • In order to maximize customer's satisfaction, high-value service needs to be created by reducing service delivery errors and miscommunications. Employee's job rotation experience will help them to reduce errors and develop their career. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of job rotation on employability and subjective career satisfaction. The results clarifies the hotel's job rotation system and examine the relationship among job rotation, employability and subjective career satisfaction. Taking samples from full-time workers in hotel, total 370 participants were used in the analysis. The SEM approach was used to analysis the data with AMOS 20.0. The results show that job rotation has a positive influence on employability and subjective career satisfaction. Moreover, employability has a partial mediation effect between job rotation and subjective career satisfaction. Therefore, the study contributes to generate theoretical and practical implications in hospitality industry.

The Effects of Hair Designer's Job stress on Flourishing : Dual-mediating Effect of Work engagement and Career commitment (헤어디자이너의 직무스트레스가 번영에 미치는 영향 : 직무열의와 경력몰입의 이중매개 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of job stress of hair designers on flourishing, and to verify whether work engagement and career commitment have dual mediating effects. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 177 hair designers of various positions who are engaged in domestic B brand, and the relationships of variables was verified using statistical package SPSS 21.0 and SPSS Process Macro v. 3.3. The research model of dual mediating effect was demonstrated. First, it was confirmed that the job stress of the hair designer had a negative effect on the flourishing through the simple regression analysis. Second, job stress had a negative indirect effect on flourishing showing the dual mediating effect of work engagement and career commitment, and the direct effect of job stress of hair designers on flourishing turned out to be insignificant confirming a complete double mediating effect. These results means, job stress reduces successively job engagement, career commitment and finally harms the well-being of hair designer.

  • The aim of this study is to show how much career management system of hospital affect the psychological state and career effectiveness for hospital employees. The research was dealing the issues about hospital's career management system which affect organizational engagement. Moreover, these psychological factors have to be analyzed in the relation of career effectiveness. Finally, based on the analyzed results, this study has provide useful information for hospital management to establish efficient and productive human resources-management measures in therms to increase in organizational engagement and career commitment of employees as well. Questionnaires were distributed to employees who are working in hospital located in Seoul city. We found that career management support systems have a significant effect on job engagement. In addition, job engagement influences significantly career commitment. Conclusion and implications are discussed.

A Study of Influence on the Psychological State of Hospital Employees through Convergence Career Management Systems (병원의 융복합적 경력관리제도가 직원의 심리상태에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to show how much career management systems of hospital affect the psychological states of hospital employees. The research was dealing the issues about hospital's career management systems which affect exhaustion, cynicism, and job engagement. We found that job rotation has a negative significant effect on exhaustion. In addition, job rotation also negatively influence cynicism. On the other hand, career education and training has a positive effect on job engagement. Career management support systems and evaluation of career development, however, do not have significant effect on dependent variables. Thus, effective career management systems for hospital organizations are job rotation and career education and training programs. Finally, based on the analyzed results, this study has provide useful information for hospital management to establish efficient and productive human resources-management systems in order to increase in job engagement and reduce exhaustion and cynicism of employees as well.
