The purpose of this paper is to find out the needs of housing contents in highschool Home Economics among students. The 105 housing contents and topics were chosen from the 3 textbooks and related references. The number of 516 questionnaire from 8 areas were used to analyze. Analyses indicated that respondents were more likely to favor Home Economics subject and one out of five wanted to select it. Average needs of the housing contents was above middle(3.4) and these was a little difference among 3 middle units in housing. The most needed unit was housing design. There was a more wide difference in 19 small units than in middle ones, ranged $3.00\sim3.91$. Individual contents showed the most variousness in needs from 2.89 to 4.30 in the middle unit of housing and environments, 3.00 to 4.01 in housing design, and 2.68 to 3.91 in housing management. The needs of additional contents were about the same as those textbook contents and it indicated that new textbook needs to adopt the newly demanded housing contents. Some of individual, family, and environmental characteristics were significantly related to the students needs. The higher positive attitude such as favor, interest, and selecting of the subject was related to the higher needs of housing contents. Residential areas and neighboring were also related to most of the needs of individual housing contents.
This paper compared and contrasted Korean and Singaporean textbooks in order to explore the direction and possibility of teaching the big ideas related to the addition and subtraction of fractions with different denominators proposed by Lee & Pang (2016a). Firstly, we examined the teaching sequences related to the addition of fractions with different denominators in a series of elementary mathematics textbooks of Korea and Singapore. We then analyzed what types of representations are used and how the representations are presented for the big ideas related to the addition of fractions with different denominators. The results of the analysis showed that the contents related to fraction addition are addressed more gradually and systematically in Singaporean textbooks compared to Korean counterparts. The graphical representations appeared in the Singaporean textbooks provide specific implications for teaching the big ideas of the addition of fractions with different denominators. Based on such implications, we expect that the big ideas related to the addition of fractions with different denominators will be addressed explicitly and systematically in Korean textbooks.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the responses of pre-service elementary school teachers to the task that require to apply mathematics knowledge for teaching and from this investigation to draw some conclusions about teacher education. To do the study, task was to develop teaching materials and devise lesson plan for introducing the concept of plain figure 'kite'. For gathering data, 77 pre-service elementary school teachers were selected from the University of Education located in G city. Several conclusions were drawn as follow: first, task for applying MKT is needed to check whether pre-service teachers can apply. Second, assessment is needed to check what kind of MKT do pre-service elementary school teachers have.

This study is to analyze on territorial education described in geography textbooks in Korea and Japan. The following is the result that shows similarities and differences of the geography textbooks when it comes to territorial education. Korea and Japan have a contrasting territorial background. However, both countries start their territorial education by learning the location and shape of their country. Japanese geography textbooks focus on what people in the world think of Japan, but in case of Korea, the geography textbooks focus on how Koreans look at the world. In short, the territorial education in Japan try to emphasize Japan from the view point of the world. The next common ground is that the two countries provide territorial models in their geography textbooks in order to increase understanding. However, the Japanese students are provided with these territory models much earlier than Korean students and these models help them visualize and solidify their concept of territory. And, the two countries both put great importance on teaching territorial sea. In Japan, they try to include EEZ(Exclusive Economic Zone) in their territory. Considering these facts, it can be concluded that Japan is enlarging their concept of national territory as maritime territory. Lastly, after learning of territory the two countries both treat on territorial problems. But Korea treats passively territorial problem as such Dokdo, but Japan treats actively their territorial problems. Like that, the contents of territorial education described in geography textbooks in Korea and Japan are similar in terms of selection, but differ in quality in terms of organization. Therefore, future territorial education in Korea will be actively and successively done through succession and sequence of geography curriculum.

The aim of the study is to investigate the awareness towards drinking in the university students and to provide the basic data for more realistic and efficient drinking prevention policy. The subject of investigation was students at the Department of Medicine/Health and those at the Department of Engineering among students living in N city and D city and the survey, which was constructed by KPHA, was distributed to 300 students from March 4, 2013 to March 8, 2013 with explaning the purpose, contents and entry method of the investigation. Overall 293 responses were collected, as 48 reponses from the Department of Medicine, 98 from the Department of Health, 147 from the Department of Engineering. Among the factors that affect students' drinking, as a general factor, a grade(p<0.05) had an influence, if a general factor and drinking condition are included, it turned out that the first drinking time(p<0.01) and friends' drinking condition had an influence. Accountance of the whole model was turned out as 20.0%. Considering university students' drinking culture, it is suggested that active education and campaign through anti-drinking student groups will contribute to create healthy drinking culture.

Studies on the role of agricultural science colleges are mostly divided into agricultural production, which is the primary function of agriculture, and other functions, which have recently begun to be emphasized as a result of social needs. With the green revolution and the aging of the farming population, there is a strong view that the role of agricultural science colleges should remain as it is. However, agriculture is expanding in terms of concept and content by converging with other industries not traditionally associated with agricultural production. Thus, the fields that now need to form part of agricultural science knowledge are becoming more detailed and expansive. The government's perception remains at the level of merely fostering farmers. This was evident in a survey on the employment rate, a factor used to evaluate colleges, in which the role of agricultural science colleges was limited to fostering farmers. Agro- industry fields, other than agriculturalists, include general industries in which the academic fields of agricultural science are combined with other academic fields. Thus, even when someone is employed in an industry that requires background knowledge of agricultural science, there is often a perception that he or she is employed in a field that is irrelevant to the major. This study examines the role of agricultural science colleges in agriculture and farm villages by focusing on the employment of graduates of these colleges within agro-industry. We categorize academic research on agricultural science into 16 fields, based on the medium level of the National Standard Science and Technology Classification Codes. Then, we categorize the employment fields into 168 fields, based on the small classification level of the inter-industry relations classification. Thus, we investigate 220 departments of 37 colleges, nationwide. Our findings show that the average employment rate of graduates of agricultural science colleges is 69.0%. Furthermore, 33.0% of all employees work in agro-industry fields that require background knowledge in agricultural science, which is one out of three job seekers. Then, 3.6% of employees work in business startups in agro-industry. The aforementioned government survey showed that only 0.1% of all college graduates in Korea were employed as agriculturalists in 2013. However, our results showed that 13.3% of graduates were working as agriculturalists, which is significantly different to the results of the government survey. These results confirm that agricultural science colleges contribute greatly to the employment of graduates, including farmers, agro-industry, and business startups in agro-industry fields.

This study is analyzed survey based on classes of computational thinking to identify problem solving ability, to reflect them in curriculum plan for software education. Through analyzing difficulties on computational thinking learners by pre/post test on problem solving ability, the education method of software curriculum was proposed. For this study, the subject, scope of content, and activity plan were organized into 15 weeks of software curriculum for 2 hours per week, and questionnaire was conducted for 63 students. As a result, the 'Humanities Departments' have shown higher problem solving ability improvement than 'Science and Engineering Departments'. Based on the results, in order to cultivate creative fusion-type talent, the theoretical systems that fundamentally define thinking and perception must be fused with each other. In addition, software education should be improved to be extended to non-majors in various fields.

Computer education currently executed at elementary schools showed problems of system of education curriculum, repetition, and lack of consistent system as a result of analyzing index for information and communication technology, education curriculum, and related literatures, and most of the education contents have difficulty to nurture logic thinking and problem-solving ability since they are composed mainly of software function learning. Concerning this issue, this study suggests an innovated computer education curriculum with reinforced information ethics field with computer principle, algorithm, and programming, in other words, a corrected and supplemented version of former content system based on computer science guidance cases of ACM education curriculum model of USA, computer education curriculum of state Tennessee, and information technology education curriculum of Great Britain judging that introduction of computer science factors are desperate to improve computer education curriculum in elementary schools.
In this study, we proposed a plan to educate computer students at industrial specialized high schools about artificial intelligence programming using Raspberry Pi. To create an educational program, we received advice from experts working in schools and industries, analyzed existing research and requirements, designed weekly learning plans, developed teaching materials, and conducted classes. Due to the small number of research subjects, interviews were conducted with students, and the results of the teacher's diary were also presented to derive qualitative research results. The main interview results show that although it is true that interest in the field of artificial intelligence has increased through the class, many responded that the learning content is still difficult. The teacher's diary mainly included information about the latest trends in the industry that informatics and computer teachers should not miss out on. We hope that this study will provide an opportunity to meet the needs of the industry by increasing the proportion of artificial intelligence programming in industrial specialized high schools.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how a peer mentoring method affects students' problem solving abilities and class satisfaction in the context of high school quadratic curves and provide implications for teaching and learning mathematics. For this study, seventy six 11th graders in the natural sciences track participated in the peer mentoring method. After finishing the teaching method, Problem Solving Abilities Questionnaire was collected for analysis of pre-test/post-test experiments and Class Satisfaction Questionnaire was also gathered. The results show that the mentoring method positively impacts on participants' problem solving abilities and class satisfaction because its comfortable learning environments, individualized learning contents, and unconstrained learning processes motivate them through ways to improve their communication. According to the results, it is to address practical implications applied in teaching quadratic curves in high school with the value and importance of mentoring methods.
