The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of self-efficiency on the relationship between grit, health perception and health promotion behaviors of nurses and to provide baseline data to improve health promotion. A structured questionnaire survey was carried on 242 nurses at an university hospital in D-city. The strong and positive effects of grit, self-efficiency and health perception on health promotion behaviors were found. Self-effica -cy had a perfect mediating effection the effects of grit on health promotion behavior and a partial mediating effect on the effects of health perception on health promotion behavior. The study results suggest the need for various intervention programs based on multiple factors associated with grit, health perception and self-efficiency in order to enhance health promotion behaviors of nurses.
The unprecedented pandemic caused by the COVID-19 has led to a massive global public health campaign to slow the spread of the virus. Thus, this study examines the importance of individual's prevention behavior intention by adapting health belief model(HBM). In addition, we added social variables to understand the prevention behavior better considering the situation in which collective behaviors are important. The online survey results(N=298) showed that higher level of perceived severity, perceived susceptibility, perceived benefits, perceived peril, perceived social norms and lower level of perceived responsibility led to higher prevention behavior intention. Peril was the most influential factor among all the variables. In addition, perceived severity and social norms followed after that. Additional analysis also implied that socio-HBM model we proposed better explained the prevention behavior intention than traditional HBM.
The purpose of this study aimed to identify the level of knowledge & preventive health behaviors related to COVID-19, self-efficacy, anxiety, and perceived stress of students at a nursing college and to investigate the correlation between them. The data were collected from 133 students at a nursing college in Seoul, Korea, from April 15, 2022 to May 10, 2022 through a Google online questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 25.0 to perform descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficients. As a result of analyzing the difference according to general characteristics, preventive health behavior showed a significant difference according to the necessity of COVID-19 infection control education, and self-efficacy showed a difference according to the subjective health status. The degree of instability of the subjects was shown to have significant differences according to grade and subjective health status, and perceived stress showed significant differences according to subjective health status. The result of analyzing the correlation between preventive health behavior and knowledge, self-efficacy, anxiety, and perceived stress showed that there was no significant correlation, but self-efficacy had a significant negative correlation with anxiety and perceived stress, and anxiety had a significant positive correlation with perceived stress. The results of this study will be used as basic data for education programs and countermeasures to prevent COVID-19 infections.

This study was conducted to evaluate the health promotion behavior level, health beliefs, and self-efficacy of individuals preparing for civil service examinations, as well as the main factors that influence their health promotion behavior. The study subjects were 290 individuals who were preparing for civil service examinations in Noryangjin, where there are a lot of private institutions that provide training for the examinations. Data were collected by questionnaire surveys conducted from December 1 to 19, 2017. With the use of SPSS ver. 23, descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression were conducted. On average, the score for health promotion behavior practice was $2.37{\pm}0.45points$, health beliefs $3.13{\pm}0.45points$, and self-efficacy $3.55{\pm}0.74points$. Health promotion behavior was significantly positively correlated with perceived severity and perceived benefits, which are sub factors of health beliefs (r=.60, p<.001; r=.55, p<.001), while it was significantly negatively correlated with perceived barriers, which are a sub factor of health beliefs (r=.32, p<.001). The factors that influenced health promotion behavior were perceived health condition and perceived barriers, and the explanatory power of health promotion behavior was 25.1% (F=13.58, p<.001). In general, respondents studied for the examinations for a long time and were under severe job pressure; accordingly, they need to have quality meals, regular exercise, and regular medical check-ups to enhance health promotion behavior to control their stress.
This study aims to investigated the status of perceived health status, subjective body recognition, and weight change according to age. In addition, the main factors of interest of middle-aged and elderly people were analyzed. This is a secondary data analysis study using data from the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES VIII-3, 2016-2018), Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The data were analyzed the data using IBM SPSS 21.0 program. Frequency analysis and chi-square test method was conducted. The significance level was set at p <.01. As a result of the analysis, subjective body recognition and perceived health status were identified to have a statistically significant positive relationship (r=0.256, p<.01). Perceived health status and weight change measured for a year also showed a statistically significant positive relationship (r=0.303, p<.01). Therefore, it is anticipated that the findings of this study are used as basic data for seeking ways for better health, quality of life, and well-being, as the study examines subjective health status and various variables applicable to middle-aged people.

Since Korean housewives are responsible for the dietary practices of family at home, it is important to know what information will make them to buy safe food. This study was designed to determine the role of perceived threats, behavioral assessments, and self-efficacy factors known to promote healthy behavior in health belief models (HBM) based on food safety awareness and behavior of housewives. This study involved 191 housewives, based on key variables such as perceived severity, perceived susceptibility, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, self-efficacy, and purchase behavior. The results showed that higher levels of education and urbanization increased the threat perception and the likelihood of buying safe food. The correlation analysis showed that increased awareness and knowledge of safe foods and interest in health contributed to higher relative benefit or self-efficiency of food, and thus, ensured food safety. The conceptual model of food safety behavior based on the HBM was verified via structural equation analysis. The findings suggest that a suitable model showcasing knowledge levels and relative benefits resulted in a greater impact on purchasing behavior than perceived threats. This study suggests that it is more effective for housewives to provide more preventive information than risk information to purchase safe food.
