  • The purpose of this study was to examine influencing factors on plastic surgery addiction tendency. The participants, 223 undergraduate women, completed the ACSS, SATAQ, and MBSRQ. Data were collected from May, 2014 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square test, ANOVA, logistic regression analysis. Each of variables related to plastic surgery were analyzed between positive expectation group, addiction risk group, or addiction group compared to stable group. The prevalences of stable, positive expectation, addiction risk, and addiction group were 21.1%, 35.0%, 32.7%, and 11.2%, respectively. 45.7% had at least one personal plastic surgery. Personal experience of plastic surgery, high levels of ACSS (Consider), high levels of SATAQ (Internalization), and high levels of MBSRQ (Appearance Evaluation) were all associated with plastic surgery addiction tendency. The results of this study suggest that prevention of early plastic surgery, sociocultural influence and body image disturbances as well as safe guidance for plastic surgery are important in preventing the plastic surgery addiction.

In this vein, this study examined key antecedents of technology addiction in the MMS environment. We posit technology habit and user satisfaction as key predictors of technology addiction. In addition, the impacts of social interaction and flow on use's technology addition formation were investigated The research framework was tested by using survey data collected from 278 Kakaotalk users who have used more than 6 months. The analysis results found that both technology habit and user satisfaction play an important role in generating technology addiction in the MMS context. The findings of this study indicate that social interaction and flow significantly affects technology habit and user satisfaction. The analysis results help government and MMS providers establish policies or strategies to induce healthy MMS use.

  • Previous studies have shown the significant association between loneliness and game addiction. To determine the causal relationship between them, the present study utilized a series of autoregressive cross-lagged models to early adolescent panel data (N = 346) from KOCCA's Game User Panel Research. Results indicated that loneliness and game addiction, respectively, had relatively strong and stable autoregressive effects across four time points. Also, game addiction at a prior time increased loneliness at a later time, but loneliness was not significantly related to game addiction later in time. These results suggest that game addiction may cause loneliness, not the vice versa.

A descriptive research design was used. The subjects were 358 middle school students from five middle school in Daegu. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$ test, t-test, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 18.0. Smartphone addiction-risk group was 97(27.0%) and general group was 261(72.9%). Smartphone addiction-risk group was more negatively perceived parenting attitude and higher academic stress than the general group. The most influential factors on addiction-risk group was using time in a day(${\beta}=.29.4$, p=.003) and general group was academic stress(${\beta}=.298$, p=.000). It is important to develop an intervention program to prevention the smartphone addiction according to the classification of addiction-risk group.
