Indexing Moving Objects with Real-Time Updates (실시간 갱신을 통한 이동 객체의 색인 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose the index structure supporting the future position retrievals with efficiently updating continuous positions of moving objects in location based services. For reducing update costs of moving objects, our index structure directly accesses to the leaf node with moving objects using secondary index structure and performs bottom up update when node information is changed. Positions of moving objects are stored in primary index structure. In primary index structure, the split information similar to kd-tree is stored to internal node for increasing node's fanout. And the proposed index structure supports the future position retrievals using velocity of moving objects in the child node.

  • Recently, there has been introduced various types of pairing computations to implement ID based cryptosystem for mobile ad hoc network. According to spreading the applications of pairing computations, various fault attacks have been proposed. Among them, a counter fault attack has been considered the strongest threat. Thus this paper proposes a new countermeasure to prevent the counter fault attack on Miller's algorithm. The proposed method is able to reduce the possibility of fault propagation by a random index of intermediate values. Additionally, it is difficult to challenge fault attacks on the proposed method since a simple side channel leakage of 'if' branch is eliminated.

Battery Lifetime Enhancement Based on Recovery Effect (회복효과에 기반한 배터리 사용 시간 연장 기법)

  • This paper proposes a battery lifetime enhancement method based on the nonlinear discharge charisteristics called recovery effect. In general, the stored energy in a battery is considered in the prediction of battery lifetime. However, due to the chemical reaction in a battery, more energy can be drawn from a battery when it is not continuously but intermittently discharged, which is called recovery effect. In the proposed method, several battery cells are alternately discharged, and some battery cells rest while maintaining the system power supply. This makes recovery effect of battery cells, which extends battery lifetime. In the experiment, battery lifetime increases about 7% in the alternating discharge of two battery cells, when compared with conventional parallel discharge.

  • Personalized message syndication is an important process for maximizing the effect of mobile marketing. This paper proposes an algorithm for determining clients satisfying target conditions in real-time. The proxy server as an intermediate node stores client profiles (gender, age, location, etc) and their respective summaries into a database. When a company syndicates messages at run time, the proxy server maps target conditions expressed by boolean expressions to integer value and determines target clients by comparing target value with profile summary. Thus, this approach provides efficient personalized message syndication in very large systems with millions of clients because it can determine target clients in real-time and work with a traditional database easily.

  • 원자로 내에서 연소 중인 핵연료나 저장 또는 재처리 중인 사용후핵연료의 성분으로서 시설의 공정설계, 안전성분석 및 차폐설계에 중요한 입력자료가 되는 핵분열생성물질, 방사화생성물 및 악티나이드의 핵종 농도와 이에 대응하는 방사능 강도의 기기 별 시간변 화율을 해석할 수 있는 코드 개발할 목적으로 MULTISAMS 정상 평형상태 모델을 구현하였다. MULTISAMS 코드의 반응공정 모델은 서로 연결되어 있으며 내부에 방사성물질의 혼합유체가 순환하는 세 종류의 반응기(원자로, 열교환기 및 화학반응기) 계통에서 자연적 또는 설계에 의해 일어나는 현상으로서; 반응기 간의 물질 흐름; 각 반응기 내에서 방사성 붕괴, 변환, 이동과 중성자 흡수 및 핵분열; 외부로부터 특정 핵종의 유입혹은 유출을 고려한 시간종속 핵종농도보존방정식 이론에 근거한다. 코드의 유용성 및 신뢰성을 검증하기 위해 현재 개념설계가 진행 중인 AMBIDEXTER원자력 에너지시스템을 대상으로 ORIGEN2 계산과 비교하였다. 두 코드 간의 입력조건과 배경이론차이점 때문에 절대적 비교가 불가능하므로 단순이론의 중간매개코드로서 SAMS를 이용한 2단계 비교방법을 따랐다. 결론은 MULTISAMS는 ORIGEN2 계산의 수렴치와 근사하게 일치하면서 ORIGEN2 가 다룰 수 없는 핵주기 연속후처리공정의 정상가동 시 핵종 평형농도를 기기 별로 계산할 수 있다는 장점을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, a processor architecture is proposed based on the state space implementation technique for real time processing of 2-D discrete wavelet transform(DWT). It conducts 2-D DWT operations in consideration of row and column direction simultaneously, thus can reduce latency due to memory access for storing intermediate results. It is a VLSI architecture suitable for real time processing. The proposed architecture includes only four multipliers and four adders, and NK-N internal memory storage, where K denotes the length of filter. It has a small hardware complexity. Therefore it is very suitable architecture for real time, embedded applications such as web camera server. Since the processor is easily extended to array structure, it can be applied to various image processing applications.

  • This paper shows the research about the development of software receiver processing Galileo E1B signal. it is introduced the structure of Galileo receiving software using sampled IF data as a program input. And the performance of SDR(Software Defined Radio) embodied using MATLAB tool is analyzed. Embodied SDR is modulated according to their roll and function.

  • The access to web applications has continuously evolved toward the adoption of content centric interfaces. Services and information items are much of user's concern than web sites. For an efficient accommodation of increasing needs of content oriented operations, the scope of domain names is extended in two directions. A naming scheme is derived that is suitable for resource level access units and the semantics of domain names is conceived as very flexible functions. First extension regards the removal of unnecessary TLD's of domain names for resource level binding. Second extension makes the resource level domain names rich in functional binding and consequently various applications can be directly triggered by the invocation of domain names without intervening medium. These extensions may lay a certain direction for the future internet evolution.

  • This paper introduces the basic concepts and requirements of database system based on the object-oriented paradigm,and presents the overview of the design of an object-oriented data base system which refects those conceprs and requirements . The system imolemented on C++,consists of three structure layers.The inner layer, which is in fact a storage system,performs file I/O,while the inermediate layer is responisible for most of the functions except the ones rerated to the user interface, such as the transaction management,the schema manage-ment,and the management of buffers in main memory etc.The outer layer,designed mainly for the uwerunteface,mot only privides the functions for graphical user interface,preprocessor,and interpreter etc,but also supports extended SQL for object-oriented features.

  • MRAM uses magneto-resistance material as a storage element, which stores cell data as a polarization of spin in a free magnetic layer. This magneto-resistance material has hysteresis, asteroid curve at the thermal variation, and R-V characteristics for switching the data. Therefore, a macro-model which can reproduce these characteristics is required for MRAM simulation. We propose a macro-model of TMR (Tunneling Magneto Resistance) that can reproduce all of these characteristics on HSPICE. Also we propose a novel sensing scheme, which generates reference resistance having the medium value, ( $R_{H}$+ $R_{L}$)/2, for a wide range of applied voltage and present simulation results based on the HSPICE macro-model of MTJ that we have developed.d.d.
