As the boundaries between disciplines have been weakened and interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary subjects have increased, there is a limitation to express subjects with DDC. This study evaluates DDC instructions using interdisciplinary numbers and classifying more than one discipline through Delphi research. As a result, it is found that there is a need for defining separately 'interdisciplinary subjects' and 'multidisciplinary subjects', based on the level of integration among disciplines, and improving the instruction to maintain the consistency in assigning and filing classification numbers. It is also discussed that to enhance the symbols' power of expression, an analytic/synthetic method could be adopted.

The construction of ontology defines as complicated semantic relations needs precise and expert skills. For the well defined ontology in real applications, plenty of information of instances for ontology classes is very critical. In this study, crawling algorithm which extracts the fittest topic from the Web overflowing over by a great number of documents has been focused and developed. Proposed crawling algorithm made a progress to gather documents at high speed by extracting topic-specific Link using URL patterns. And topic fitness of Link block text has been represented by fuzzy sets which will improve a precision of the focused crawler.

Currently, the government has been established GIS DB related to river as a part of the river map digitization projects such as RIMGIS and flood map. This study was aimed to demonstrate the generation of thematic maps related to river space and their management system, the one of the major river thematic maps proposed from the precedent study "Establishment of River Thematic Map Project" in an effort to maximize the utilization of river related database, the major product of the project for digitization of river maps. This study includes amending database model for building river thematic maps. Also, metadata were amended and built for efficient management and distribution of the river related data based on the national standard metadata proposed from "Establishing Standard Metadata" sponsored by National Geography Institute in 2003 for more effective management of river thematic maps. In addition, this study analyzed the method for utilizing existing data from RIMGIS and WAMIS as well as digital topographic maps to produce 25 river thematic maps in accordance of defined building procedure. Management system of the river thematic maps for Kyungan watershed has been generated for effective managing river thematic maps based on the design and pilot generation of river thematic maps, and metadata management function has been added into the management system.

This study selected Korea and China-related subject headings among all names contained in Japan 2008 Version of NDLSH, and compared and analyzed the number of headings and the features according to each theme. As the result of analysis, the total number of Korea-related subject headings is 222 including its headings and referent words. At comparing with China-related subject headings, the number of Korea-related subject headings was very small size, and shows many limits in terms of the variety or the specificity of themes. Especially, the facts that 'Joseon', which is not existed any longer, is used as Korea's nation name, or that Balhae's history is assigned into Chinese history are required to be corrected quickly. Meanwhile, in the China-related subject headings field, multi-racial nation's features are reflected. and are contained many theme names like ancient racial names, each minority's residental area name and its native language which are rarely appeared in Korean theme names field.

The objective of this study is to explore the strategies to promote the use of the subject guide for Korean modern literature. To meet this objective this study conducted a survey on users' awareness of the subject guide service and sought out experts' opinions to identify the strategies to promote and improve the subject guide for Korean modern literature. The study proposes the following strategies: 1) Conduct promotional activities utilizing a variety of social media; 2) provide education for the user to enhance understanding of the utility of the subject guide; 3) build a website dedicated to the subject guide service for Korean modern literature; 4) provide an efficient subject-specific bibliography service by improving the quality of the subject guide, by offering full texts, ongoing content updates, and coordination with other institutions and agencies; and 5) tailor the service to user characteristics such as gender, age, occupation, and education level. Suggestions for future directions include research on the collaborative system, additional specific promotional strategies to promote the use of the subject guide, and development of evaluation indicators of the subject guide for Korean modern literature.

As topics of researchers become diverse horizontally or vertically, academic libraries have difficulties to identify the dynamic change of researchers' needs for academic publications. This research aims to illustrate the topic areas of researchers in a department of university by analyzing bibliographies of their publications. First, researchers' publications were used to discover the topic areas where the researchers had published. Second, the cited publications in those papers were analysed to identify the expanded topic areas of these researchers. Finally, highly cited journals were analyzed by network analysis method. The major finding is that the importance of topic areas by the number of journals was not necessarily proportional to that by the number of papers. Researchers have a tendency to use many papers in a small number of journals in a certain topic area. Furthermore, the importance of topic areas discovered by researchers' publications was not the same as that discovered by researchers' citations.

Since sentences are the basic propositional units of text, their themes would be helpful for various tasks that require knowledge about the semantic content of text. Despite the importance of determining the theme of a sentence, however, few studies have investigated the problem of automatically assigning the theme to a sentence. Therefore, we propose a sentence theme allocation scheme based on the head-driven patterns of sentences in encyclopedia. In a serious of experiments using Dusan Dong-A encyclopedia, the proposed method outperformed the baseline of the theme allocation performance. The head-driven pattern 4, which is reconfigured based on the predicate, showed superior performance in the theme allocation with the average F-score of $98.96\%$ for the training data, and $88.57\%$ for the test data.

In order to satisfy the high expectations of consumers for a variety of consumer's desired subject area, information could be provided in the form of a map according to the analysis information. With the name change in 2015, LX would intend to play a role in building the information infrastructure that can be supported government policy as an intermediary between the government and private sector. Therefore, in this study, we would like to propose a plan that provide personalized information to the consumer. Through compositing a variety of time-series data(inner or outer of LX) based on public information, and analyzing spatially and temporally the rapidly changing land status. For these purpose, prior research and domestic or abroad thematic map service about thematic map making were reviewed. And the reason why the LX makes information map was presented. Also, themes of 3 field were selected, and depending on the data processing or analysis level and theme were subdivided, and then production and expression method were proposed.

This study develops a methodology for facet-based subject headings for the subject access to oral history records collected by such a project of the knit business in Haebangchon. First, the concept and characteristics of oral history records and their contents were investigated, and the meaning of facets and subject headings applied to such content was examined in the literature review. Second, the basic facets of oral history records were created based on 5W1H that reflected the narrative feature of oral history. Third, 540 subject-related terms were selected through an analysis of the transcript written based on oral history interviews with one interviewer and seven interviewees linked to the knit business in Haebangchon. Fourth and last, subject headings were proposed with the selected subject-related terms categorized in facets with various relationships. These facet-based subject headings will improve the subject access and use of oral history records.

대용량 석탄화력발전소는 크게 보일러와 터빈으로 구성되며 이를 제어하기 위한 보일러 주제어기와 터빈 주제어기가 있다. 국내 대용량 석탄화력발전소에서는 외국 분산제어설비제작사의 제어 알고리즘을 사용하고 있는데 본 논문에서는 국내기술로 개발하고 있는 전체 알고리즘 중에서 터빈 주제어기 생성에 대해 간략히 기술하였다. 터빈 주제어기 알고리즘은 보일러 주제어기가 보일러 압력을 제어하는 동안 보일러 주제어기와 협조하여 발전기 출력을 제어한다. 이번에 개발하는 알고리즘은 국내기술로 개발 중인 분산제어시스템에 장착하여 신뢰성을 검증한 후 실제로 운용 중인 발전소에 설치할 계획이다.
