The Effects of Individual Characteristics, School Factors, and Community Factors on Adolescents School Violence Behavior -A multilevel analysis- (청소년의 학교폭력 가해행동에 영향을 미치는 요인 -다층모형 분석-)

  • This study investigated the effects of individual characteristics, school factors, and community factors on adolescent school violence behaviors. Data from a total of 1,777 middle school students from 50 schools in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions were used for analysis. A hierarchical generalized linear modeling was employed to conduct a two-level analysis. Results showed that adolescents' individual factors, including attitudes toward violence, parental attachment, child abuse experiences, and affiliation with delinquent peers, as well as school factors including teacher's abusive classroom discipline, affected adolescent school violence behaviors. In addition, neighborhood disorder was found to be significantly positively correlated with adolescents' school violence. The results of this study suggest that for an understanding of school violence and to prepare countermeasures accordingly, integrated consideration of various environmental contexts in adolescents' daily lives, such as family, school, and community environments, is necessary. A multidimensional, integrated intervention plan to effectively resolve school violence based on these research results is discussed.

An analytic Study on the number of Students in elementary School for the profer School Policy Establishment in Korea (적정규모 학교 정책 수립을 위한 초등학교 재학생수 기초 조사 연구)

  • The results of the survey on the number of students enrolled in 1,337 elementary schools in the 29 provinces nationwide are as follows. First, in the first Newtowns, the number of enrolled students is 601~750. In particular, 4 small schools (4.2%) showed 300 small sized schools. Second, the number of schools in the metropolitan area is 451~750, and the number of schools under 300 students is 16, accounting for 5.6% of the total. Third, the Chungcheong Province is the largest in the 751~900 people, but relatively fewer than 150 students account for more than 13% of the total. Fourth, Yeongnam region has the largest number of enrolled students in the 301 ~ 450 classrooms, and the number of schools with 150 under 50 schools is 300 and the number of under schools is 118 with 24.3%. Fifth, Honam area is the most in 601 ~ 750 people, but the number of schools under 150 students is 27 and the number of under 300 schools is 23.5%. In particular, small schools in Yeongnam region and Honam area are more than twice as high as other areas. Additional follow-up studies are needed for other cities.

  • School libraries are one of the essential parts for high quality education. The Seventh Educational Cumiculum emphasizes the development of creative and autonomous students who can solve problems in a self-directed way. The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development come into forcing the installation of school digital library since 2001. Also, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development has presented the Master Plan of School's Activation in July 2002. In this situation, the research and discussion on effective model of school digital library are very important. Thus, This study aims to design a model of school digital library differentiated School's sizes depending on primary and secondary school's current status. This study is proposed 4 facility model of school digital library based differentiated school's sizes and designed A-type, B-Type model on individual model.

  • Recent developments and integration of IT are expanding the possibility of various instructional learning methods in education environments. Contemporary learning theory such as open education, self-directed learning, student's centered learning describes the students as an active and engaged information user and underscores the importance of information literacy. Therefore, school library today focus on the process of learning-teaching process rather than dissemination information, and emphasized the focus of the school electronic library as information center. The purpose of this study is examined physical components of School Electronic Library, design a model of information system and suggests a strategy for implementing teaching-learning process support services based on school electronic library and information system.

  • The level of mathematics study of students may vary depending on the area or contents of school mathematics. The use of Integrated evaluation frame is beneficial for evaluating and utilizing the study situation of mathematics study. In this article, I formulated evaluation table for evaluation by type and by question based on the contents of 'equation of the first degree' and examined mathematics teaching through integrated evaluation based on the two evaluations. It was concluded from this study that the evaluation table I formulated was beneficial for individual mathematic teaching by providing information about the study situation of each student.

  • 우리나라는 수도권지역에 인구 밀집도가 OECD 국가 중 가장 높은 나라이다. 상황이 이러한 만큼 수도권지역의 사람들은 대중교통을 이용한 출퇴근이나 등교에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있으며, 이를 돕고자 대중교통에 관련된 많은 어플리케이션이 출시되어 있다. 하지만 대부분의 대중교통과 관련된 어플리케이션의 경우 정적인 시간표를 알려주는 어플리케이션이고, 좀 더 나아가 발전한 어플리케이션의 경우에도 사용자의 수동적인 환경에서만 알림이나 실시간 등의 기능을 제공해주고 있어, 많은 사람들이 그러한 기능이 있는지조차 모르고 사용 중인 이용자가 대부분이다. 본 연구에서는 현 시간상황에 맞는 대중교통 정보를 제공해주고, 알림기능으로 사용자에게 능동적인 계획을 구성해주는 것은 물론 지하철과 버스 그리고 대중교통이 아닌 도보의 상황까지 판단하여 종합적인 정보제공을 해주는 시스템을 제안한다.

  • In this study, we applied a hierarchial linear model to Anyang city data because students and their schools are hierarchial data structure. As a result, main factors which affect parents' satisfaction to school which their children go to are parents' satisfaction to Anyang city's education policies and areas which their schools located at. We suggest based on the analysis by this hierarchial linear model that if Anyang city make educational policies more efficient and effective in order for students to study in public school without private education and if Anyang city improve environment related with school like those of new cities, parents' satisfaction to school which their children go to will be increased.

Information Needs and Information Seeking Behaviors of Students in the Science School for Gifted (과학영재학교 학생들의 정보요구 및 정보이용행태에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to analyze students' information needs and information-seeking behavior at science schools for gifted through in-depth interviews. The research design was conducted based on previous studies. Through in-depth interviews, this study examined ten students from six out of eight science schools for the gifted in Korea for information needs and overall information-seeking behavior. The results showed the information needs of students at science schools for gifted in the areas of curricular and extracurricular activities as well as the information-seeking behavior in teaching, learning, and research activities, which were the main topics of interest to students based on the ISP model. Based on these results, we identified the preferred information sources in the information-seeking process and discussed the peculiarities and implications of students' information-seeking behavior. The research is meaningful as it can be used as a basis for further research on the science school for gifted library and as a resource for providing services for students with deep interests and talents in science subject areas.
