  • This study analyzed the relationship between communication perception and job performance in general hospital nurses in order to provide basic data for efficient personnel and hospital management. For this purposes, data were collected from August 5 to 23, 2019, targeting 392 nurses from 14 general hospitals in Gwangju and Jeonnam and t-test, variance analysis, post hoc analysis, Correlations analysis and multi-regression analysis were conducted. In analyzing the differences between demographical and health characteristics and job performance, there were statistically significant differences in age, working years, salary, satisfaction, locations, health status, health education, chronic diseases and depression. In respect to communication perception and job performance of nurses, age of 30 and job satisfaction (moderate satisfaction and dissatisfaction) had a negative effect, locations had a positive effect, and horizontal communication had the greatest effect on job performance. There was a relation between downward, informal and upward communication and job performance, and the determination coefficient was 45.2%. Based on these results, this study suggested that for higher job performance, we should improve working environment, enhance job satisfaction, organize nursing organization culture with active horizontal, downward, informal and upward communication and develop an efficient personnel management system.

  • This study aimed to explore predictors of terminal care stress of nurses. Participants were 197 nurses from a C university hospital in J city. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. On hierarchial multiple regression, dignified dying attitude, turnover intention, well dying attitude, and spirituality explained 39.6% of variance in terminal care stress. The results suggest that dignified dying attitude, well dying attitude, spirituality need to be properly assessed and managed to reduce terminal care stress of nurses.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing nursing performance of nurses in general hospitals. The participants were 251 nurses working in general hospitals in B city. SPSS/WIN 23.0 was used for analysis with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression. The result of the multiple regression indicates self-leadership(${\beta}=.43$, p<.001), total clinical career(${\beta}=.26$, p<.001), job satisfaction(${\beta}=.14$, p=.010), and annual self-development activity count(${\beta}=.10$, p=.049) were associated with nursing performance. These factors accounted for 38.5% of the total variance in nursing performance. Considering the results of this study, multi-dimensional programs to improve self-leadership and job satisfaction should be developed and implemented in order to foster nursing performance in clinical practice.

  • The purposed of this study was to identify the factors that affect turnover intention in general hospital nurses. The study subjects were 110 general hospital nurses agreed to participate and understand the purpose of the study. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The mean score of emotional intelligence was 3.51 points, and the mean score of job embeddedness was 3.09 points, and the mean score of turnover intention was 3.61 points. Emotional intelligence and turnover intention had a negative correlation, job embeddedness and turnover intention had a negative correlation and emotional intelligence and job embeddedness had positive correlation. The factor with the largest effect on turnover intention was job embeddedness (${\beta}$=-.298, p<.001). The explanatory power of job embeddedness on turnover intention was 21.0%. Therefore, we propose the implementation of a study to develop and apply nursing intervention programs to improve job embeddedness.

The data were collected from 188 nurses working at a general hospital from $1^{st}-30^{th}$ September 2017. The research tools were the resilience, organizational culture, and well-being. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The result showed that the difference in well-being relating to general characteristics were significant age, marital status, position, and career. It was found that resilience, organizational culture, and well-being were all significantly correlated, and that the factors affecting well-being included resilience, task-oriented cultures, relation-oriented cultures, and marital status. There is a need for a strategy to enhance nurses' resilience and aid in the development of a sound organizational culture that could help them effectively adapt to changes. This will not only improve nurses' health but also have a positive impact on patients and nursing organizations.

  • This study intends to investigate the organizational commitment and Its related factors among medium hospital of nurses. The collected data were analyzed descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 19.0 Program. The score of level of organizational commitment was statistically significant difference according to working period, marital state, monthly income, personality, night-duty. The score of organizational commitment level correlated positively with job satisfaction and burnout. Stepwise multiple regression analysis for organizational commitment level revealed that the most powerful predictor was burnout, job satisfaction and night-duty explained 49.5% of the variance. Therefore, It suggested that goal of increasing nurses' organizational commitment in hospital should be helped them raise job satisfaction and decrease nurses' burnout and night duty.

  • This study constructed a prediction model based on covariance structure to identify the causal relationship between job stress, fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction on turnover intention in nurses working in general hospitals. The study subjects were 648 nurses at a general hospital in D city. Data collection was surveyed by using self-administered questionnaires structured during the period from November 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016. As a result, the level of turnover intention was significantly higher in the group showing higher job stress, fatigue, and burnout and significantly higher in the group showing lower job satisfaction. The turnover intention of subjects showed a significant positive correlation with job stress, fatigue, and burnout but showed a negative correlation with job satisfaction. As a result of covariance structure analysis, job stress had greater influence on turnover intention than fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction. Higher job stress, fatigue, and burnout and lower job satisfaction were associated with increased turnover intention. The results of this study show that the turnover intention of general hospital nurses is significantly related to job stress, fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction. In particular, job stress had a greater effect on turnover than fatigue, burnout, and job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to lower the turnover intention of general hospital nurses, it is necessary to seek ways to mitigate job stress.

  • This study examined the influence of patient safety culture and safety care activities of general hospital nurses. The participants were 178 nurses working in a hospital in D and G cities. Data were collected from June to July, 2015 through Questionnaires that included the Measure of Patient Safety Culture by Kim et al.(2007), and the Measure of Safety Care Activities by Lee(2009). The collected data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise Multiple regression. A statistically significant positive relationship was observed between the nurses perception of the patient safety culture and their safety care activities (r=.407, p<.001). The findings show the patient safety culture accounted for 43.3% of the variance in the safety care activities for hospital nurses followed by the importance of hospital work environment among nurses to improve the safety care activities. These findings highlight the need to develop effective programs to improve the perception of patient safety culture and safety nursing guideline.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate an effect of resilience of clinical nurses on their job stress and burnout. A convenience sample of 166 subjects were recruited from one general hospital. The mean score of resilience, job stress, burnout were 2.48, 4.00, and 2.98 respectively. The relation between resilience and burnout was effected with the negative correlation. The explanation power of resilience of clinical nurses on burnout was 24.8%. In conclusion, we found that resilience decreased clinical nurse's burnout. From this result, we suggest resilience improvement programs for clinical nurses will be developed and implemented.

With respect to job satisfaction, the correlations were .325 (p<.001) for professional self-concept and .212 (p=.008) for self-efficacy. As integrate of the study result showed job satisfaction had correlation to professional self- concept and self-efficacy. The regression model explained 12.6% of job satisfaction.
