  • The purpose of this study is empirically to analyze the mediated effects of job stress on the influence of positive psychological capital of care workers' enthusiasm. The research method was self_report questionnaire was completed by 383 careworkers at care homes for the elderly in the Seoul metropolitan area between December 10th, 2018 to January 11th, 2019. and date analyzed using the IBM AMOS 22.0 program. As a result, First, positive psychology capital has been shown to have a negative effect on job stress. Second, positive psychology capital has been shown to have a positive effect on the enthusiasm of care workers. Third, job stress has been shown to have a negative effect on the enthusiasm of care workers. Fourth, in the relationship between positive psychology capital and care worker's enthusiasm, job stress revealed that it had a partial mediated effect. This means that positive psychological capital of the care workers has a negative effect on job stress, and the job stress, which has been negatively effected by positive psychological capital, has a positive mediated effect on the enthusiasm of the worker.

  • This study sought to understand the mediating effect of job enthusiasm in relation to work-life balance and job performance of hospital workers. The data collected through a self-contained survey using structured questionnaires for employees of medical institutions in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and Process Macro programs. As a result of the analysis, job performance and non-role performance were the most influenced by passion (+), and work-life balance was evaluated as a factor that increased job enthusiasm. In addition, work-life balance directly influenced job performance, but indirectly influenced job performance as a medium. In particular, the work-life balance and the relationship between performance other than roles were fully mediated. In order to improve the job performance of hospital workers at the organizational level, it is necessary to increase job enthusiasm, which means that efforts are needed to establish an organizational culture that values work-life balance.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the general characteristics, working condition, discrimination experience and job engagement of office workers and to examine the effect of discrimination experience on job engagement. This study was the secondary analysis of date from the fifth Korean Working Conditions Survey and the subjects included 6,718 office workers. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, x2-test, t-test, and complex samples general linear model(CSGLM). As a result, job engagement was high when they never experienced discrimination. Based on the results of this study, in order to improve job engagement of office workers, manage to prevent discrimination in the workplace should be included.

  • This study investigates the effect of work environment-in terms of job demands and job resources-on worker job engagement and burnout based on the JD-R model. The aim is to provide preliminary data to formulate policy and practical measures to strengthen job engagement and prevent burnout of workers at a community children's center. To this end, a self-administered questionnaire was answered by 447 workers at such a center in the city of Daejeon, Korea, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. The research model had a statistically acceptable fit, with CFI = .900, TLI = .887, and RMSEA = .077. The following correlations were found among the key variables: i) a greater perceived amount of job resources led to a stronger worker job engagement but did not directly influence worker burnout; ii) more perceived job demands caused a higher worker burnout but did not directly influence worker job engagement; and iii) the greater the worker job engagement, the less burned out the workers were. These conclusions contribute to understanding the effect of the work environment on worker job engagement and burnout based on the JD-R model. We emphasize the need to improve this environment in community children's centers with supportive policy and practical measures to enhance worker job engagement and reduce burnout.

  • The aim of this study is to look into the role stress, job insecurity, self-efficacy and job engagement among broadcasting staffs. It is the ultimate goal for this study to probe how their job engagement affected by three factors - role stress, job insecurity, self-efficacy. 343 respondents participated and the results show they are suffering for the role stress, especially role conflict. Their awareness of the self-efficacy and job engagement is above average, meanwhile of job insecurity is comparably low. It is revealed that the less role ambiguity and the more self-efficacy affect their job engagement and the most influential factor is self-efficacy.

  • The present study was conducted to test the mediating effects of work engagement in the relationship between issue leadership and innovative behavior. Specifically, the purpose of this study was to empirically test the impact of issue leadership on employees' innovative behavior, and to investigate the mediating effect of work engagement in the relationship between issue leadership and innovative behavior. The data was collected from 218 employees who are currently working at large hotels located in Seoul and Jeju. The results of this study show that issue leadership is positively associated with work engagement and innovative behavior, and that issue leadership is a crucial factor to facilitate employees' positive attitudes toward voluntary change-oriented behavior. In addition, work engagement partially mediated the relationship between issue leadership and innovative behavior. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of the study results have been discussed along with limitations and future direction of the study.

  • Purpose: Unlike the existing linear accelerator with photon, proton therapy produces a number of second radiation due to the kinds of nuclide including neutron that is produced from the interaction with matter, and more attention must be paid on the exposure level of radiation workers for this reason. Therefore, thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD) that is being widely used to measure radiation was utilized to analyze the exposure level of the radiation workers and propose a basic data about the radiation exposure level during the proton therapy. Materials and Methods: The subjects were radiation workers who worked at the proton therapy center of National Cancer Center and TLD Badge was used to compare the measured data of exposure level. In order to check the dispersion of exposure dose on body parts from the second radiation coming out surrounding the beam line of proton, TLD (width and length: 3 mm each) was attached to on the body spots (lateral canthi, neck, nipples, umbilicus, back, wrists) and retained them for 8 working hours, and the average data was obtained after measuring them for 80 hours. Moreover, in order to look into the dispersion of spatial exposure in the treatment room, TLD was attached on the snout, PPS (Patient Positioning System), Pendant, block closet, DIPS (Digital Image Positioning System), Console, doors and measured its exposure dose level during the working hours per day. Results: As a result of measuring exposure level of TLD Badge of radiation workers, quarterly average was 0.174 mSv, yearly average was 0.543 mSv, and after measuring the exposure level of body spots, it showed that the highest exposed body spot was neck and the lowest exposed body spot was back (the middle point of a line connecting both scapula superior angles). Investigation into the spatial exposure according to the workers' movement revealed that the exposure level was highest near the snout and as the distance becomes distant, it went lower. Conclusion: Even a small amount of exposure will eventually increase cumulative dose and exposure dose on a specific body part can bring health risks if one works in a same location for a long period. Therefore, radiation workers must thoroughly manage exposure dose and try their best to minimize it according to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) as the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) recommends.

  • This study was intended to verify the parameter effects of empowerment in the effect of social support of the employees of youth training facilities on the quality of service. The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for improving the service quality of youth training facility workers. As a result of this study, first, social support and empowerment had a positive effect on service quality. Second, the partial mediating effect of empowerment can be confirmed. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions were made. First, for the social support of the employees, the middle managers and facility managers of youth training facilities should use the Internet environment such as the Internet and smart phones. Second, in order to improve empowerment, support for information related to work, material support related to compensation, and evaluation support related to business processing should be provided. Third, to improve the empowerment of workers, it is necessary to augmented reality(AR), virtual reality(VR), and flip learning program using the Internet of Things environment.
