Rapid Thermal Annealing for Ag Layers on SiO2 Coated Metal Foils (이산화규소 증착된 스테인레스 기판위에 형성된 은 금속 박막의 급속 열처리에 대한 효과)

  • This study examined the effects of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the physical and chemical characteristics of thin silver (Ag) layers on SiO2 coated metal foils. Ag layers were annealed at various temperatures of the range between 150 ℃ and 550 ℃ for 20 min. The surface roughness and resistivity are increased at the annealing temperatures of 550 ℃. We also found that oxygen (O) and silicon (Si) atoms exist at the Ag film surface by using compositional analysis in the annealing temperatures of 550 ℃. The total reflectance is decreased with increasing temperature. These phenomena are due to an out-diffusion of Si atoms from SiO2 layers during the RTA annealing. The results offer the possibility of using it as a substrate for various flexible optoelectronic devices.

Study and Effects of Bone Conducted Signal on the Implantable Microphone (골전도를 통한 생체신호가 이식형 마이크로폰에 미치는 영향 및 고찰)

  • The fully implantable hearing devices (FIHDs) have been studied to compensate the defect of conventional hearing aids. Typically, a microphone for FIHDs was implanted under the skin of the temporal bone. So, implantable microphone characteristics can be affected by the eating food, chattering teeth and moving artifact. In this paper, we fabricated the physical model that was similar to characteristics of human temporal bone and skin, and we measured implanted microphone sensitivity for effect of bone conducted noise signal. For the measurement of microphone sensitivity, we applied 1 kHz pure sounds that were transmitted to implanted microphone and sine wave vibrations of varied frequency were simultaneously transmitted through the artificial bone. As a result, sensitivity of implanted microphone can be modified by bone conducted signal and this phenomenon was confirmed at varied frequency band.

  • We designed Average Current Control PFC IC which has make the average value of boost inductor current became the shape of sine wave. Designed IC has fixed frequency of 75kHz to meet EMI standard requirement. And also RC compensation loop has been designed into the error amp and the current amp, in order that it has wide bandwidth for high speed control. And we use the oscillator which generates by square wave and triangle wave, and add to UVLO, OVP, OCP, TSD which is in order to operate stability. We simulated by using Spectre of Cadence to verify the unity power factor function and various protection circuits and fabricated in a $1{\mu}m$ High Voltage(20V) CMOS process.

  • The vibration characteristics of railway vehicles are very complex because they are not only dependent on vehicle and track conditions but also on operating conditions. Vibration can cause the failure of rolling stock equipment. To verify that the quality of rolling stock equipment is acceptable, it should be able to withstand vibration tests of reasonable magnitude and duration. There are many standards for vibration and shock tests of equipment in Korea. In this paper, we have reviewed and compared the standards (KS R 9144, R 9146 and IEC 61373) for vibration and shock tests.

  • In this paper. we describe a 32-channel bioimpedance measurement system It consists of 32 independent constant current sources of 50 kHz sinusoid. The amplitude of each current source can be adjusted using a 12-bit MDAC. After we applied a pattern of injection currents through 32 current injection electrodes. we measured induced boundary voltages using a variable-gain narrow-band instrumentation amplifier. a Phase-sensitive demodulator. and a 12-bit ADC. The system is interfaced to a PC for the control and data acquisition. We used the system to detect anomalies with different resistivity values in a saline Phantom with 290mm diameter The accuracy of the developed system was estimated as 2.42% and we found that anomalies larger than 8mm in diameter can be detected. We Plan to improve the accuracy by using a digital oscillator improved current sources by feedback control, Phase-sensitive A/D conversion. etc. to detect anomalies smaller than 1mm in diameter.

  • In this paper, inverter type neon power supply using a piezoelectric transformer is fabricated and its characteristic is investigated. Developed neon power supply is composed of basic circuit and blocks, such as rectifier part, frequency oscillation part and piezoelectric transformer and resonant half bridge inverters. In this paper for complement the low power limitation, piezoelectric transformer at parallel connected driving by inverter is studied for noon tubes system of high power. When piezoelectric transformer is connected with parallel, LC filter connection method with parallel and selection of inductance L and capacitor C of primary side is suggested for reduce unbalanced current at the terminal of each transformer. Piezoelectric transformers use piezoelectric ceramic devices. Thus it is wireless therefore it has high power density, high Isolation level, low loss, more light, and miniaturization. In addition, high voltage transfer ratio is expected because there is no leakage inductance. Also, it has economic merit that the electrical loss Is low because structure is simple, small and tighter weight.

  • In this paper, an improved drive method of piezoelectric PZT stack actuator for micro-positioning system is proposed and the performances are evaluated. This type of amplifier is based on switching technology efficiently handling the arbitrary regenerative energy from the piezoelectric actuator. The conventional voltage-feedback control method has the THD of -32dB (${\approx}2.5%$) with 100mHz sinusoidal reference, which means that the positioning performance in linearity degrades due to the hysteretic relationship between actuator voltage and the displacement. This paper proposed an improved charge-controlling method, which utilizes differential information of charge reference instead of integrating the actuator's current. The current waveform has THD under -40dBV (=1%) and the displacement waveform nearly -52dB (${\approx}0.25%$), which means that the positioning performance is very excellent. Finally, another method of the displacement feedback control has better performance than the voltage method, however there exists a limitation in performance of the system.

  • This paper is the study on random, sinusoidal and shock vibration responses for the STSAT-3(science and technology satellite-3) proto-model which is the first small size all-composite satellite in Korea. The structure system of the STSAT-3 forms box type structure by joining several hybrid sandwich panels comprised of honeycomb core and carbon fiber reinforced laminated composite skins on both side. Mode shape, stress, displacement and acceleration responses are obtained on both the frequency domain and time domain by means of a commercial FEA software MSC/NASTRAN. From these analysis results, failure, safety factor and design validity are assessed. These results can be successfully applicable as reference data when a new satellite is developed as well as giving out an excellent criteria in satellite vibration treatment design.

  • This paper proposes a new active common-mode voltage damper circuit that is capable of suppressing a common-mode voltage produced in the PWM VSI-fed induction motor drives. The new active common mode voltage damper is consists of a four-level half-bridge Inverter and a common mode transformer with a blocking capacitor. In order to reduce the common mode voltage and high frequency leakage current the active common mode damper applies to the PWM inverter system the compensated voltage of which the amplitude is the same as the common mode voltage and of which the polarity is opposite to the common mode voltage. Simulated using P-SPICE and experimental results show that common-mode voltage damper makes contributions to reducing a high frequency leakage current and common-mode voltage.

  • This paper introduces the mechanical design, fabrication, and control of a biomimetic fish robot whose driving motions resemble a real fish's flexibility and movement. This robot uses two motors create flexible movement like that of a fish. Several schemes, such as neutral buoyancy, fast underwater swimming, and direction changes, are introduced. The tail of the fish robot is made of a polymer material for flexible movement. The interior of the tail contains a joint and a wire. A sine wave command was applied to the tail to produce motion resembling a real fish swimming, and a buoy control device was installed. The up and down motion of the robot fish was controlled using this device.
