The purpose of this study was to develop a Science Academic Emotion Scale for Elementary Students. To make a scale, authors extract a core of 14 emotions related to science learning situations from Kim & Kim (2013) and literature review. Items on the scale consisted of 14 emotions and science learning situations. The first preliminary scale had 174 items on it. The number of 174 items was reduced and elaborated on by three science educators. Authors verified the scale using exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, inter-item consistency and concurrent validity. The second preliminary scale consisted of 141 items. The preliminary scale was reduced to seven factors and 56 items by applying exploratory factor analysis twice. The seven factors include: enjoyment contentment interest, boredom, shame, discontent, anger, anxiety, and laziness. The 56 items were elaborated on by five science educators. The scale with 56 items was fixed with seven factors and 35 items to get the final scale by applying confirmatory factor analysis twice. Except for Chi-square and GFI (Goodness of Fit Index), other various goodness of fit characteristics of the seven factors and 35 items model showed good estimated figures. The Cronbach of the scale was 0.85. The Cronbach of seven factors are 0.95 in enjoyment contentment interest, 0.81 in boredom, 0.87 in shame, 0.82 in discontent, 0.87 in anger, 0.77 in anxiety, 0.81 in laziness. The correlation coefficient was 0.59 in enjoyment contentment interest, 0.54 in anxiety, 0.42 in shame, and 0.28 in boredom, which were estimated using the Science Academic Emotion Scale and National Assessment System of Science-Related Affective Domain (Kim et al., 1998). Based on the results, authors judged that the Science Academic Emotion Scale for Elementary Students achieved an acceptable validity and reliability.

The purpose of this study was to establish an intervention strategy for nursing students' empathic ability enhancement by confirming the degree of empathy ability of nursing students to confirm the relationship between empathy ability and diversity acceptance, emotion recognition clarity, and other person' s recognition. The subjects were 173 nursing students. Data were collected as a self-report questionnaire consisting of general characteristics, diversity acceptability, emotional clarity, other-awareness, and empathy. We carried out t-test, ANOVA, Scheff's test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using IBM SPSS Statistics 19. The results show that there was a significant difference in empathy ability according to the general characteristics of the subjects according to academic year and practice experience, and empathy was statistically significant according to academic year, diversity acceptability, emotional clarity, and other-awareness. Factors influencing empathy ability of nursing students were academic year, diversity acceptability, emotional clarity and other-awareness, and these variables explained empathy ability as 51.9%. In order to improve empathy ability of nursing students based on these results, we should adopt a nursing education program that can accept subjects with various backgrounds and clearly recognize emotions in a therapeutic setting.
This study examined the effects of interpersonal relationship harmony and stress coping on the college adjustment among nursing students. The participants were 231. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Adjustment to college life significantly correlated with interpersonal relationship harmony and stress coping style. Interpersonal relationship harmony was significantly different according to year, satisfaction with nursing as a major, and academic achievement. Multiple regression analysis showed that interpersonal relationship harmony and stress coping(problem-focused, emotion-focused, hopeful thought) explained 23% of variance in adjustment to college life. The study findings suggest that intervention intended to promote nursing students' adjustment to college life should focus on improving interpersonal relationship harmony and stress coping.
This study aimed to investigate subtypes, risk factors, symptoms and the interventions to inpatients with delirium. The data of 108 inpatients who had the diagnosis of delirium during their hospital stay were collected from Electronic Medical Record at a university hospital and were analyzed by SPSS for Windows V. 26.0 program. As a results, Patients had a high proportion of elderly, male, orthopedic, and with fractures or amputations. The subtypes of delirium were hyperactive (51.9%), hypoactive (6.5%), and mixed (41.7%). Among the risk factors, depression and use of psychotropic agent were more common in those with hypoactive delirium. Among delirium interventions, behavioral symptom management and aggressive behavioral intervention were mainly implemented for those with hyperactive or mixed types, and emotional support was mainly implemented for those with hypoactive or mixed types. The delirium related intervention was more likely given immediately when the patients showed aggressive behaviors. Therefore, intervention strategies and protocol development are required for early detection of delirium in inpatients.
In this study, 284 families of people with developmental disabilities responded to a survey about the importance of family support services and their recognition level of satisfaction. First, there was a statistically significant difference in the level of importance-satisfaction recognition of family support services for the people with developmental disabilities. Second, the recognition level of the importance of family support services of the people with developmental disabilities was in the order of support for parenting, support for physical and material wellbeing, support for family interaction. Third, satisfaction of family support services of the people with developmental disabilities was in the order of support for parenting activities, support for family interaction, support for emotional wellbeing. Fourth, we proposed the maintenance of the status quo, improvement efforts, and the need for mid-and long-term strategy by analyzing the characteristics of the importance-satisfaction quadrant. The results of this study are expected to be useful as basic data for improvement of family support services for the people with developmental disabilities.

This study examined whether the integrated education science and resource e-book developed for students with disabilities were properly implemented in terms of universal design for learning. For analysis, "Teaching and learning materials for inclusive education of students with disabilities: grade 3~6 sciences", which were instructional adaptation, were selected for students with disabilities who are unable to learn the contents of general textbooks for the 3rd to 6th grade of the elementary school science course in the 2015 revised curriculum. The science grades are composed of 40 units, including basic science inquiry, matter, life, kinetic and energy, earth and universe. The content analysis standard was based on detailed items of 9 definitions according to the 3 principles of UDL presented in CAST (2018). As a result of the study, the strategy network was the largest among the UDL principles. As for the domain of the science curriculum, the kinetic and energy was the most common. As UDL detailed items, informations presentation suitable for learners was most frequent in cognitive network. Various ways of searching for data, was most frequent in strategies network. Diverse materials optimized difficulty of contents was most frequent in affective network.
Products can maintain a high level of market share for many years by succeeding early in the development of a market. To overcome the benefit of pioneering a market, late entrants to the market can use differentiation strategies: developing novel attributes or enhancing preexisted attributes. In general, preexisted attributes are more memorable, but novel attributes can be weighted as heavily as preexisted attributes by contextual constraints. Based on the research of appraisal-congruent judgement, certainty appraisal dimension may affect the degree to which people engage in systematic or heuristic processing. This study examines the effects of alignability (the ease with which the attributes of one object can be aligned or mapped onto another object) of product attributes and certainty on consumer preferences for late entrants. Participants were induced to experience certainty and then completed a questionnaire. As predicted, participants induced certainty were likely to engage in heuristic processing, while participants induced uncertainty were likely to engage in systematic processing. This study provides an implication that companies should additionally consider consumers' feeling of certainty when launching a new brand.
