  • In this paper, we obtained PFME(probability for maximum entropy) and entropy when a conditional probability was given in a binary list order Markov Information Source. And, when steady state probability was constant, the influence of change of a conditional probability on entropy was examined, too.

On Larger Rate Volume of non-SIC NOMA over SIC NOMA for 3-user Correlated Information Sources (삼중 상관 정보원에서 SIC 대한 non-SIC 비직교 다중 접속의 확장 전송률 용적에 관해)

  • This paper investigates the achievable rate volumes for non-successive interference cancellation(SIC) non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) schemes, especially for 3-user correlated information sources(CIS). First, the closed-form expressions for the achievable rate volumes of non-SIC 3-user CIS NOMA are derived. Then it is numerically shown that the large correlation coefficients, as the achievable rate volumes of non-SIC 3-user CIS NOMA is larger than that of conventional SIC 3-user independent information sources(IIS) NOMA. We also demonstrate by various comparisons that the impact of the correlation coefficients of weaker channel gain users on achievable rate volume is more significant than those of stronger channel gain users.

The influence of health information source credibility and e health literacy on health information orientation of parents of local hospitalized children (일부도시 입원 아동 부모의 건강정보원에 대한 신뢰도와 전자 건강문해력이 건강정보지향에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of credibility of health information (CHI) source and e health literacy (eHL) on health information orientation (HIO) of parents of hospitalized children. Convenience sampling method of 109 parent whose children were admitted in a children's hospital in D city was used. The hierarchial regression model with general characteristics and characteristics of children for step 1 and eHL and CHI for step 2 against HIO was statistically significant (F=8.22, p<.001). And this model could explain 40% of HIO ($R^2$=.40). Especially, eHL (${\beta}$=.54, p<.001) and CHI (${\beta}$=.21, p=.008), subjective health perception (${\beta}$=.19, p=.016), and age (${\beta}$=-0.15, p=.048) were identified the influencing factors on HIO. Based on these findings, to foster the HIO of parents of inpatient children, credible health information should be given to these population and a approach with eHL enhancement should be considered. And further research that is to explore the way to enhance the eHL should be carried out to suggest the practical application

Confidence Indicators and Evaluation Factors of Credibility According to the Types of Online Information (온라인 정보원의 유형별 신뢰지수 및 신뢰성 평가요인)

  • This study tried to develop the confidence indicators and evaluation factors of credibility according to the types of online information by nationwide large scale online survey. The main results are summarized as follows: i) confidence indicators by types of online information: information on news sites(72.553), financial companies(68.894), government sites(67.938), cafe(66.464), portal sites(65.001), collective intelligence sites(63.489), nonprofit organization (63.392), company/corporation sites(59.789), blog(59.066), online community sites(55.609), e-commerce sites(55.118), mini-homepage(50.695). ii) 'Widely known site' or 'famous site' is the most important factor for all types of online information. User opinions like as posting or comment are major factors for sites of cafe, blog, mini-homepage, online community, collective intelligence etc. and 'name recognition' and 'reputation' are main factors for site of financial company, corporation, government, nonprofit organization.

A Study on User Information Seeking Behavior of Metasearch System in the Academic Library (대학도서관 이용자의 메타서치시스템 이용행태 연구)

  • The amount of online scholarly information rapidly expands in numerous resources, while user behavior demands single search box interface like Google Scholar. Despite scholarly values of e-resources libraries provide, users consider Google Scholar as the most efficient research tool attracted by its speed, simplicity, ease of use, and convenience. Characteristics of Metasearch System compared with Google Scholar are analyzed from perspectives of the interface and e-resource. Based on usage statistics of Metasearch System along with a link resolver in one academic library, e-resource accessibility patterns and information seeking behaviors of subject-specific areas are investigated for electronic information services.
