In order to determine the effect of Korean traditional play on young children's social competence and resilience, 44 children were used in a study in the Korean traditional play program. The program was held 2 times per week for 7 weeks and was divided into control group and experimental group. The study found that there was a significant difference in children's social competence between the experimental group that executed Korean traditional play in comparison to the ordinary outside play group. There was a significant difference statistically in the sub-factors of social abilities of scrupulosity, cooperation and sociability; it found that Korean traditional play had a greater positive influence on children's social skills in contrast to ordinary outside play. Also results showed that there was a significant difference in resilience between the experimental group that executed Korean traditional play and the experimental group that executed ordinary outside play. This shows there is a positive effect in the increase in resilience from Korean traditional play on young children. However this study found that there was a significant difference in only resilience sub-factors of the ability to control emotions and there was no significant difference in the ability to control impulse, optimism, and problem solving ability, empathy skill, efficacy and active participation to challenges. In other words, Korean traditional plays had a positive effect on a sub-factor of young children's social competence and resilience, emotional control.

Objective: This research was designed to investigate how young children's musical ability and interest in Korean music and their playfulness were affected by musical play activities based on traditional children's songs. Methods: In this study, 28 five-year-old children from W childcare center in W city were divided into an experimental and a comparison group. The experimental group then took part in musical play activities based on traditional children's songs while the comparison group, even though they sang the same songs, took part in musical activities based on themes in the 'Nuri curriculum'. The average and standard deviations of the children's musical ability and interest in Korean music and their playfulness were calculated from the collected data, and ANCOVA was computed using the pre-test scores of each subject as the covariate. Results: The results showed that taking part in musical play activities based on traditional children's songs positively affected young children's musical ability and interest in Korean music and their playfulness. Conclusion/Implications: Therefore, it is suggested that such activities could be useful components for effective Korean music programs in the field of early childhood education.

The purpose of this study is to make establishing criteria for Korea traditional nursery rhyme suitable for children and apply them effectively in early child education. The researchers of this study are firstly concerned with establishing criteria for Korean traditional nursery rhymes suitable for children. Secondly, they are concerned with establishing Korean traditional nursery rhymes suitable for children which are selected by following the established criteria. A Delphi survey was performed with early childhood educators and 30 related professionals to establish criteria for Korean traditional nursery rhymes suitable for children. The SPSS 12.0 program was used to calculate the standard deviation and average. Through this process the final seven criteria selected are: 'traditional play spaces and fun of play language is showed', 'lifestyles and emotions of children in the past is expressed', 'easy to understand story', 'the content is interesting', 'assisting in the development of children', 'easy to sing melody', and 'simple and repetitive in rhythm'. And 112 songs appropriate to the children were selected based on these criteria. The lyrics of the songs mainly expressed 'the joy of play.' it means songs need to combine with play to succeed to the next generation.

This study aimed to confirm the usefulness of a "Traditional Play Program" in a self-esteem and social competency enrichment program at a Community Child Center. The subjects of this research comprised 12 children attending L Community Child Center in M city and participated in a "Traditional Play Program" for each 70minutes every week through total 10 sessions running from July 28th to September 29th in 2014. The collected data were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney & Wilcoxon test as non-parametric test, in addition to the progressive recording method for behavior observation. The results of this study indicate that a "Traditional Play Program" enriches the self-esteem and social competence of children who gets more vigorous activity sociality initiative respectively, and proves the usefulness for a Community Child Center.

The purpose of this study is to develop education programs for effective education of Jeong-gan-bo. Jeong-gan-bo is a unique piece of music made during King Sejong's reign. Starting in the third grade elementary school, Jeong-gan-bo begins to develop. If you fail to understand Jeongganbo in lower grades, you often give up scores of music in a more detailed and complicated manner. This is why we need a customized education program for the first time in lower grades. For this purpose, the basic process of understanding the Jeongganbo is understood to be played as a traditional play. This study consists of the elementary school the 3rd grade scenario. This study consists of the second - grade class scenarios for the 3rd grade elementary school students, the curriculum is centered on the curriculum, which is currently in the 3rd grade curriculum, curriculum in 2009. The program learns to play the rhythm of the 1st phase, the code of the 2nd stage of Jeong-dan, and play the rhythm through play through play. Step 1 is not only visually recognizable, but also a direct sign of the code. The second phase consists of the basic composition of Jeongganbo, through the basic composition of Jangdan, and learns the exact rhythm of Jeongganbo. The results of the study can be divided into meaningful meaning in terms of educational significance and educational content development in terms of educational significance. The methods used to understand the exercises and play games were effective in understanding the contents of Jeongganbo, and also meaningful to the role of traditional music in the context of various programs.

Ganggangsulae, a traditional Korean circle-dance play, is valuable as the material for learning the traditional culture. Most people realize the importance of the Ganggangsulae as the traditional play. However, schools have experienced difficulties in teaching the Ganggangsulae to students since students are not interested in it due to the lack of systematic and proper instruction methods. In order to develop these methods, it is required to enforce researches in reinventing traditional Ganggangsulae into modern and popular life sports based on various scientific analyses. In this paper, we analyze the current instruction methods and the corresponding effects in teaching Ganggangsulae in the elementary schools. Also the effect of exercise is also analyzed for each play of Ganggangsulae. Based on these analyses, we present a model of player-centric Ganggangsulae system which can be reorganized its plays for a specific purpose. The proposed model characterizes Ganggangsulae in terms of the evolutionary variety and modular structure.

This study examined parental perceptions and use of traditional play songs for infants by parent's age and gender. The 464 subjects living in Daejeon City provided data via questionnaires and recorded tapes. Of 13 play songs for infants, parents were really acquainted only with Jjak-jjak-kkung, Do-ri Do-ri, Gon-ji Gon-ji, and Jam-jam. However, most parents thought traditional play songs are important for the education of the whole child. Mothers and parents in their thirties and forties considered traditional play songs to be more important than did fathers and parents in their twenties. Though infants liked traditional play songs, most parents didn't use them with their infants because parents knew few traditional play songs and they had little time to play with their infants. Lack of time was a more serious problem for fathers than for mothers.

The purpose of this study is to provide a reference for analyzing Korean traditional children's songs. A survey of opinions on the analysis criteria was conducted two times with 30 experts involved in early childhood education and its related field as the primary target. The SPSS 12.0 program was used to calculate the standard deviation and average. As a result of the expert opinion survey, 3 main categories (lyrics, music, and acting), 11 sub categories of the subsequent criteria for analysis and 33 sub-sub categories were finalized as items for analysis criteria.

In this paper, we researched the excellency of 3D graphic nursery contents for humanity and creativity education which is developed by mobile AR technology. AR technology has currentlypeople's attention because of the potential of future core contents. We allpied AR technology for kid's education of language, humanity and creativity. Well known nursery tales reconstructed by ICT technology give absorbing interest to kids, lead the curiosity of leading edge technology and friendly accept it as a part of daily life.

To examine the effect of traditional outdoor play on children's emotional intelligence, the effectiveness of the traditional outdoor play program was evaluated in the kindergarten. Participants were 44 kindergartners randomly divided into two groups: experimental group and control group. The activities of traditional outdoor play were carried out twice in a week in the experimental group, and only the regular activities of kindergarten program in the control group for 12 consecutive weeks. The data were analyzed by paired t-test, independent t-test. Major findings are as follows: First, the program affected on the children's emotional recognition and expression about the self identity and importance, while there were no significant differences in the children's emotional regulation and self-motivation. Second, traditional outdoor play program affected on the children's emotional recognition and empathy in others, relationship and social skill significantly. These results showed that educational and funny traditional outdoor play contributes to children's emotional intelligence and development.
