전기철도 급전계통의 고조파 억제용 RC뱅크의 적정 위치에 관한 연구 (Optimal Location of RC bank limiting Harmonics in Electric Railway System)

  • This paper composes the Electric Railway System with the common grounding based on the 5-port network model. We compare the magnification ratio of harmonic currents according to locations of RC bank(i.e s/s. sp, and pp). It takes a lot of costs to equip the RC-bank at all location. And it is NOT effective that RC-bank is equipped at S/S. Finally, this paper proposes SP as the optimal site of RC-bank aspect reducing harmonic.

Zn(II)-Porphyrin LB막의 전기, 화학적 특성에 관한 연구 (Electrical and Chemical characteristics of Zn(II)-Porphyrin Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) Films)

  • Since Metallo-Porphyrin (MP) is very interesting compound due to its unique electronic and redox properties and it is also chemically and thermally stable, MP has been studied for potential memory and switching devices. In this study, thin films of 5,10,15,20 - Tetrakis - Octadecyloxymethylphenyl - Porphyrin - Zn(II) (Zn-TPP) were prepared by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method and characterized by using UV/vis absorption spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. It was found that the proper transfer surface pressure for film deposition was 25 mN/m and the limiting area per molecule was $135{\AA}^2$/molecule. The current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of these films were investigated.

  • Computerized to techniques have been applied to outage call processing system for rapid restoration of power to customers. This paper presents computer aided outage call processing system called '123' system, which has been in operation since 1987. And, also describes its origins, design conception to be considered and its operation effects. From a positive point of view, it shows the functions needs to be added and some problems to be improved. Additionally, it describes the integrated system which has functions of detecting distribution failure, locating failure position by logical computer processing, and although ADS (Automatic Distribution System) has yet to be built up, the primary purpose of the system is to improve service to the customer by means of rapid restoration of electricity outage.

전기충격시인체에 흐르는 전류의 실험적 고찰 (Experimental investigation of electric currents flowing through human body in electirc shock)

  • The effect of electric shock on human body is enormousness, which leads to warmth, tingling, and even death. The mean values of perception currents obtained on 91 men and 39 women are about 0.77(mA) for men and 0.57(mA) for women. The mean value for women is approximately seven tenths that of men. An individual can tolerate, with no adverse effects, repeated exposure to the reactions associated with currents of his let-go level, and the mean value of let-go currents obtained from 27 normal men is 6.29(mA). Lethal currents flowing human body is very dangerous even for a short time. So, it is necessary to have recourse to animal experiments ot determine lethal current for human. An analysis of experimental data indicates that body weight and shock duration are important factors in determining the lethal current. It is suggested that the relationship between current and shock duration is given by I=K/.root.T, and lethal current is proportional to body weight, where I is the current in milliampere, and T is the time in seconds.

  • Need of a dimmer function becomes more important with increasing interest on a HDTV for home theater applications. In a conventional AC PDP, a possible method to reduce luminance of a whole Panel is to reduce a total number of sustain pulses and then to change the gray level. However, the reduction of the total sustain number causes the step of luminance to be rough. Moreover, it is impossible to control the luminance of the panel for a given gray level. In this paper, a simple and robust method is proposed to control linearly the luminance of whole panel by applying the asymmetric sustain pulses in the display period of the ADS driving scheme. As the range of luminance control by the proposed method is about $50\%$ for a given gray level. Moreover, it is experimentally verified that the proposed method shows similar dynamic margin performances compare with the conventional method.

  • A reliable and compact pulse power supply using a thyratron and a magnetic pulse compression (MPC) circuit was developed for a metal vapor laser. The life time of the pulse power supply is expected to be much longer than that of a conventional thyratron-discharge type pulse power supply. A thyratron generated a long pulse of its conduction pulse width 500 ns and then it was compressed to less than 80 ns of its output voltage rise time by a three stage MPC circuit. This pulse power supply was applied to a laser plasma tube of 30 mm inner diameter and 1.5 m discharge length. It was operated several hundreds hours without any troubles.

  • In this paper, the modified simulation algorithms of the Auto Transformer (AT) feeding electric train system were proposed. To obtain terminal voltage of train by using equivalent circuit or the AT feeding system, the iterative method is proposed for which determine the train voltages. The train voltages are iteratively calculated from the system voltage drop and line impedance. In the carte study, the proposed method is verified from actual operation data of the Kwa-Chon line. Also it is verified that the proposed method can be extent to the multi-train simulation tool. The terminal voltage of the multi-train can be calculated by using superposition principle and it is easily applied to the proposed method. Therefore, the proposed method can be a solution for the complexity of the circuit analysis in the existing methods.

  • An inverter-fed induction is driven by a harmonic voltage source so that it is necessary to be analysed by time-stepping F.E.M. But it takes so long time that disadvantageous to design. This paper presents a simple analysis method for inverter-fed induction motor using FEM and harmonic equivalent circuit. First, the rotor bar resistance and the leakage reactance are determinated by FEA for 1 slot region in rotor to consider the skin effect and the saturation. Secondly, the characteristic of the motor is analyzed by the harmonic equivalent circuits consisting of the obtained parameters from the FEA. This method is carried out to analyze an induction motor driven by the sinusoidal voltage and the inverter. The results are verified by comparing with those of the time-step F.E.A and the experiment.

  • In this paper, the inductance characteristics of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) considering cross-coupling effect is analyzed. It is known that the IPMSM has it's operating point at the saturated region. So the cross-coupling effect exists, therefore cross-coupling inductance exists. With the application of Fixed Permeability Method (FPM), we can obtain more exact inductance characteristics of IPMSM. In this paper, a novel method based on the FPM is proposed, which can consider the cross-coupling effect. And the cross-coupling inductance which is the analysis result is shown. Finally, the validity of proposed method is verified by the comparison with the experimental result.

  • In this paper, a methodology for the efficiency improvement of the photovoltaic system without adding some elements or increasing the cost comparing with the conventional system is discussed. It is suggested the optimal photovoltaic module configuration through its performance analysis, and also the suitable maximum power point tracking (MPPT) voltage considered the system cost and the efficiency of the converter. The high efficiency photovoltaic system by using the parallel power transfer (PPT) based MPPT converter is proposed and analyzed theoretically comparing with the conventional Buck type MPPT converter. Finally, it is designed and implemented the proposed photovoltaic system for supplying DC 48V by using the PPT based MPPT converter. And the effect of the efficiency improvement and the usefulness of the proposed system is proved through some preliminary simulation and experiment results.
