Visualization of Multi-phase Flow with Electrical Impedance Tomography based on Extended Kalman Filter (확장 칼만 필터 기반 전기임피던스 단층촬영법을 이용한 다상유동장 가시화)

  • Electrical impedance(EIT) for the multi-phase flow visualization is an imaging modality in which the resistivity distribution of the unknown object is estimated based on the known sets of injected currents and measured voltages on the surface of the object. In this paper, an EIT reconstruction algorithm based on the extended Kalman filter(EKF) is proposed. The EIT reconstruction problem is formulated as a dynamic model which is composed of the state equation and the observation equation, and the unknown resistivity distribution is estimated recursively with the aid of the EKF. To verify the reconstruction performance of the proposed algorithm, experiments with simulated multi-phase flow are performed.

  • 가스차단기의 성능은 노즐재질, 접점분리 속도 차단기의 치수 그리고 마크시간 등에 좌우되며 이러한 일련의 현상을 고찰하기 위한 유동현상을 모의하기 위해서는 기본적으로 두 접점의 상대운동 및 접점 사이에서 발생하는 아크 플라즈마(arc plasma)에 의한 전도, 대류, 복사현상 뿐만 아니라 아크전류에 의한 로랜츠힘(Lorentz's force), 용삭(ablation)에 의한 화학작용 등과 같은 매우 복잡한 물리적 현상을 고려해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 차단과정 중 대전류 영역에서의 아크특성과 마크에서 방출되는 강한 복사에너지에 의해 발생하는 PTFE 증기에 의한 영향을 고려하기 위해서 상용 CFD 프로그램인 PHOENICS에 아크 모델링과 고온에서의 $SF_6$-PTFE 혼합가스의 물성치 대입을 위한 보조 프로그램을 작성하여 해석을 수행하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 4 m 길이의 핵연료 집합체를 지지하는 스페이서 그리드 외관의 이상 상태를 자동으로 검출하기 위한 영상처리 알고리즘에 대해 기술한다. 원자로 가동 중에는 중성자 조사와 고온 고압 냉각수의 열 유동에 의한 물리적 작용으로 정방 격자구조로 되어 있는 연료봉이 늘어나거나 휘어져 연료봉 틈새 간격이 좁아지고 냉각수의 원활한 유동이 방해를 받게 됨에 따라 연료봉을 지지하는 스페이서 그리드의 변형이 초래될 수 있다. 스페이서 그리드 간격의 변화를 자동으로 추출하는 영상처리 알고리즘을 개발하여 스페이서 그리드의 이상 상태를 자동으로 인식할 수 있게 하였다. 실험 영상으로는 스웨덴 Ahlberg 사의 4면 검사장치에 의해 수행된 경수로형 핵연료 집합체의 검사 동영상을 이용하였다.

  • The maximum charge accumulation in transformers caused by streaming electrification is commonly observed on the bottom area of transformer winding(i.e.the oil inlet of transformer winding). It is because turbulent flows occur in this portion of transformers. Consequently, if we are to reduce the maximum charge accumulation of transformers, it is important that we should have a good understanding of the conditions of the occurence of partial turbulent flows in the oil inlet of transformer winding. With this point in mind, a simple flow model was designed in this study in order to simulate oil flow in the insulation ducts of power transformers. As a method for mitigating charge accummulation, attention was given to (a) a flow path design for the improvement of flow conditions, and (b) the charge tendency of the material used this design. The results of this study show that the above method is useful for mitigating charge accumulation.

  • 휴대용 면역진단 시스템을 구현하기 위하여 설계된 공기주입기로 구동되는 랩온어칩 내의 유체 유동을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 해석하고, 문제점을 보완할 수 있는 구조로 랩온어칩을 재설계하였다. 공기주입기에서 흘러나오는 공기를 이용해 완충액 저장고 내에 있는 완충액을 토출시킬 때 다량의 기포가 발생함을 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 알 수 있었다. 완충액 저장고의 내부에 계단형 구조를 삽입함으로서 완충액 이송 시 형성되는 기포를 상당히 억제할 수 있었다. 또한 계단형 구조는 유선을 역행 방지판 쪽으로 분산시켜 역행 방지판의 효율을 높일 것이다.

  • Electro-osmotic flow in a PDMS microchannel of $66{\mu}m\;\times\;200{\mu}m\;\times\;3cm$ has been investigated using a micro PIV system. The field of view was $1056{\mu}m\;\times\;200{\mu}m$ and instantaneous velocity fields were obtained using two-frame cross-correlation method with $64\;\times\;64\;pixels^2$ interrogation window. In this study, we focused on the effect of applied electric field on the variation of internal flow with varying the electric field and seeding particles. The electro-osmotic flow shows a flat velocity profile and the mean velocity is proportional to the applied electric field.

  • AC-electroosmosis is one of the electrokinetic forces leading to phenomena peculiar in the microfluidics. This paper shows particle deformation in the microchannel with rectangular electrodes on the bottom wall for the AC-electroosmotic flows. We make a PDMS microchannnel with ITO electrodes To measure velocity distributions of the particles we used a three-dimensional particle tracking velocimetry (micro-PTV) technique this method is Particle tracking by interpolation the diffraction pattern ring diameter variations with the defocusing distances of base particle locations. we induce a function of frequency at the electrode. We find the velocity of particles is the most at the edge of the electrodes and Particles move to side wall or center of the channel for the bottom and middle.

  • Controlling fluid flows in micro scales is a non-trivial issue among those who are involved in designing lab-on-chips. Pumping and mixing by using electrokinetic principles has been popular in that the method requires a few parts and it is easy to control. This paper explains the basic mechanism of the electroosmotic flows caused by AC together with presenting some numerical results. In particular, the fundamental, physical idea involved in the mechanism will be illustrated in terms of the kinematic aspect. Since the electroosmotic flows are mainly driven by the motion of ions, we also demonstrate the ion motions by using the numerical-visualization method.

  • This paper presents vibration characteristics of a wire cut discharge machine in which an electro-rheological brake actuator is used to control the wire tension. The ER brake actuator has several advantages including design simplicity, fast response time and real-time controllability. On the basis of the tension level required in the machine an appropriate size of the ER brake actuator is devised. The ER brake actuator is then incorporated with the machine and the field-dependent wire tension is experimentally evaluated. The straightness of the workpiece is also empirically investigated by changing the intensity of the electric field.

  • Industrial electrostatic precipitators require a highly uniform velocity distribution in the collecting chamber. Increasing divergence angle of a diffuser makes a non-uniformity flow distribution characteristics on the diffuser exit. This paper provides CFD results of optimum positions and opening rates of perforated plates which were installed in the electrostatic precipitator. The considered divergence angels were 60 degree and 90 degree. In 90 degree diffuser, a blanking method was used.
