Permanent magnet linear synchronous motor design suitable for an high-speed ground transportation system which need a big acceleration force.   • This paper presents an algorithm for real-time restoration of radially operated 154kV loop system. Restoration procedure consists of 4 procedures; recognition of faults, identification of fault locations, seperation of fault locations and restoration of blackout areas. This algorithm adopts expert's knowledge for safe and accurate operation of the real-time restoration system (APRS: Automatic Power Reconfiguration System).

  • This paper provides the procedure to derive model parameters from the field tests. Since the accuracy of power system analysis depends on the accuracy of models used to represent the generation units, the reliability of power system analysis could be affected by parameters used in those models. The objective of this paper is to validate and update the models. So the field test had performed for thermal units and adjusting the variables to match with the measured values derived their model parameters. And the model parameters are verified by comparing the variables between models.

  • This paper presents a model and simulation for the korean type multi-propulsion system consisting of a gas turbine driven synchronous alternator coupled to a rectifier and dc-to-dc converter. The simulation modules include turbine system, alternator and rectifier, dc-to-dc converter, power management module. A modular, system level simulation of the propulsion system prototype is presented in order to confirm stability for loads with uncertain input impedances and uncertain control loop speeds.

  • This paper is to build and develop the generation schedule program to provide a stable power supply and economic operation of power generation system. A practical algorithm is presented for solving the thermal unit commitment problem which is one of very important areas in economic operation of power system. This algorithm is based on priority ordering by the unit generation cost and it is shown that the operation cost of chosen sets of generators is the minimum. The proposed method is proven to be very practical, accurate and efficient in a KEPCO system.

  • The yearly load forecasting system has been developed for the economic and secure operation of electric power system. It forecasts yearly peak load and thereafter deduces hourly load using the top-down approach. Relative coefficient model has been applied to estimate peak load of a specific date or a specific day of the week. It is equipped with graphic user interface which enables a user to easily access to the system. Yearly average forecasting error may be reduced to $2{\sim}3$(%) only if we can forecast summer-time temperature correctly.

  • In general, real power system is not stopped for reason of its test. And then we have no way to verify its reliability on real power system. In this paper we present the real time simulation technique of the APRS(Automatic Power Reconfiguration System) before it is applied in real power system. We used the Real Time Digital Simulator constructed in KEPRL And we applied the power system model which is reduced because of RTDS capacity. Also, We prescent the method Interface between target system(APRS) and RTDS. Last, We provide the test results and the meaning.

  • Load models for the analysis and simulation of power system are often introduced when the more accurate result is required. This work presents a single expressed load model as T-equivalent circuit of induction motor, for the composite characteristics of various loads. The parameters of the proposed load model are identified based on the system identification method as Recursive Least Square identification method. Case study results show the accuracy of proposed load model, and compared with some field measurements.

  • This paper deals with the design considerations of electro-magnet (EM)-permanent magnet (PM) hybrid levitation and propulsion device for magnetically levitated (maglev) vehicles. Several design considerations such as machine structure, manufacturing, and control strategy are described. In order to verify the design scheme and feasibility of control strategy, dynamic test set is implemented and tested.
