Precision GPS Orbit Determination and Analysis of Error Characteristics (정밀 GPS 위성궤도 결정 및 오차 특성 분석)

  • A bi-directional, multi-step numerical integrator is developed to determine the GPS (Global Positioning System) orbit based on a dynamic approach, which shows micrometer-level accuracy at GPS altitude. The acceleration due to the planets other than the Moon and the Sun is so small that it is replaced by the empirical forces in the Solar Radiation Pressure (SRP) model. The satellite orbit parameters are estimated with the least-squares adjustment method using both the integrated orbit and the published IGS (International GNSS Service) precise orbit. For this estimation procedure, the integration should be applied to the partial derivatives of the acceleration with respect to the unknown parameters as well as the acceleration itself. The accuracy of the satellite orbit is evaluated by the RMS (Root Mean Squares error) of the residuals calculated from the estimated orbit parameters. The overall RMS of orbit error during March 2009 was 5.2 mm, and there are no specific patterns in the absolute orbit error depending on the satellite types and the directions of coordinate frame. The SRP model used in this study includes only the direct and once-per-revolution terms. Therefore there is errant behavior regarding twice-per-revolution, which needs further investigation.

Real-time Adaptive PID Temperature Control that limits Overshoot (오버슈트를 제한하는 실시간 적응형 PID 온도제어)

  • In this paper, we propose a new real-time adaptive PID temperature control technique. This is a technique that prevents overshoot by introducing a model that represents the control object. To prevent excessive integration that causes overshoot, integral control adjusts the integral gain to track the heat loss of the model in real time. In the conventional PID control, the integration was dependent on proportional control and the gain was fixed to a constant. As a result, applying two gains that mismatch each other could cause excessive overshoot. However, the proposed adaptive control actively eliminates overshoot so that the integral control amount does not always exceed the heat loss. The cause of overshoot in PID control is integration. Basically, proportional control does not cause overshoot. Therefore, according to the proposed technique, adaptive PID control without the need for tuning experiments can be realized.

  • The extension of the weighted integral method in the area of stochastic finite element analysis is presented. The use of weighted integral method in numerical analysis was extended to CST(constant strain triangle) element by Deodatis to calculate the response variability of 2D stochastic systems. In this paper, the extension of the weighted integral method for general plane-elements is represented. It has been shown that the same mesh used in the deterministic FE analysis can be used in the stochastic FE analysis. Furthermore, because the CST element is a special case which has constant strain-displacement matrix the mingling of CST elements with the other quadrilateral elements in the analysis may also be possible.

  • Active disturbance rejection control is a method in which the disturbance is removed from the controller by estimating the state variable using the Luenberger observer. The Luenberger observer is estimated by defining a nonlinear term including disturbance with constant characteristics in a steady state as a state variable. It can be shown that the speed tracking performance is improved by compensating the estimated state variable to the PI controller and the IP controller. The disturbance removal performance of the tracking control can be confirmed by observing that the estimated state error is within 1.9 [%] in the case of load fluctuation and the steady-state state tracking error converges to zero.

  • The practical control problems for the lime-delay system is considered. The delay-free characteristics of the Smith Predictor is available only when both the process and it's model are exactly matched. So it does not used widely in practical industrial processes. In this paper, using the 2nd-order plus dead time model in place of the plant model of the Smith Predictor, the proposed controller shows the improved performance in case of the very long time delay. And the range of integral constant of the PI controller is also proposed.

  • 유한요소법을 이용하여 전자장을 해석할 경우 전류원이 전 영역에 비해 극히 작은 영역이면, 요소분할 과정에서 소스부분을 세분하여야 하므로 결국 미지수의 증가를 가져오게 된다. 또한, 선전류 문제의 경우 2차원 유한 요소 해석이 용이하지 않다. 이를 보안하기 위해 본 논문에서는 소스가 선전류이고 관심 영역이 선전류원으로부터 떨어져 있는 경우, 소스 영역은 해석해를 적용하여 유한요소법과 결합하는 방법을 제시하였다. 해석적인 해는 원통좌표계에서 반정에 대한 멱함수와 회전각도에 대한 삼각함수의 곱의 형태로 표현된다. 이때 두 종류의 적분 상수가 있는데, 이는 경계상의 포텐셜값과 유한요소법의 경계 적분항을 푸리에급수로 전개한 계수로 표현된다. 제안한 알고리즘의 검증을 위하여 해석해가 존재하는 모델을 설정하여 해석적인 방법, 기존의 유한요소 법 및 결합 방법에 의한 해를 비교 검증하였다.

우성형 중성자 수송방정식을 이용한 광첨두현상 감소 및 제거

  • 특정한 방향성분에 대한 방향중성자속을 정의하는 방향차분 수송 방정식(discrete ordinates or S$_{N}$ transport equation)과 달리 방향변수를 구분된 방향영역에 대하여 적분하고, 해당 방향영역 내에서의 방향중성자속이 일정하다고 가정하는 영역상수법(piecewise constant method)을 이용하여 유사방향차분방정식(discrete ordinates-like equation)을 유도하여, 이를 Boltzmann 수송식과 2계 우성수송식(even-parity transport equation)에 적용하여 기존의 방향차분법의 단점인 광첨두현상(ray effects)을 감소시키고, 우성수송식의 교차미분항을 제거한 단순우성방정식(simplified even-parity equation)을 사용하여 광첨두현상을 제거하였다. 이는 단순우성방정식의 또 다른 장점을 제시한다.

  • Arrhenius kinetic constants, the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor, of energetic material $BKNO_3$ are estimated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Different from the conventional way, the activation energy was estimated more precisely through DSC aging trial, and the consumed fraction by heat was calculated by comparing the integration of heat flow. We suggested the condition of accelerated aging test for the energetic material $BKNO_3$ and reconsidered the meaning of the thermal accelerated aging.

  • This study investigated that the stress reduction of single edge cracked plates with patch repairs according to different type of patching such as material, size and thickness of patch and adhesive as well as single sided or double sided patches. As a numerical tool, the p-convergent partial layerwise model has been employed. The proposed model is formulated by assuming piecewise linear variation of in-plane displacement and a constant value of out-of-plane displacements across thickness. The integrals of Legendre polynomials are chosen to define displacement fields and Gauss-Lobatto numerical integration is implemented in order to directly obtain maximum values occurred at the nodal points of each layer without other extrapolation techniques. Also, total strain energy release rate method is adopted to obtain stress intensity factors. Numerical examples are presented not only to demonstrate the stress reduction effect in terms of non-dimensional stress intensity factor and deflection with respect to different type of patch repairs, but also the accuracy of proposed model.

Piecewise-Constant Method for Angular Approximation for the Second-Order Multidimensional Neutron Transport Equations (다차원 2계 중성자 수송방정식의 방향근사를 위한 영역상수법)

  • The piecewise constant angular approximation is developed to replace the conventional angular quadrature sets in the solution of the second-order, multi-dimensional $S_{N}$ neutron transport equations. The newly generated quadrature sets by this method substantially mitigate ray effects and can be used in the same manner as the conventional quadrature sets are used. The discrete-ordinates and the piecewise-constant approximations are applied to both the first-order Boltzmann and the second-order form of neutron transport equations in treating angular variables. The result is that the mitigation of ray effects is only achieved by the piecewise-constant method, in which new angular quadratures are generated by integrating angle variables over the specified region. In other sense, the newly generated angular quadratures turn out to decrease the contribution of mixed-derivative terms in the even-parity equation that is one of the second-order neutron transport equation. This result can be interpreted as the entire elimination or substantial mitigation of ray effect are possible in the simplified even-parity equation which has no mixed-derivative terms.
