  • Leading Lights and Sector Lights provide a navigable channel, heading reference and a visual indication. Mariners can take easily a reference bearing or line of position. The Busan North Port needed to install a sector light to resolve blind sections because of Busan Port Redevelopment Project D-1 Block Construction Plan. And also the busan new port needed to install a sector light to give safety indication because navigation conditions will be changed due to removal of the to-island. For this reason, design development was made for installation of sector lights. In addition, the results of design development were compared with the AtoN simulation and verified. This paper is expected to be very useful for installing Sector Lights to guide the vessel to port safely in Korea.

  • Nature-mimetic architecture has been discussed for a long time in the West. There were differences in understanding nature, the pursuit of nature-mimetic and the characteristics of nature-mimetic architecture. It can be inferred that it was influenced by various happenings in each period. The purpose of this study is to acknowledge the characteristics of nature-mimetic architecture up from the past to the present, and to understand the difference through the timeline of historical events. First, the study inquires the characteristics of nature-mimetic architecture by timeline. Seek the perception and attitude, characteristics of nature-mimetic architecture and the value of it through cases of Ancient Greek, Medieval, Renaissance, Early Modern and Modern. Secondly, understand the important historical issues that influenced nature-mimetic architecture such as view of nature, social aspect, religion and scientific technology. Finally, discuss the relationship between nature-mimetic architecture and its historical background.

  • This study analyzes the systematic visual images and factors in and outside of the main courtyard in Byungsan-seowon. The results are as follows; In terms of space distribution, Ip-kyo-dang is located at an elevation of 85m and the distance to Byung-san is 365m. Byung-san with the mean gradient over $50^{\circ}$ looked so stiff, and the east side of that cliff is higher than west. In terms of the angle of elevation relationship between Man-dae-ru and Byung-san draw 10.5 degree and it suits with human scale. The D/H ratio of 1:3 makes the given place very spacious but the linear stiff shape of Byung-san may cause the feeling of closeness. The results of the visual image analysis of the main yard facing Byung-san is very positive with a score of 1.70 in openness, 1.78 in wideness, 1.96 in beauty, 1.96 in harmony for the spacious arrangement which overall, makes the seowon beautiful with many open spaces. There are 4 main implicated factors analyzed which are uniqueness, aesthetic, openness and nature. Out of the total variables, these factors' descriptive ability is 55.90% and the remaining 44.10% is error and peculiarities variables. The factor which contributed most to Byungsan-seowon's main yard's visual preference was the 'aesthetic' with B-values of 0.661 and 0.455 in the nature category.

  • This paper attempts to estimate the natural rates of output and interest of Korea in a simple DSGE set-up with a few stylized New Keynesian features using Bayesian methods. The major findings of this paper are as follows. First, the estimates of output gaps are less volatile than the measures from conventional approaches, although they exhibit non-negligible variations depending on the model specification. Another key finding is that the hybrid type Phillips curve with a backward-looking component and/or habit formation in consumption may play an important role in characterizing the macroeconomic dynamics of Korea.

  • The poetic world of Jeong Wan-yeong, Baeksu in pen name, is commonly said to be a mirror of the Oriental world of thoughts. However we haven't had any scientific article to support this point. My research is aimed to verify this point. The conclusions of my research are as follows : First, each persona in his sijo work complies to nature, revealing himself in harmony with the principles of nature, and lost in nature. Second. Baeksu, in his sijo works, regards two conflicting ideas as complementary ones, which was called the theory of 'Bangsaeng(方生)' by Chung-tze(莊子), and was called the theory of Origin(緣起說) by Buddhist philosophers. Third, Baeksu located his home town in a space of the supernatural world. which is similar to that of 'Muhayujihyang(無何有之鄕)'called by Chung-tze. From these points, it can be said that the ideas of Chung-tze and Buddhist philosophers are deeply permeated in his sijo works.

  • Firstly, this study aimed to identify differential characteristics of alternative tourists by comparing socioeconomic and travel characteristics, ecotourism cognition level and intention to participate in ecotourism, and eco-friendly travel attitudes between alternative tourists and mass tourists visiting Jeju Island. Secondly, it aimed to evaluate the possibility of the Jeju experimental forests managed by Warm Temperate Forest Center as an alternative tourism destination. The results shown that alternative tourists had more positive travel attitude and higher level of cognition of ecotourism and intention of participate in ecotourism than mass tourist. The cognition level and the intention of visit the experimental forests were also higher in alternative tourists group. In addition, alternative tourists were more active and participatory in nature-oriented activities, and evaluated themselves culture and nature oriented tourists. Thus, it is required to keep monitoring the alternative tourists' distinctive characteristics and to reflect those in developing and managing alternative tourism destinations.

  • The primary goal of the database design is to organize a large amount of data effectively in users and systems view point. Effective design of a database is very important for processing applications efficiently. In this paper, we discuss database design for an urban geographic information system that effectively maintains the cadastral and planimetric information. We first collect and analyze the requirements for the target urban geographic information system and then perform database design for these requirements. Our database design is based on the object-oriented approach that has rich expressive power and good reusability in comparison with the traditional relational approach. Especially, we employ the OMT, one of the most widely-used object-oriented models. We expect that our result would be helpful in building large databases for urban geographic information systems practically.
